Are there any Dougies still open?
YW Moderator-42ModeratorCar services are expensive, the girl should offer to dribe or take public transit.
YW Moderator-42ModeratorSame way you get to Carnegie Hall…
YW Moderator-42ModeratorGoq, what do you think of Pope Francesa I? Do you think he should reunite with Cardinal Russo?
YW Moderator-42ModeratorThe underlying “physics” behind the magic is much better explained and makes more sense in Eragon. The way it works in HP leads to too many stiras/kashas onpf why couldn’t they just do such-and-such.
YW Moderator-42ModeratorThere is no coca-cola on the moon. There is no 770 replica on the moon. This proves conclusively that it can’t be landed on.
YW Moderator-42ModeratorEragon and HP are my 2 favorite series – not sure witch is better, different styles. Though I’m currently leaning toward Eragon – better character and world development. The magic system in Eragon makes more sense.
YW Moderator-42ModeratorI use email to build snowmen and slice bread. Teenagers should be building snowmen and slicing bread so that’s fine as long as they aren’t socializing.
YW Moderator-42ModeratorWhen Dumbledore told them to go back in time, he already knew that Buckbeak and Sirius had escaped. He realized what must have happened and therefore was able to tell Hermione what to do. Nothing changed. They were just in 2 places at once as everything was happening.
YW Moderator-42ModeratorYou can’t go back in time to change the past, only to be mekayeim what already happened. Everything that happens after they go back in time already happened the “first time around”.
Hermione couldn’t go back to charms once she missed class because she missed it – it didn’t happen the first time so therefore never happened and never can.
YW Moderator-42Moderator1am Hawaii time?

YW Moderator-42ModeratorJust because they are “not accepting new members” doesn’t mean they won’t search for you. It just means that they are full and aren’t obligating themselves to you.
You choose 2 matchmakers, those matchmakers are obligated to search for you once a week or something (otherwise they get kicked off the site, I’m not sure the rules exactly).
But any matchmaker can do a search and suggest shidduchim for you if they want.
And you will come up in their searches when they are working on others (if a matchmaker does a search for a boy, your profile might come up as a possible match based on the database’s algorithm and then the shadchan can suggest the match whether you are “in their network” or not).
Bottom line, sign up and see what happens. It’s not a scam.
YW Moderator-42ModeratorOn an ipod you can slow down or speed up mp3’s if they are audiobooks or podcasts. In itunes on the computer right click the file, choose info and there should be a choice to change media type to podcast, audiobook, etc. (default is “music”). The annoying thing is that itunes itself doesn’t have the option to play at the different speeds so you have to listen from the ipod.
YW Moderator-42ModeratorPopa is mean
YW Moderator-42ModeratorContinuing the discussion from http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/salad-dressing-1
1/3 mayo, 1/3 ketchup, 1/3 salsa
YW Moderator-42ModeratorI’m mekayem biur chametz with cookies, donuts, cakes…
YW Moderator-42ModeratorThe ipod touch records without any added gadget. And on that note, thee ipod touch is a very cool invention.
Annoying invention – those credit card readers that never seem to work, and the touch screen that u are supposed to sign that also doesn’t work. The kind of readers where you just waive your card in front of it is awesome – and so is the touchscreen when it works.
YW Moderator-42ModeratorBaruch Hashem, the snow is all melted. Tomorrow we shall March Fourth toward Spring!
YW Moderator-42ModeratorIn preparation for Pesach we are supposed to drink 4 cups every night between Purim and Pesach. Some are machmir and drink more than 4 and do it starting Chanuka.
YW Moderator-42ModeratorSo he is immortal, maybe JKR should now write a book about 200 years in the future where Harry goes into the forest and retrieves the stone in order to be with his family and friends who are all gone. Eventually he goes crazy and becomes the most evil Dark Lord ever – with the help of the shadow of Tom Riddle which comes out of the stone to help him.
YW Moderator-42ModeratorRabbi: you walk an hour to shul, you should at least daven!
Congregant: Daven?! I can do that at home.
YW Moderator-42ModeratorHe kinda did die already – in the forest. So each did die at the hand of the other.
YW Moderator-42ModeratorPage 106 of Prisoner of Azkaban:
“. . . and there’s a thing here,” [Ron] turned the [teacup] again, “that looks like a hippo . . . no, a sheep . . .”
Professor Trelawney whirled around as Harry let out a snort of laughter.
YW Moderator-42ModeratorThe Saturday dish went off at a run with the silver Sunday spoon.
YW Moderator-42ModeratorThere is no Joseph. There is no CR.
YW Moderator-42ModeratorIt’s not just popa who bumps a lot of threads, Joseph does that too…
YW Moderator-42ModeratorIs a dolt like a snortface?
YW Moderator-42ModeratorI met a few over Purim.
YW Moderator-42ModeratorI can make noise with a graggar, very talented.
February 22, 2013 9:15 am at 9:15 am in reply to: Things that are ok to say in Hebrew but not in English #996152YW Moderator-42ModeratorAs WIY said, it is a lashon nikiya. A nicer, more refined way of saying it.
Perhaps the fact that you are using “Lashon HaKodesh” – The Holy Language – makes it better.
The Torah which has no extra words added “extra words” to refer to a non-Kosher animal as “not tahor” rather than “tamei”.
The words we say affect us more than we realize and it couldn’t hurt to say things in a nicer way.
On a lighter note, in honor of Purim, there might be an inyan to not saying the name of The Dark Lord ^_^
YW Moderator-42ModeratorSome people have a natural musical talent and can teach themselves without ever pick’ing up a book or taking lessons. For others it is harder.
YW Moderator-42ModeratorI think Popa is looking for a girl who davens vasikin daily.
YW Moderator-42ModeratorWhat is the inyan of davening vasikin on Purim (besides the same inyan that applies every day of the year)?
Does it apply to women too?
February 22, 2013 8:53 am at 8:53 am in reply to: How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? #931783YW Moderator-42Moderator6 more weeks of Purim!

YW Moderator-42ModeratorNo
YW Moderator-42ModeratorStill hungry, time for a midnight snack…
YW Moderator-42Moderatorhttp://www.theyeshivaworld.com/news/archive/157939/Is+that+L’Chaim+Worthwhile?.html
This article says to drink in moderation on Purim so I guess will noderate while drinking…
YW Moderator-42Moderator42
YW Moderator-42ModeratorMost of the “problems” people have with Purim are the hard alcohol and beer parties Purim night – these have about as much a “mekor” as drinking at a SZ or on Shabbos. The mitzvah that I know of is to drink wine Purim day. Halevei that kids today would only do that.
YW Moderator-42ModeratorPurple, Purim Torah are funny divrei torah, such as vorts based on misreadings of psukim/chazal (vashti asesa mishtei nashim) or lomdish vorts based on non-Torah sources (fairy tales). Read the ones in this thread, they are very funny if you get them. I guess girls who don’t learn gemara can’t appreciate the humor as much.
YW Moderator-42ModeratorIf you add your little friend who visited your classroom the other day to some chocolate you can have chocolate mouse. Then you can add some antlers to it. Viola! Don’t get any on your guitar.
YW Moderator-42ModeratorGo to the bakery and buy a big chocolate chip cookie. Then go to Dunkin donuts, buy a black, non-flavored coffee, and pour it on the cookie. Viola!
Serve with beans and nachos.
February 18, 2013 9:05 am at 9:05 am in reply to: Was munching on tortilla chips and got an idea… #930610YW Moderator-42ModeratorI use either yellow or white American cheese squares. Those are easiest to use and fit well when quartered.

YW Moderator-42ModeratorIs Tebow the next pope?
Speaking of which, now that Joseph is stepping down as pope, will he be posting more?
YW Moderator-42ModeratorThe most important thing for a seminary is that it shud hav its own thread in the CR, so popa, please start a new thread for each of ur sems!!!
