probably because no one want to tread on the original path
YW Moderator-80Memberi think she seplls as well as you.
YW Moderator-80Memberwhole wheat is unrefined, most of the whole kernel is ground up, without removing anything except the inedible husk.
refined grain has the bran and the germ removed, leaving only the starch and a little protein.
refined grain can then be further ruined by bleaching to make it look whiter, but it still is refined even without the bleach.
so you can have refined (as opposed to whole wheat) Matzoh, but you cant have bleached-flour Matzoh.
the term “white” flour can refer to refined flour either bleached or unbleached.
YW Moderator-80Member(thats what goes on in the threads not behind the scenes)

We appreciate your concern and do not doubt the veracity of your complaints. I have traced your ip address and confirm that it indeed comes from a shoe company.
There are individuals who consider themselves religious Jews who do engage in such unethical behavior. We are ashamed of them and note that though they seem to be religious Jews, in fact they are not. You must know that this type of behavior stands in direct opposition to our Holy Torah and to all that Moses, our teacher, has instructed us.
We are very sorry for the mistaken impression of Jewry as a whole that these despicable thieves have created in the minds of righteous Gentiles such as yourself, and if my apology can at all minimize this mistaken impression, then I apologize for these people who live among us.

write down the following: “zenni” on a piece of paper.
put the paper in a safe place.
after Pesach do a google search for zenni.
YW Moderator-80Memberbecause ive seen it
see: http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/smokers-1?view=all#post-236121
and many of these men were willing to give their lives for their country and principles. im pretty sure they would give their lives for their children as well. but to give up cigarettes, they couldnt. some people are able to, some arent.
i dont understand this force, not at all, but it is real and powerful.
as was the powerful tayvah for Avodah Zarah, which no longer exists and we cannot begin to understand.
when a Tanna spoke disparagingly of the wicked Menashe, who had died. Menashe came to him that night in a dream and told him that had you been alive in those times you would have grabbed onto my garment in your enthusiasm to worship Avodah Zara with me
YW Moderator-80Memberstam coffee goes best with chit-chat
lattes and espresso are best for intellectual discussions
YW Moderator-80Memberim just guessing, really shouldnt be doing this but what i meant is that in almost everything the Rabbaim set a shiur, i was saying maybe he meant that even when the shiur is reached and the yeush is chal, there is never really complete yeush because that is not the way of human nature
YW Moderator-80MemberGemorrah?
i have been referring to the quote of Rav Nachman, tz’l
YW Moderator-80Memberwhen i worked in a respiratory icu the following was a daily scenario:
a veteran (most were veterans) is admitted to the icu in dire distress, struggling for every breath, close to death and in a severe panic, much like it must be to drown.
he is taken care of, makes it through alive.
as soon as he is able to get around, he takes his iv pole, goes outside of the hospital, lights up his unfiltered cigarette, holds it to his tracheostomy and puffs away, one cigarette after the other.

i dont know why you addressed your comments to me. i did not give any excuse for a smoker to continue, i in fact said: “everyone who smokes MUST stop”
i was simple replying to the quote above my comments that stated that a smoker who is unable to quit lacks middos and brains
YW Moderator-80Membertotal guess
maybe he meant that even though there is a certain level at which yeush acts similar to hefker, truly there is no complete yeush because a human being, no matter how hopeless and even impossible it seems, still has an attachment to his property and on some deep level still thinks hell get it back, something like that.
or if were talking about yeush as in giving up hope in life, maybe he meant something similar to what i conjectured about property.
YW Moderator-80Memberis that what was meant, yeush about life, as opposed to a state of mind that allows changes, like in property ownership?
and the quote seems to be saying that in whichever case, yeush doesnt even exist, not that its bad.
YW Moderator-80Member…so lacking in middos and brains that he is a smoker…it speaks terribly of the person who smokes.
everyone who smokes must stop.
but you do not understand what an extremely powerful addiction it is.
YW Moderator-80Memberwhat did Rav Nachman, t’zl mean?
April 13, 2011 4:18 pm at 4:18 pm in reply to: Free Prescription Glasses – VERY Limited Time #806985YW Moderator-80Memberat zenni optical online you can get prescription glasses, the whole package, lenses and frames, including shipping for $9.95, all the time, no coupon necessary. and the lenses are thinner than 1.5 index.
previous customers are not excluded.
you can get as many pairs as you want.
YW Moderator-80Memberi also think its ridiculous that there has to be a special college to teach people how to elect someone. you just use common sense, why do you need a degree?
YW Moderator-80Memberwhat are you, a butcher?
YW Moderator-80Memberyes, and how come lemons have such a bad reputation anyway. they are wonderful, lemon meringue pie, i wouldnt drink tea without lemon, lemonade on a hot day, and they can make the blandest fish taste delicious.
and ever hear advertisements talk about “lemon fresh scent”?
YW Moderator-80Memberbar shattya
why does that type of “humor” seem so familiar?
YW Moderator-80Memberto some of us, the Minhagim of our Bubbies and Zadies are very dear to us, and not shtusim, even if the original cause for the Minhag (which is not always as clear and simple as you would think)is no longer applicable
YW Moderator-80Memberwell where you are living now, there is really not any good pizza.
YW Moderator-80Memberyou cant tell which mods are working by their posting
many mods dont post at all
i often mod without posting
YW Moderator-80Memberokay
YW Moderator-80Memberyou are mistaken
people with celiac disease can have a number of different grains. they can have yeast. it is only during Pesach that they need to eat gluten-free matzoh.
there are a some people (having nothing to do with celiac disease) who feel that yeast is harmful to them, though this is not a recognized medical condition, but even for them there are other leavening agents
YW Moderator-80Memberyou mean leavened dough cant be eaten by persons with celiac disease? they have to eat matzoh?

of course
but one has to use seichel
there are times when one needs to refrain from what would otherwise do when it will cause a chilul Hashem
and there are times when one must not
it is usually a shayla but one always has to use seichel and sometimes ask a Talmid Chochum
what Hashem wants comes first, ALWAYS, not what the goyim will think.
IF in this case it is better to risk possible unforseen disastrous events that may eventually arise from an innocent display of friendliness and warmth, then so be it.
if not, then so be it. but it is a consideration and a shayla.
a crucial one
April 8, 2011 4:07 pm at 4:07 pm in reply to: How to remain neutral with the boys in college #758783YW Moderator-80Memberwere not talking about saving a life. we arent talking about even saying cruel things or similar forms of rudeness. we are talking about whether or not there is a SHAYLA (as some have said there is not) of withholding warmth even though it may be perceived as being “rude” by american liberal goyish standards.
we have our standards.
YW Moderator-80Memberthey are in fact under water and under ground.
you might argue that “in” is more specific.
April 8, 2011 3:49 pm at 3:49 pm in reply to: How to remain neutral with the boys in college #758780YW Moderator-80Memberflowers you didnt go out with him?
you disappointed him?
you hurt his feelings?
maybe even publicly embarrassed him?
this was against all good Middos and a chilul Hashem.
you should have gone out with him and over dinner explained to him what it means to b a Jewish woman and why you cant go out with him again (unless not going out a second time will be a chilul Hashem)
April 8, 2011 3:22 pm at 3:22 pm in reply to: When you see Holocaust era films, how do they affect you? #757261YW Moderator-80Memberi dont mean to argue on your grandmother, but other survivors have said that for a non-survivor to watch the most realistic of these movies even the most gruesome documentary footage does not even begin to give any understanding whatsoever of the Holocaust.
in addition it is very unfortunate because it causes us non-survivors to think we DO have a little idea of the horrors and what happened to the Neshamas and personalities of those that were there. can you imagine how a survivor feels when non-survivors think they understand what happened to them and actually have no idea whatsoever.
April 8, 2011 3:16 pm at 3:16 pm in reply to: How to remain neutral with the boys in college #758775YW Moderator-80Membersometimes a Jew has to act in a manner that the goyim might not approve of
i dont know if this is one of those times
but its not pashut that one must be concerned about not appearing rude when ones eternal life is at stake
April 8, 2011 3:13 pm at 3:13 pm in reply to: How to remain neutral with the boys in college #758774YW Moderator-80Memberits not surprising that some people dont even know what the shayla is

i dont need it at all
it is a reasonable answer that if a questioner had any honest interest in discovering the probable truth instead of finding a reason to reject any possible response to her desired answer of “there is no boss over me”, would be cause for deeper thought and investigation.
you cant “prove” anything to anyone. i have no proof that there is not a lion waiting just outdoor my house in the morning. but a reasonable person conducts her life by what is reasonable.
YW Moderator-80MemberWhy do adults talk baby talk to little ones?
How are they ever going to learn to speak correctly if they don’t hear correct speech from adults?
how indeed?
i know SO many adults who still speak baby talk because adults spoke baby talk to them. this is a problem which has reached epidemic proportions.
and how will babies learn to be mature adults if we keep treating them like babies?
this is even a worse problem.
April 6, 2011 5:24 pm at 5:24 pm in reply to: Especially good at clarifying "How do we know Hashem exists?" to a young adult #778447YW Moderator-80Memberthanks popa
that question never “bothered” me, but i thought about it.
and i couldnt come up with an answer
there probably is no perfectly rigorous answer but what you said, though quite simple, is a good answer to me.
YW Moderator-80MemberOnce some one is used to getting something for nothing, they will never feel good about paying you for it.
which is why we have to work on being constantly be grateful to Hashem for all the kindliness he showers upon us every moment, every breath, every heartbeat, every moment we are alive.
YW Moderator-80Membera23 is absolutely correct
your own mask goes on before the baby
i imagine its because if the parent passes out, whos going to put the mask on the baby and keep it in place
