you have to go through the normal channels

you know college, MS degree, post grad, research, then you take the MSAT, Moderator University, interviews, etc. it really helps if one of your parents was a moderator

i have no idea why you made an account here

and please stop trying to change the subject

    in reply to: Why? #755432

    cooljude

your last post is a little ambiguous.

it sounds like you are asking if i am able to tell you the answer but the word “please” suggests that this is not actually a question at all but a request.

i dont think a question mark is appropriate following a request

    but im not positive

hopefully haifagirl can solve this dilemma.

henry stein commits a murder and doesnt even try to cover it up

instead he goes into his newly invented time machine and steps out years later, after the statute of limitations is up.

they are waiting for him and the case eventually comes before the supreme court.

the judges decision, letting him off is written:

“A niche in time saves stein.”

basically from a short story by isaac asimov called “a loint of paw”

in reply to: Pope exonerates Jews. Why now? #746287

“Rabbi David Rosen, head of interreligious affairs at the American Jewish Committee and a leader of Vatican-Jewish dialogue, said the pope’s book may make a bigger, more lasting mark than Nostra Aetate because the faithful tend to read Scripture and commentary more than church documents, particularly old church documents.

“It may be an obvious thing for Jews to present texts with commentaries, but normally with church magisterium, they present a document,” he said. “This is a pedagogical tool that he’s providing, so people will be able to interpret the text in keeping with orthodox Vatican teaching.”

Foxman put it another way, saying the pontiff’s book translates Nostra Aetate “down to the pews.”

in reply to: Pope exonerates Jews. Why now? #746286

i saw something about that but didnt pay much attention

something about the first time being obscure and being read only by scholars

and this was a different type of proclamation, more widely available to the x=an public

    something along those lines

in reply to: How the CR/MODS works #1140506

Before anything gets posted does a MOD check it over?

    always

So if someone posts something at 3 am does it get posted right away?

if a mod is on board at that time

Is there really an office where the mods are together or is it just each mod on his laptop or something?

    classified

Do the Mods decide not to post something if its lashon hora?

    they should

im assuming there are Mods in Israel

    correct

Is there a head MOD telling the other MOds what to do?

ruediger lautman was very possibly gay and his “research” very possibly skewed by this.

he says “H’s in the camps were treated in an unusually cruel manner by their captors.”

can you explain to me what this unusual cruelty was that he implies superseded how Yidden were treated?

a few days after beethoven died, someone went into his crypt.

there was beethoven, erasing all his symphonies.

the intruder said: “what are you doing?”

    beethoven answered: “decomposing”

in reply to: Cholov Yisroel Powdered Milk Kulah #1085686

    from R’ Heinemann star-k

There are some Torah scholars who permit the use of powdered milk which is made from regular milk since it is not in its original form when it comes into Jewish hands. Most people who are careful about Cholov Yisroel do not rely on this lenient ruling.

in reply to: Cholov Yisroel Powdered Milk Kulah #1085685

many Poskim hold that those who keep Cholov Yisroel can nevertheless use products made from powdered milk

in reply to: Kosher peppermint oil capsules #744086

of course they hold it is a “fat”

but what goes on the label is heavily determined by FDA regulation

as i said above Pam is 100% canola oil

    look at the label

0 gms of fat per serving

thats because the made the serving size so small they are allowed to round the amount off to zero

    read my posts again

in reply to: Kosher peppermint oil capsules #744084

    peppermint tea contains peppermint oil

in fact it contains the exact amout of peppermint oil that the Boreh put in it

the intense smell of peppermint tea comes solely from the oil

in reply to: Kosher peppermint oil capsules #744083

“Frequently, “diet food” is not different from regular food. A loaf of bread claiming to have 25% fewer Calories per slice than the regular bread may actually be sliced 25% thinner and sell for a higher price than the regular bread. Reduction of the serving size is often used by manufacturers as a way of reducing the calories per serving. As a consequence, if the amount of fat or other nutrient falls below 0.5 gram per serving, the manufacturer may round it to zero. Coffee creamers, for example, may contain 30% or 40% fat, but by defining the serving size as one teaspoon, the manufacturer may claim that one serving has zero fat, even though one teaspoon may not be a sufficient amount to whiten a cup of coffee. It may take two or three servings to do the job. Examination of the weight of the serving sizes and the ingredients list can frequently be used to identify this type of misinformation.”

in reply to: Kosher peppermint oil capsules #744082

    yeah

and if you look at the nutrition label for PAM which is 100% oil you will see fat content per serving: zero!

those labels have all kinds of crazy legal loopholes
