Use the add-on AdBlockPlus in Firefox and FlashBlock. They will get rid of most. To get rid of all images use ImgLikeOpera. You can set filters in ImgLikeOpera to load pictures from sites like YW

Ahh. In that case, perhaps I’m a little of both. This is a tough question how to define myself. Of course wherever I go I have my CR friends partying with me even when I’m alone on the range where the deer and kimosabe play

All these are great suggestions but are not things that can just be “added” by the mods. These require changes to the web site by Duvys which you need to speak to The Editor about. This last post about having a link to “page 2” would actually be very useful. It exists on the main page where you can click to see older posts but the CR does not have this feature yet.

We’re not talking about “looking”. The question is close friendships. I would assume that any “close friendships” would fall under the issur of “lo sikrivu”.

And I don’t think Joseph answered the question [as usual :)]. The question was where in the psukim do we see this issur with regards to Eishes Ish

Hmmm. I assume that there is an issur of lo sikrivu by Eishes Ish. Though you seem to be right that it doesn’t fall under “sh’er bisaro” or nidda. I can definitely see it m’svara though we need a pasuk.

It’s been awhile since I learned meseches Yevamos so I can’t remember all the limudim but I’m pretty sure that we learn all issurei erva from each other.

Maybe Joseph can help us out

If a friend of mine tells me something is assur but can’t provide a source I would probably be choshesh for it.

If a random, anonymous person online tells me that something is assur, I would be less inclined to be choshesh – especially if that random, anonymous somebody is known to have radical opinions

I think that we have explained this to you before, Joseph. You are like the boy who cried wolf (no relation to The Wolf). Nobody listens to you because you present too many chumros as halacha and are therefore known as a radical zealot.

I was just wondering, where in the Torah does it say it’s asur to for a man and woman to be friends?

    Vayikra 18:6 and 18:19

I think that covers all married and single women over Bas Mitzvah

    aries2756:

There is also a person who is known as a “dating coach”. This is a person that is very knowledgeable and knows how to guide a young person through the process. The point of the dating coach is for the young person to have ONE individual who can help and not be discussing the dates with 10 friends and get ten opinions. The coach is completely non-biased and doesn’t claim to know that person better than they know themselves. They are a good sounding board and can help them navigate through the process without getting emotional calling the date a “nerd” for doing or not doing a certain thing. They point out was is normal and why they should give the date another chance and so on.

    “like”

Everyone should have a “dating coach” – a real one, not an “older friend” but a real experienced person who knows what they are talking about.

Just to add some more confusion, The RO”V is R’ Ovadia Bartenura.

I have always heard R’ Velvel referred to as “The Brisker Rov” and R’ Y. B. Soleveitchik as “The Rav”.

The real confusion is when people refer to “The Rosh Yeshiva”

A Torch is a type of blackberry.

    Download the Opera Mini browser.

App is short for application. Apple is known for their “apps”. Blackberrys have apps as well. Same concept.

I think PDA stands for Personal Digital Assistant which I think is another way of referring to smart phones
