I am not trying to be rude and I didnt see if you answered

this publication is free to print whatever they want 1st amendment AND you are free NOT to let it in your house which is your right.

You have your standards and others have their standards. Its not for the publication to make the decision whose standards to follow, its yours, if you approve let it in your house, otherwise send it to the recycling bin outside

There is no Halacha to wear a black hat, but there is a Halacha to honor ones parents.

If you want to wear one in the future there will be plenty of time when you leave your parents house

One has to worry about Peer Pressure to have a Chavrusa during recess, perhaps even from the Rabbaim.

I agree with Midwest. Online Degrees are esentially worthless and cost ALOT of money

I would add that going to a commuter college (Colleges with NO DORMS) also generally gets working people not interested so much in hanging out even during the day time.

And if you Live in NYC Brooklyn and Queens College have ALOT of religious jews who go there

Some relatives told me in their yeshivas they had Chavrusa’s during recess.

Schools should encourage some exercise during recess, not Chavrusa’s

Ive seen many weddings where they put bottles of Wine on the table.

Also many weddings have a BAR and many charity diners serve wine on the table or have a bar

Since they sell Kosher Food with a hechsher, It would mean some Rabbaim are going there as well to make sure the Kashruth is good

Alan Shlomo Veingrad was an offensive lineman for the Dallas Cowboys super bowl winning team in 1992, he became a Baal Teshivah via Chabad after he retired.

he is now a speaker telling of his becoming orthodox after football

The parade is not about the government, Thats why there is a concert / rally in central park.

It was started by people who disagree with the Israeli government

I meant Rabbi Forst not Fuerst , I misspelled his name.

When I heard him give the Shiur about the BBQ on July 4th, I’ll admit I was a little shocked.

Maybe the Frum teachers should work on secular holidays, but its tough on working parents, you have to find child care on Erev Erev Erev Erv Peseach and you basically cant spend time with family on Memorial day. since you are off.

We do owe this country alot for letting us live as we please, it is the law the you cannot be fired for refusing to work on Shabbos, Kosher food is easily available and can be asked for if it isnt.

Soldiers deserve our thanks for protecting our freedoms, Many a US vet libertated a concentration camp

There is no freedom on Speech on WABC Radio or any other radio station.

Freedom of speech applies ONLY on public property. WABC has the right to allow or reject anything they please, its considered private property.

If there was freedom of speech as some have claimed, A worshipper of another religion would have the right to preach on your doorstep claiming “Freedom of Speech”

In the Book by the Iranian woman

She gave an example of a Chassidic boy who did not want to wear a har. His father forced him to wear a hat and it became a struggle.

I suppose many called him “Off the Dereach” ,

Of course it became a self-fufilling prophecy and eventually the boy did go off the dereach.

But the Author also gave her own story, She was all gung ho about frumkite, she then went to Israel for a year in seminary and she was caught hanging with a bunch of friends , including a boy. Her rosh yeshiva ignored her the rest of the year and she was turned off. The rosh yeshiva of the seminary bascially threw her out because she was caught hanging with boys on Ben Yehuda St.

Teens need a little space, You need to know how much to give them, but some space is likely. You catch alot more flies with Honey than vinegar

Most people I know, the men are in Kollel all day and the women are WORKING

They are not away from the kids because they want “me” time, they are away from the kids because they need income to pay bills

Most people who have dogs usually grew up with dogs and and friends with dogs, so they want a dog.

Most frum familes did not grow up with one and most of their friends dont have one, so they dont have one.

Also many people with Dogs either have small familes or no kids. The Pets act as a surragate child (I know people who call their pets FUR-BABIES).

Frum people have 5-10 kids and do not have the energy to take care of a dog. Dogs are high Maintance pets (and high reward) there is just no energy to take care of one between the energy and the expense involved (Pet Food, Vet etc)

I know someone who had a rotwiller, the dog looked mean and had a mean bark.

You would go to their house , hear it bark and then it would come up to you.

It just wanted to be petted. It was the friendliest dog you’ve ever seen.

The only dogs that usually bite are dogs that are trained that way or abused.

If a dog is trained to be a family dog, they will be very friendly

    I have read the book

The author of the book is an Iranian woman who went off the dereach and returned.

She then asked people who went off why they did

One can bury their heads in the sand and ignore problems or one can attempt to solve them

If your teen is on the dereach, then this doesnt apply to you, but for those who are or might be leaning in that direction then the system is a failure

I have a programmable thermonstat (not from Con Ed)

and the biggest headache is it runs on BATTERIES and if the batteries go dead, you get NO HEAT (I dont have central AC, but the AC wouldnt work either)

It always seems the batteries go dead on shabbos and a super cold shabbos that the house freezes (Ive seen the tempature in the house drop to the 40’s if I dont change the batteries ASAP)
