    Goq:

“The Campptown ladies sing this song,

    Doo-da, Doo-da”

    Sounds like Kol isha

I went down there with my hat caved in,

    Doo-da, doo-da

    Sounds like Camp Chabad 🙂

The little is calling, it wishes to return.

The little bird is wounded, it cannot fly

    but yearn.

It’s captured by the vultures, crying

    bitterly”

“Oh, to see my nest again, oh to be

    redeemed.”

The little bird of silver, so delicate and

    rare,

    Still chirps among the vultures,

    outshining all that’s there.

How long, how long it suffers, how long

    will it be

When will come the eagle and set the

    little bird free

The little bird is yisroel, the vultures are

    our foes.

The painful wound is golus, which we all

    feel and know.

The nest is yerushalaim, where we yearn

    to be once more.

And the eagle is moshiach, whom we are

    waiting for.

    CHORUS

    Ain’t gonna work on Saturday

    Ain’t gonna work on Saturday

    Double, double, triple pay

Won’t make me work on Saturday

    Ain’t gonna work on Saturday

    It’s shabbos kodesh

    Repeat chorus after each stanza.

    I’m big Gedalia Goomber

    I’m not exactly small

But really not so very big

    Just seventeen feet tall

    I’m really rigged for working

    For that I’m very fit

Six days a week I’m at it

And on the seventh day I quit

I once helped raise a building

    And on the hundredth floor

I was carrying a load of bricks

    An easy ton or more

And her, it’s late on Friday

I knew I’d have to stop

So I yelled, “Watch out below!”

And let the whole thing drop

    At driving a locomotive

    I thought I’d take a crack

I had the throttle wide open

    Zooming down the track

    And here it’s almost shabbos

    The sun’s about to set

So I dove into a mud hole

And the train is running yet

I worked down in a coal mine

    And lost myself alright

I couldn’t tell the days apart

    Because there was no light

So I set myself to digging

Just as fast as you may please

And popped up in an hour

    Where the people speak chinese

    I had a job a dandy

    On a construction crew

A great big mountain had us stuck

    We couldn’t dig it through

And soon it will be shabbos

    But not say I’m proud

    I took that stubborn mountain

And kicked it on a cloud

    I turned to deep-sea diving

    And took an awful chance

    On a sunken steamer’s deck

I got caught by my pants

    And trapped beneath the ocean

    I couldn’t set me free

But I went home for shabbos

And dragged the boat with me

    I once was an explorer

    To Africa I went

    One shabbos hungry lions

    Came roaring round my tent

    My assistant held my rifel

    “Go Goomber shoot these pests.”

But I called them in instead

    To be my shabbos guest

    Once to split an atom

    With effort I had learned

    Suddenly there was a blast

    boy did I get burned

    Everyone was so worried

So the doctors I did tell

That by keeping the shabbos holy

I will soon be fit and well

    I worked at Cape Kennedy

    And things were going right

A great big rocket ship was set

    On a launching site

    And here it’s getting dark

    Shabbos was coming soon

So I pushed the starting button

And spent shabbos on the moon

    I once was an astronaut

    And flying through the stars

I came across a space ship

    Whose pilots were from Mars

    I said “Hello there Martians”

    And stayed with them

Until I taught them to keep the shabbos

    And they’re keeping shabbos still

I dress my best on shabbos

Three meals I feast me fine

    I make a royal kiddush

On a barrel full of wine

And when I sing my zemiros

For a thousand miles they know

    That I’m enjoying shabbos

For hashem has told us so

    We’ve existed so long

For the Torah kept us strong

And the Torah will never disappear- oh,

    no

Through the ages it was brought

By the children, who were taught

To follow it and constantly declare

    I’m a Jew and I’m proud

And I’ll sing it out loud

‘Cuz forever that’s what I’ll be

    I’m a Jew and I’m proud

Yossi, tomorrow will be your first time

You’ll be in Camp Mogen Av

Don’t worry, remember I was nervous too

As I share sweet memories that I had.

    High part:

Those summers as a child are trapped in my heart

Fond memories still make me cry

I give you this treasure, enrich your whole life

I wouldn’t flippantly call a whole group of Jews “reshaim”, they might be tinok shenishba or somewhere in between. Rasha is a very strong term (which should only be used by The Wolf in reference to himself).

I heard from a “3rd party” quoting the Business Halacha institute that since El Al is run by non-frum Jews there is less of an issue of Ta’us Yisroel. V’tzarich iyun.

My assumption (not really based on anything) is that El Al is a mostly Jewish company and all halachos would apply to it while Orbitz, Expedia, etc as well as the “3rd party” are all non-Jewish. But it is either El Al or the “3rd Party” who is losing money here so the halacha would probably depend on that.

” to do so would be to make a huge kiddush Hashem – imagine the effect of a bunch of yidden doing something like that… “

I have seen many people make this tayna, but I don’t think there is much Kiddush Hashem invilved here, there were hundreds, if not thousadns of people who booked a whole bunch of flights for themselves, fmaily, friends, etc knowing that they can check scheduling, etc later and then cancel within 24 hours any “extra” flights. So I’m sure there were many cancellations today but the companies only see that as people cancelling flights that they were never planning on taking rather than people cancelling because it is “the right thing to do”

“Wolf: 42’s point was that even if someone is smart, does not mean that what they are doing is correct or justified.”

This is indeed what I meant by the post. I did not chas v’shalom mean to compare your friend to Hitler, I was just trying to point out that “smart” does not necessarily mean “good”. There are some who can learn daf yomi and understand it and some who can only learn a few lines of gemara per day and understand it. There are many men who it is wrong for them to learn daf yomi because they don’t get much out of it and could be using their time better by covering less ground but going more in depth. L’fum tzara agra. My point was that just because she is smart doesn’t mean she was always right and many, if not most, people here on this forum believe that women learning daf yomi is wrong. I’m sorry if I offended you with the comment.

    1) Run Windows Update, install all available updates including the upgrade to IE8.

    2) I suggest using Firefox rather than IE (but still keep your IE up to date)

    3) For the stand-by problem, go to the advanced power settings. One way to get there is right-click the desktop and choose properties. Go to the screen-saver tab and there should be an option for power settings. I suggest using Hibernate rather than stand-by (either way, make sure u don’t use it so often that u forget to reboot, most problems I have experienced were solved by a simple reboot).

    5) It could be you do have viruses, make sure your anti-virus program is running and up to date, run a full scan. I would also suggest running a scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (Google mbam)

    6) The newer versions of Flash give you the option to have it update automatically so you don’t ever have to bother with it again.

    7) It could be that you do not have administrator privileges so Windows is not allowing Flash to install.

    7) There is no number 4 so I added a 2nd number 7.

If Hashem gave him the z’chus to be such a big supporter of Torah we should give him kavod (see Igeres haRamban for similar loshon).

There are many rich people out there who give nothing to our worthy causes. Some of these people give nothing at all. Some give to help save the whales. Some give to political parties. These people have so much money and are not zoche to use it to acquire Olam Habbah. But the people you are referring to were zoche. That says a lot. Don’t underestimate that.

if someone from Beis Shammai was invited to speak at an event, would the talmidim of Beis Hillel not come in protest?

You don’t have to agree with “the other group”‘s mehalech, but they are Jews too, they are talmidei chachamim too, and this event had nothing to do with the particular machlokes so why not have achdus? Why not put politics aside and make a kiddush Hashem and give kavod to Torah. (Unless you are considering a whole group of Jews to be apikorsim and therefore not b’chlal amisecha)
