One of the amazing things about technology is while before one could lie about really occured, but with almost everyone carrying a portable video camera. Speeches can be video taped and uploaded to Youtube and re-watched over and over.

There can be no doubt what was actually said.

The Asifa was a huge failure in no part because the message wasnt clear, the message was very clear at the Siyum and people left satisfied and inspired

People left the Asifa puzzled and werent exactly sure what the message was

In places like NYC, Nobody cares what you are dressed like, It wasnt the Satmar Rebbe who changed the culture of NY. it was NY that changed

You can be dressed as a Chassid, you can be dressed as a Muslim you can be dressed as someone from Africa, You can be a man dressed as a woman Nobody really cares.

People compare NYC to elsewhere in the US. What works well in NYC and vincinity does not work elsewhere in US. Try dressing like a Chassid in Alabama. It is NOT common and you will get stares

TCG I even saw a Chabad Rabbi wearing a baseball cap in Europe

And then he tells me there isnt any anti-semitism because they dont see jews in Spain.

I have been to Europe a few times , I was never attacked I dont particully look jewish and I dont sound jewish, but I do sound american.

But almost every jew I saw was somewhat disguised, almost none of the boys or men wore kippat (They wore caps or baseball hats, but their tzizit were out)

I can tell you its very different in Europe than in USA.

I saw in London a guard over a shuls24/7 and you need an ID to enter many Shuls in Europe if you want to Daven there.

Granted I have not been to the places TCG was from, I was in England (London) , France (Paris – Although even Paris can be dangerous) , Italy and Spain where maybe it isnt as bad.

    MorahRach

Are you an actual Morah of Kids in School or do you just use that name here

The reason I am asking is if you are an actual Morah in a School, you are a mandatory reporter and must report any suspected abuse that you think.

Teachers are usually trained to know the signs of abuse and hopefully you were too.

I was reading a Kiruv article and it made the following statement

what is the first thing someone says to you in an Orhtodox Synangogue, GET OUT OF MY SEAT

What is the first thing someone says to you in a J4J church, Hello, can I invite you for Shabbos.

Its seems this lesson is lost on people here

What would be a better question is to use the money more efficiently.

Instead of incandescent bulb, use Flourescent bulbs and even start using LED Bulbs which use less electricity

Insulate the buildings more so less heat and less air conditioning is needed

Buildings can be built for cheaper utility use although they are more expensive to build but will more than pay for themselves in the long run

I dont know what the Chazon Ish says, but Ill assume he forbids it by the way you quoted it.

However He was the Rov in Europe and Israel, he was not the Rov of the USA as Rav Moshe was.

I know people who are the head of organizations and Ive asked them if they believe in constructive criticism. They told me not only do they accept it, they encourage it.

It seems the only place its not encouraged is chinuch. Everyone should listen to all VALID ideas (Some ideas are not meant to be contructive, only criticism) You have to know who is giving the criticism , why they are giving it and what is their motivation.

If they really want to help the yeshiva , it should be sought after and encouraged

These are 2 well known stories, Both were in the regular newspapers and you can believe or not believe either of them.

Many here claimed the Glasses were a Fraud asking where was the proof, I only asked for the proof for the talking Fish BUBBE MAAISA (Sorry I dont know how to spell the proper mamma loshon, if you want to correct my spelling)

There was a story a few years ago about a talking fish in Monsey, I am sure the same people who are calling this a “Bubba Meinser” are the same people who claim the Fish in Monsey talked.

The glasses is fairly easy to prove, all you have to find are the sellers and manufactures of these and its proveable

And before you tell me Skokie is close to Chicago, remember I am not a local and it would take me 3 or 4 x as long to get to Skokie from Chicago as a Local and when I was in Chicago I didnt have the time to travel from Chicago to Skokie (I think its around 1 hour each way by Subway) I was only in Chicago for 4 days

AND FYI it is still almost twice the price

A half Gallon (or 48 oz) container of Kleins costs $7.99 , A Half Gallon (or 48 oz) of Edys costs $3.99 not on sale and I can get store brand for about $2.99 and they taste better than Kleins

Chalov Yisroel is NOT all over, Yes its available in PARTS of NYC , You can find it in the 5 Towns , Teaneck and some parts of NJ

    But thats IT

Ive been in other parts of the country and for example Ice Cream is usually Kosher in NY, it is NOT Kosher in most parts of the US (Except for National Brands like Breyes , Dreyers (Edys in NY) Ben and Jerrys and Haagan Daze

Why not take a road trip and see how difficult it is, Its even difficult on Long Island (outside the 5 towns)

When someone bought an iphone he showed it to his friend how cool it was, His friend say, Hey this is cool and got one himeself and so the allure of the iPhone spread everyone said it was cool and everyone wanted one.

Its the same with this chumra. The man took a personal chumra . he then tells his friend about his personal chumra and the friend says, Hey thats a great idea and also adopts this chumra and so it spreads.

At some point it hits the leadership and they say , hey this is a great idea and impose this chumra on the entire community even among those who do not like it.

And Yes the SMASHER does owe for the phone, You cannot break someone elses property for your own personal halacha. BTW it was a chassidic rov so its unlikely a non-member of that chassidic group would break a non-members phone

It seems there is some sort of rules for the Bochrim not to use the phone so they wont be tempted to get one.

I asked the Married men why they wont hold a phone and I was told it was like building a fence, One needs a fence to protect oneself sometimes

The Modern olympics have nothing to do with A”Z. While its true the ancient olympics were actually some sort of service to it.

I personally am not following it as I dont really care for the sports in it. I am a sports fan, but not a fan of all sports and I do think the IOC is a bunch of Anti-Semites and I dont need to support such an organization.

None of the victims of the Munich Massacare were religious and I think they participated in the opening ceremony on shabbos and one of the victims (A fencing coach I think) was actually married to a Shiksa, But HE DIED A JEW and he was killed because he was jewish.

And while I did not see Aly Raisman I did hear about what she did and it was a Kiddush Hashem and may be one of the biggest ones ever since it was on such a large platform (I doubt many Kiddish Hashem occured in front of over 1 Billion People)

The Lubivicher Rebbe heard that someone was coming to visit him from France. When the visitor came the band played La Marseillaise.

Since then La Marseillaise has been a Lubavicher Niggun and most dont even realize it.

Its not as hard to get there are you think. Flying to Kiev is fairly easy nowadays , No visas are needed and there are direct flights from NY.

Its about 160 miles from Kiev to Uman. About a 3 hour Bus trip.

While I would not go on this trip, One of my dream places to visit is the Ukraine, Id love to visit the towns and villages where my ancestors were from.

If a Breslover wants to go, Let them go and if a Non-breslover wants to go let them go to.

And if they cant afford it and someone else willingly pays is it any different than birthright Israel where some Gevir pays for trips to Israel for American Youth.

As long as I am not asked to give to this, I really have no problem and as long as Breslover Wives and children have no problem with this , let them go.

A burger and Fries is not healthy.

People should eat more veggies and fruit, and its true you can make healthier Chulent, but it just isnt done.

And Kugel and Kisha can never be healthy (And I happen to Love Kishka, but I dont eat it much because its poison)

I am not a Vegetarin, However I do know many people who are , are not because of PETA issues, but rather health issues.

Red Meat can be unhealthy and Veggies are much more healthier. Too much red meat causes high Colesteral and can cause Colon issues

In general Hemish cooking isnt always the most healthy, Kugel is full of fat and oil, Chulent has tons of oil and there is a lack of Green Vegetables and even fruit eaten in a hemish diet
