I prefer the pareve cholent from Eli’s Bagels and Pizza Garden in Spring Valley.
YW Moderator-72ParticipantWIY – it is a radio frequency chip. with this in your card by some stores and gas stations all you need to do is hold your or wave your card near the reading device and it picks up the information. criminals buy these reading devices and can read cards from people in their vicinity. you can be shopping anywhere or even walking down the street and if your RFID chip is unprotected someone can steal your information.
I know many people in Monsey that have had their cards duplicated and either used or attempted to be used around the world (England, Canada, parts of the US where they were nowhere near).
YW Moderator-72Participantif your card has a radio frequency ID chip in it – all the information can be stolen. my card was attempted to be used in Delaware while also being used in NY (properly). have your bank issue a card without the RFID chip or you can locate the chip and punch it out with a hole puncher. to destroy the chip put it in a microwave for 10 seconds. you can google how to do this.
alternatively you can by a protective sleeve for the card but you would still be vulnerable each time you take it out to pay for something.

April 8, 2013 12:45 am at 12:45 am in reply to: Questions About Monsey's Litvish/Chasidish Sociological Mix #1132801YW Moderator-72ParticipantI had a friend that went to camp and those that went with him came from all backgrounds – Yeshivish, Chassidish, non-religious and everything in-between.
The only thing they had in common was that they were Jews when they entered the camp. Upon leaving the camp – they had 2 things in common – 1) they were still Jews and 2) they had either no or very few relatives left.
They were all of different backgrounds yet they shares bunkhouses and bunkbeds. Sadly, many of them shares the same “showers”.
YW Moderator-72Participantwe just enjoyed a pizza from Eli’s Bagels and Pizza Garden in Spring Valley. Delicious!

YW Moderator-72ParticipantWe hired a reputable business and we knew going into the chassunah that we were getting one of the workers as the owner was already booked. the pics and video came out great but…
Towards the end the photographer went to my father or father-in-law (I don’t remember which) and demanded a tip and was told that he is paid by the owner and shouldn’t be demanding a tip. when we got the proofs I noticed that several pics from the end of the wedding were missing. pics with certain guests and family that I remember posing for.
We spoke to the owner about the shake down for a tip and the missing pics. Naturally, the worker denied the whole thing. The owner told us that the next time we make a wedding if we hire his company – he will free himself up to make sure he is there and will give us special pricing. He held to his word 3 years later when my brother got married.

“Really, is this your opinion?”
yes, it is my opinion. Another one of my opinions is never to rely upon the opinions of an anonymous self described student of health sciences.
“You must have never told us your opinion before. (Not)”
and you have told us your opinions.
“Anyway, thanks for sharing!”
it was my pleasure and is this the new and improved, milder you? You were a bit snarky with the “not” comment but not nearly as down right nasty as you usually are. keep it up!
YW Moderator-72ParticipantI’m still of the opinion you should seek medical information from a known medical professional and not from this or other non-reliable medical blogs.
With that said, I use the mayo clinic website as my first stop in online medical advice/knowledge shopping – but I rely on my Doctors for the actual treatment programs and to clarify all questions that I may have.
I think that this blog can be used as a support group for individuals seeking others going through similar situations to discuss various associated issues.
there is the diabetes support group, Celiac just started. there was one for clubfoot another for depression…
I have enough confidence in the readers and posters in this blog that they know how to search reliable sites and when to ask a known medical professional and not to rely on any medical advice given here.

“A good portion of the bloodshed lies squarely on the hands of the Tzionim. They Raitzed on the Goyim by making a Medina -thereby increasing their hatred and subsequently their violence ten-fold!”
… and with that he has squarely aligned himself with Mahmaoud’s Rebbi and the rest of the nk because as everyone knows the goyim LOVED the Jews throughout the time when we were exiled up until November 1947. They adored us. They held us in the highest esteem and hardly ever bothered us throughout the ages. When they did pester us – it was always against the Zionist element and not against the rest of the Yidden. Countries welcomed us with open arms and made us feel right at home…
I for one am sick of the argument that the Zionist is the cause of the hatred that the goyim have for Jews. I guess the concept of esav hates Yaakov means nothing to the health and the rest of his ilk. face it health and the rest of the nk – esav hates us. They hate: chareidim, Litvish, MO, non-observant, Zionists and anti-zionists. They don’t care about our style of dress or type of head covering we wear.
The entire portion of the bloodshed lies with those that are committing the terrorist attacks against the Yidden and for you to call yourself a G-d fearing and righteous Jew and blame the death of arab killed Jews on Jews is reprehensible.
Go ahead and post your rebuttal – I won’t read it and I encourage all others of the fine and wonderful posters here to not read it and to stop responding to your nonsense.

Regarding sticker hechsherim.
The way to know what added KASHRUS benefit the sticker provides to the kosher consumer is to ask the name printed on the sticker. You’d be surprised at how often the answer is NOTHING. Often, it is nothing more than a marketing strategy.
Caveat Emptor.
_______________
chocandpatience –> not correct
apushatayid –> correct
I did something similar to this a few Purims ago. I saw a sticker on a box without a hechscher. Other candies from that company had a hechscher. I called the company and asked who gives the kosher certification and they told me. I asked about the name on the sticker and they told me they never heard of him. I called the Rav who gives the hechsher and asked him if the other Rabbis give a hechsher to this Company and he told me that as far as he knows only he does and no other Hechsher agency has contacted him nor has the “sticker” rabbi. I asked about the boxes without his hechsher if they were kosher and he sent me a complete list. it turns out that the “sticker” Rabbi put his sticker on products under kosher supervision and were 100% kosher – but he never did anything more than check the websites (if he even did that) to ascertain their kosher status. Note: back then some of the items that this candy company produces is not kosher and contains dyes from non-kosher sources – I do not know about now.
So why will people rely on the “sticker” Rabbi and not on the Rav who actually did and continues to do all the work?
YW Moderator-72Participant1) if I recall correctly – not all ingredients need to be printed on the label – I think if it is less than 2% it does not need to be included.
2) years ago when Nabisco started printing on the boxes 100% vegetable shortening I had the opportunity to discuss this with a person who worked in the baking division. I was selling suits at the time and we were talking as he was trying on and being fitted. I asked him about the 100% vegetable shortening and he told me not to believe it. His reason was that if he finished a run that was not 100$ vegetable shortening ie. it was lard, they would not empty and clean the vat with from the lard – rather they would just add vegetable shortening to the vat.

yes according to health (and now you) he is the medical gadol hador – but truth be told: to real Doctors – what is he?

Note to health: As I have said before – I have nothing against you and IRL you are probably a very nice person. your screen persona (as many have pointed out) comes across as a know-it-all, pompous individual who looks down on those who dare disagree or post against you. Many people feel uncomfortable with your posting style. try toning it down a bit and other posters will have less trouble with how you say things (they may still object to what you say – but that is life in the blogosphere). go ahead have the last word.
YW Moderator-72ParticipantI do not think that the CR should be posting medical advice on how to do surgery on oneself from Doc Google Cutandpaste or anyone else. It is irresponsible. Please delete his post.
the proper advice was already given those who said to go to a real doctor.

and being as you asked
Does your wife and others (family, friends) constantly tell you how funny you are? If they do, that’s their opinion, Not Mine!
the answer is constantly tell me: NO! Frequently? NO. A bunch of times in the course of the year? NO! Once every so often? perhaps. Many times they laugh at my jokes, quips and humorous stories (many times – not all times. Even Johny Carson didn’t get a laugh every time but at least he had an applause and laugh monitor for his audience). YES, they really do – sorry I am not going to post a video as proof. you will have to trust me that they do – but if you want to doubt it – fine by me – I will still sleep well. Yes, it is there opinion that I am a humorous person and not yours – but it is their opinion that counts in my life and Not Yours (caps to match your caps)! (note: this was not a personal attack just a statement of fact – even if you cannot google it).
I am sure that your spouse and family consider you the gadol hador in the health sciences world. I am sure that they view you as a kind, compassionate, caring and warm person. Perhaps IRL you come across that way because perhaps IRL you are – I haven’t a clue. My concern is the way you come off here in cyber-world and that you make people feel (very) uncomfortable.
You were given some good advice up there (even if it wasn’t googled from a valid medical website – one with the health hecksher). Perhaps you should think about it and follow it.

mod-72 (Retired) to health: This is called a personal attack. When you question the intelligence or education level of another poster it is called a personal attack.
Disagreeing with you or arguing on your comments is not a personal attack. It may make you uncomfortable. It may irritate you. It may even cause you to wonder just how foolish a person may be because they disagree or argue with you. It may be all these things and more – but it is NOT a personal attack

My comments have nothing to do with a grudge – I don’t hold grudges. 1) for it to qualify as a grudge it would be because you “beat” me at something and now I need to get even – this never happened,
2) each of my posts has to do with your current comments – the only history is the reminding everybody what you said about yourself being a student of health sciences – which I interpret as a person who can google, cut and paste because all you discuss is the straight “science” – you take out the human equation.
