It depends what you are looking for. Where do you want to stay, hotel or apt? There are many apts for rent on a daily basis. check the hamodia or the yated. If you’ve already toured than maybe you don’t have to plan an itinerary you can just meander and enjoy. Have you toured Ir Dovid or done the Kotel tunnels? Both are beyond amazing and worthwhile. You have to do both with groups so you would not need your son for company. Whatever you do Enjoy immensly.
YW Moderator-18ModeratorDo you need to register your cards?
November 7, 2013 7:01 am at 7:01 am in reply to: How much do you give your wife per week for the family budget? #987955YW Moderator-18ModeratorThis question is unfair as we do not know the particulars. A family with 10 children requires a lot more than a newly wed couple. Also depending where you live expenses differ. We also do not know what is included in her budget. Without much more info it is unfair of us to criticize your wife. (To be honest it is not really our business.)
YW Moderator-18ModeratorThere is a bus to lakewood about 6 times a day. It leaves from Flatbush and Boro Park.
October 24, 2013 8:58 pm at 8:58 pm in reply to: How to deal with someone embarrassing you in public #982888YW Moderator-18Moderatorkeep, it is very mesugal time to give a bracha. I’ve read in a few places that someone who is embarrassed and doesn’t respond negatively to the person who is embarrassing them, their brachos at that time have tremendous power. So if it ever happens again think of yourself or those you know that need a yeshua and give a heartfelt bracha.
YW Moderator-18ModeratorChocolate!!!
YW Moderator-18Moderatorshalom, many would be happy to take it off your hands, me included. yes you can use it for tea. They sell the cups in tea and also hot chocolate if you are not makpid cholov yisroel. you can also use it for hot water. Enjoy.
Oomis, probably not any better but works faster with less mess.
Walton, you can also get them cheaper at staples if you watch for sales.
YW Moderator-18ModeratorWIY Mah nishtana halayla hazeh…
YW Moderator-18ModeratorSpeak for yourselves. It’s freezing right now in the country!!!
YW Moderator-18ModeratorThere are many beautiful parks in there areas you mention. There is Hanofee park in Liberty and Lippman park in Ellenville. There is Morningside park not far from Liberty that has row boats. I think Hanofee park has some kind of boating also. In White Lake you can go speed boating or various other kinds of boating. They also have banana boating.
YW Moderator-18Moderatorwhat do you mean extra?
YW Moderator-18ModeratorThere are many county fairs throughout the country depending on which days you are coming.
YW Moderator-18ModeratorThere are some schools that already do this.
YW Moderator-18ModeratorFrom what I hear it is very yeshivish. I believe Peekskill Yeshiva goes there.
YW Moderator-18ModeratorIf you move to Westgate I’m pretty sure you can get a house pretty cheap.
YW Moderator-18ModeratorDoes anyone know if they really cancelled it or if this is just speculation?
April 21, 2013 7:06 am at 7:06 am in reply to: Would you eat salmon tonight that was cooked last Thursday? #947321YW Moderator-18ModeratorDid you eat it? If you did, how do you feel?
YW Moderator-18Moderatorif you have children under 13 and she is the primary care giver all you have to do is send a copy of the youngest child’s birth certificate with the form and it is an automatic exemption.
YW Moderator-18ModeratorI would not do it this close to Pesach as they are madhouses this week. Next year go earlier and most will let you come. Some will even let you make an appointment to bake matzoh there and your kids can help with the baking. You don’t have to buy a lot of matzoh to do this, even a few pounds is okay.
YW Moderator-18ModeratorWhich KD are you referring to? The one in Flatbush is still open. I heard the one in BP closed because of the rent.
YW Moderator-18ModeratorZA and fkelly and anyone else, I am not creative like some of the mods with coming up with subs. If you want something specific ask and if I see it I will b”n change it for you.
YW Moderator-18Moderatorlook in the hamodia, I saw at least two ads for places. One was the Raleigh and the other somewhere in Piscataway NJ.
YW Moderator-18ModeratorWe tried that but it came out as light brown water. Maybe because we use about 11 oz of water the first time around instead of 6.
YW Moderator-18ModeratorSuch problems.
YW Moderator-18ModeratorSorry, Superme, I have to agree with Haifagirl without disagreeing with you. Although davening vasikin on Purim is a big segula and many people, women included go for that reason, I personally know many many women who go for practical purposes. Purim is a very busy day for many people with too much to do and not enough time. If one has little children at home the parents need to go to different minyanim and that can take a few hours extra. Many women go to the earliest minyan so their husbands can daven at their regular minyanim and then start their day earlier. This too is a legitimate reason for going to the earliest minyan. Haifa was in no way trying to say that people shouldn’t go for the segula.
February 22, 2013 9:06 pm at 9:06 pm in reply to: Disturbed by Knight and Castle Guard Costumes #933149YW Moderator-18ModeratorSays: Most of the kids dressing as kings are not any speoific king just a generic king more fairy tale like than related to anything in reality. Some of the king costumes are supposed to be Dovid Hamelech.
YW Moderator-18ModeratorI’m sure there are many. Rabbi Bluth’s shul on E2 and Cortelyou has three minyanim with the first very early. All have the e”n open for megillah. If you look it up they have a hot line with the zmannim.

YW Moderator-18Moderatortwisted, I agree totally uncivilized. I wish we would copy what you have.
YW Moderator-18Moderatorthe parking card works like a credit card so what is the advantage?
YW Moderator-18Moderatoroomis, great idea! ibump, I use a chase freedom because it gives me 10 points for every time i use the card even if it is only for a quarter. So I get back 10 cents every time i use the muni meter.
YW Moderator-18Moderatoranon, I think that is only for the professional machines. The little one we have at home fills up when you pour in the water. It only holds one cup at a time.
YW Moderator-18ModeratorWe have the personal home machine. We toiveled it and let it dry for about 5 days before using it. It is fine.

I just don’t want to make it out to cash. David I’m sorry, I didn’t mean you should post your name I just need any viable name for a check. I will contact your Rabbi and ask him b”n.

YW Moderator-18ModeratorEvery magazine has articles I don’t love. I simply skip them. I happen to think the inyan is one of the best magazines and personally let my mishpacha and binah subscriptions lapse because the inyan is enough with the rest of the hamodia. To each his own.

YW Moderator-18Moderatoryenta, true, but what is wrong with a husband and wife having some time together if their places of employment are closed. some people might even think it is a healthy thing.
YW Moderator-18ModeratorTry cheese latkes, Yum!
YW Moderator-18ModeratorThose who care are busy checking ads and planning strategy and have no time for the coffee room until after Shabbos.

November 1, 2012 6:57 am at 6:57 am in reply to: GAS SHORTAGE: Where Can You get Gas Following Superstorm Sandy? #902412YW Moderator-18Moderatorsnjn, if you check in, I called a bunch of stations in Brooklyn. The only one that said they have gas on the belt parkway exit 11 Flatbush. I think it is a mobil station.
YW Moderator-18Moderatorsnjn, Hi, i was there about 2 hours ago and they did not have. I just spoke to the mobil station there and they confirmed that they and the station across have no gas.
YW Moderator-18ModeratorIn case anyone cares, Ceaser’s Bay Bazaar will be closed for the foreseeable future due to damage from Sandy. Atlantic Mall is also closed today except for Target.
