The Kew Gardens Hills Eruv was personally inspected and approved by Rav Moshe. After he approved it he honestly was not too happy how people used it and refused to approve any more Eruvs, but he didnt take away his blessing from Kew Gardens Hills Eruv

I cannot judge the Jews who were forced into this but I look on with sadness that Jews are compelled to participate in a revolting practice simply because they have targets on their backs and need to β€œprove” that they are nice people. Maybe they should take off their head coverings to prove that they don’t have horns either. Sad.

There is no halloween where I live so its not a problem for me. But its one thing to discuss things with adults and its quite another with children. All the kid wants is some candy if some little kid dressed as batman or a princess comes to your house are you really going to tell him about Avodah Zarah (The kid is 6 and just wants some candy)

What someone chooses to be machmir on says alot about the person.

People who are cruel to animals are many times cruel to other human beings as well

I am fairly certain we are allowed to be more machmir on things than the torah allows.

A simple example is slavery. The torah allows it, but we have basically banned it

Also Eisha yofetz Toar nobody would seriously encourage that either

You have brought up your divorce many times before, You did not listen to advice before that didnt agree 100% with your world view. Just give her the get and move on with your life. She is not coming back and no reason to try to destroy each other especially if you have kids

There is a difference between leather and fur. Leather is mostly made from animals killed for food. Animals that are killed for fur the meat is not eaten.

As far as Tzaar Baalei Chaim..Have you seen a fur trap. Basically its a trap with giant teeth that trap the animal until it dies. Schechita is a quick death for the animal

    Q : Should a Jew Collect coins?

A: If you want to collect coins, go collect Coins, but this is the way of the Goyim, They collect gold and silver and other gashmius that one cannot take with them to the true world. If a jew wants to collect something, Let him collect torah gems. A torah Gem is worth alot more than a rock gem

There are quite a number of non-relgious people who go to MO schools, they were never relgious and they are likely counted as OTD. Very few (if any) non relgious go to Charedi schools

85% is my guess on the number of people davening with Full Kavanah in a orthodox shul, Might be higher , might be lower. But as an estimate from OTD rates its probably not far off

Anyone talking or otherwise engaging in activities not related to Davening would be included in the 15% Not davening with kavanah

The failure of other denominations was due to alot of factors.

Considering the OTD crisis and the “Orhtoprax jew” even in more charedi communities One cant nessasarity say not changing was a success either. if you call 85% (I dont know the real number, but we can all pretty agree its not 100%) a success, then it was a success.

I am very well aware that davening in English is permitted, however its just not done and its frowned upon.

But that doesnt mean some people might benefit from such a service

I am well aware that was done by other denominations which is why even if it would be permitted by Halacha it would be frowned upon.

I think I heard that Stoliner or Kaliner Chassidim yell during davening, but I’ve never seen it

This is not going to Fly and may even be against Halacha, I dont know

but if it were possible to do so within halacha I would propose the following

But for the 15% or so people who are bored during daving, I would propose some sort of more exciting service. More Davening in native language , Shorter service and maybe with some sort of entertaining Choir .

And even if it were legal according to Halacha, there would still be opposition to it

People with regularly schedualed events get Permits so the police and locals know just to avoid those areas. An Ambulance would rarely get stuck there as it would use an alternate route. Maybe add a few mins but thats all

Christians and Conservative/Reform go to their Church or Temple once a week, if even that. Jews go three times a day. So to compare, is to miss the mark.

Things that are more of an event tend to get people more excited than things done at least once a day.

Which excites you more a regular weekday at home meal (Not at a restaurant) or a Friday Night Shabbos meal which is more of an event

There are plenty of Rabbanim who have discussed the Rote issue

The Language is part of the boredom and the translation is really useless (Try reading it and see if it makes sense)

Of course where there is a will, there is a way, but mussor really wont solve the problem here (I have no solutions..Only pointing out where the problem is) For whatever reason it tends to fall on deaf ears

I have heard from Rabbanim that speeding up the davening does cut down on the talking so OP has backing when he posts that.

Most people do not speak hebrew that well and even if they speak some, the words really are hard to understand. Even if someone really wants to daven hard ot hashem, praying in a foreign language can lose meaning to even the best of people and they get bored when the davening lasts several hours

People here are debating if these protests violate the torah or not and if they are Kiddish Hashem or Chilul Hashem

And what if you heart and brain says not to follow a certain Gadol , Certainly people have asked that question before and some have left yeshivas, chassidus or whatever their Kehilla was because they disagreed with the Rav

It was in the middle of a parking lot after the lady took my shopping cart. I stooped over for her.

I cannot say what a posek would have said because they were not there, especially given IMO the lady’s mental condition which seemed weal and I am fairly certain she was religious as her daughter looked relgious and was a bit horrified at the who incident.

I dont even know if she was a holocaust survivor or not, but she was definatly old enough to be one and spoke with an Alter Heim accident

The Rav Chaim letter did not come from YWN, it was originally posted in the Israeli version of Yated.

And what is interesting to all those defending the Peleg is they dont even know how these protests started.

A bunch of Peleg Bochrim went to the Dead Sea for a vacation and were caught not being in the Yeshiva when they were supposed to. If you want to argue that learning is just as valid as army service, where is your defense about vacationing at the dead sea while other jews have their lives at risk
