Diddo to WIY.
From a guy’s point of view: As much as you got to be so close with that person, you have to realize that spending the rest of your life with him/her is a very specific match for you. Things may look good in the exterior and you set your mind on him/her, it still may not be the best shidduch for you. Who plans this all? Nobody but Hashem! Not the shadchan, the parents, or the dater him/her self.
I wish you & all daters much hatzlacha & should find their bashert b’karov mamish!
YW BandMemberNow it’s here! 4 inches in Central Park & 2 in flatbush. Let’s not make an ayin hara & hopefully we won’t get more because after all it’s just a mess especially in the streets (sorry kids-i’m already older lol) but a blizzard is a different story as long as I can daven with a minyan!
January 20, 2012 1:24 am at 1:24 am in reply to: Slow Children ! (Serious people – stay out) #845428YW BandMemberAll these signs means the people are slow (IQ)!
To the “slow men at work”: thats why the work is slow too!
YW BandMemberMothers: I just heard from my Rav this Shabbos saying that just like Shifra & Puah got their names for doing a small thing like mothering Moshe Rabbeinu & that is what makes a gadol

You can ask me any questions on touro. hatzlacha!
YW BandMember1)Harav Aaron Schechter Shlit”a was maspid Maran Tz”l.
He mentioned that Maran lived the first parsha of Shema-“Bchol Nafshicha” that Bchol includes one who has yesurim. R’Nosson Tzvi was marbe more & more Torah even though he had tremendous yesurim!
2) A neighbor of mine told me a maase. He once went to E”Y after he got married & he wanted to meet Maran since he never saw him. Someone showed him his house. He knocked on the door, and someone opened up. He found Maran learning with a bachur & Maran motioned him over. Maran asked him a few questions like any other conversation you have with someone you met for the first time. Why??? Ay he was in middle of learning?? It’s beacuse he had a moridike Ahavas Yisrael!!! No matter who he was or someone he never even saw in his life! A yid is a Yid Kodesh!
May he be a Meiletz Yosher for the entire Yeshiva & the whole Klal Yisrael. B’suros Tovos.
YW BandMemberHere goes blame on Bloomberg again lol.
I just hope this isn’t the begining of more blizzards. How you like the sounding of Blizzard of October! too late for that haha
YW BandMemberFor those who go 2 the Brklyn Marriot:
I went pass the building in the main lane (not service lane) to look for parking. little did i know the next available was the bridge so I had to turn illegally when there was a cop looking 2!
i said phew & my date laughed but little embarrassing. i couldn’t afford 20 min back & forth on the bridge (yea like that will work 4 cops..) lol
October 25, 2011 3:21 am at 3:21 am in reply to: For whom is ???? ???? really the greatest ??? ??????? for? #819909YW BandMemberMy father’s joke is since the ladies are patur from succah! He’s not against ladies lol
October 19, 2011 5:11 am at 5:11 am in reply to: Is eating in succah on Shabbos Breishis considered Bal Tosef? #977924YW BandMemberMy Rav answered me YES!
Because the gemara says that since its normal for people to go outside on a nice day to eat, Shabbos is no different than a regular day. Whereas Simchas Torah is definitely bal tosef.
YW BandMembervery funny Bar Shattya:) I got it from torah.org
do whatever your Rav tells you.
Gut yom tov to all!
October 10, 2011 10:21 pm at 10:21 pm in reply to: Is it mutar to tie a string to the schach? #816123YW BandMembermy brother posted it
October 10, 2011 10:06 pm at 10:06 pm in reply to: Is it mutar to tie a string to the schach? #816121YW BandMemberi hear. also the stake is metal & house idk if whole problem is kavua…
YW BandMemberThanx all commentators.
HaLeiVi: You’re 100% right which is what i said.
Regards to the poles, I heard it’s better to tie it to the wood planks which hold up the schach.
I have a new shaila which I got asked today.
Someone got a psak that if one ties his succah to his house/garage its mutar. But if you put a stake in the ground and attach string from stake to succah that is assur. Why??? Isn’t it a kol shkein?
Also, if a succah is perfectly kosher in a house & you have a sliding roof. If anything thats more permanent? so then the stake should definitely mutar? to me it makes sense…
YW BandMemberYes I do. It has around 20 guys. Run by R’Rapps a great maagid shiur, geshmak, and down to earth! The Rosh Hayeshiva is R’Chaim Zelekovitch.
It’s meant for guys ages 18-22 or late Mesivta. The guys from what Ive seen on Purim (I played there) is interesting but the guys wanna grow in learning with a geshmak. Everyone has a close kesher with the Rosh & I admire it if you need a little chizuk/help in gemara. Hatzlacha on your decision!
YW BandMemberI agree with coffee addict. I did it and I was told the code from a Yid and the service was from a Goy. But gezel akum is still asur! The question is: is it really gezel?
YW BandMemberIm doing it with Touro in special ed. but you gotta pay them well$$$ its $1500/class! take out student loan. nice program & good field work
YW BandMemberRohde Island. i dont know if it was said. if yes, Rechov Yafo lol
September 4, 2011 1:27 am at 1:27 am in reply to: What are you doing about Elul?? Pls share… #805464YW BandMemberWell one thing is that nobody is perfect. We have to look into ourselves & see what we need to work on. The wrong thing to do is make huge kabalos which we know we cant fulfill. Small kabalos like getting up on time in the morning (huge for me lol), more kavanah in davening, smiling when people greet you (instead of texting) etc. The list is long, but a step-by-step process is the best approach. May Hashem grant us with a year of simcha, nachas, refuahos, yeshuaos & nechamos! Kesiva V’chasima Tova to all!
August 29, 2011 10:09 pm at 10:09 pm in reply to: Dating in a Hurricane! (or immediately after) #804819YW BandMemberGuys-guess what? I dated last night! So hah! I called up a bowling alley and cafe, looked online for the traffic report and b”h the roads were clear. Just that the cafe ended up being closed when I got there. I guess they weren’t getting business.
Plus, there were tons of blocks without power in Kew Garden Hills. Hatzlacha to all daters!
YW BandMemberI just heard a Pierkei Avos shiur on Shabbos. The speaker said it means changing your immediate surroundings by making sure you conduct yourself properly (practice what you preach). If people see you conduct in the Torahdige manner, they will flock to you like a magnet!
July 31, 2011 2:52 am at 2:52 am in reply to: What we CAN easily DO to change and improve PRACTICAL #793412YW BandMemberIndeed. R’Avigdor Miller has a set of 2 seforim (in Hebrew though) called “Shaarei Aroah”. I had a chavrusa on Shabbos learning this sefer. Not only does it teach a person the right derech, but it also gives you an “avdah”, a practical course of action one can easily do. For example, to have more kavanah in bentching etc.
There is also an amazing sefer called “B’lvavi Mishkan Evne” which basically states that all 613 mitzvohs have one purpose only which is kirvas Hashem! For those who want English, I believe there is an abundance B”H of those too.
May we all do the mitzvos with this intention in mind & may we only see good outcomes out of all the improvements we make to bring aliyos to those holy neshamos. May we not need any more tragic reminders to lead us on the right derech & may we be zoche to not have to sit on the floor again this Tisha B’av.
YW BandMemberYes. Camp Yedidim rocks! I’m a counselor there & its a geshmake learning camp. 9:30-1:15 is seder. 1:15-6:15 activities. then minacha & supper. Then 7:15-8:30 is night seder i think. call 347-668-9528 or 718-854-6679
YW BandMemberHeres a couple:
1. “So open your neshama & let the niggun make you whole”
2. “Western wall Friday night…”
???
YW BandMemberYugermen: theres a kollel in Miami which pays $40,000!!! Hatzlacha with the beach lol!
YW BandMemberSacrilege
the real one: In fact both sides pay for the wedding. Chosson pays for FLOP & girl pays rest. These days they usually split the pot:)
YW BandMemberRabbi Frand,R’Paysach Krohn, R’YAAKOV YAGEN!,Rabbi Orlofsky & my Rav R’Zolty
YW BandMemberEclipse-I’m maskim! I once waited for the B11 to go to Machon L’Parnasah for 45 minutes on a test day when I set aside extra time to get there on time which resulted in a loss of time!!! besides the cold, it makes your personality cold:)
A FREILACHIN CHANUKAH TO ALL! This yom tov should be a zchus to outlaw all the current tzoros to bring Mashiach b’karov!
November 24, 2010 6:20 am at 6:20 am in reply to: Some important Halachos of Tefillah and pronunciation #1145679YW BandMemberThe Tachnun Issue:
1) A shul is NOT allowed to skip tachnun when there is a bris earlier that day in the same shul (Landuas, Shomer Shabbos…) just because that minyan skipped.
2) A shul is NOT allowed to skip tachnun by shachris when there is a Chosson on the day of his Chuppah earlier than chatzos that day just because they will skip it at mincha.
These halachos are m’furash in the Mishna B’rura! I believe that Hashem needs our tachnunim, after all we can only gain instead of complain!
YW BandMemberoops I didn’t scroll down enough lol.
School Voucher
YW BandMemberCookies n’ milk
YW BandMemberI bought a shabbos hat for $60!!! It’s an off brand -Black Hatters Deluxe! It has a nice snap
November 15, 2010 4:45 am at 4:45 am in reply to: VOTE HERE if guys in BMG should wear name tags #729142YW BandMemberMy casual joke is that I’m not stuck in the freezer-I’m still in the fridge!!! It would be a really funny & excellent idea!!! It’s all about yichus anyway:)
YW BandMemberShloimy Gertner-All the way!!! His voice is sweet & his songs are fantastic!!! I love playing his songs at simchos!
YW BandMemberNot always does Touro accept the FULL 48 credits. Especially for a girl who only gets 24, she has to take history, art classes etc. Regards to scholarships, it’s not that easy either (academic is the best). L’mase Touro is a business and becoming a University soon!!! This will probably mean a higher tuition but a better resume:)
YW BandMemberNot at this very moment. Try your neighbors or look in the Torah Times etc.
YW BandMemberI agree with rebdoniel. I’m also in the same boat as hashemsprincess. I go to a nutritionist, and he told me that by losing the weight and gaining it back (going in cycles) is crazy. It’s a LIFETIME BATTLE! The trick is to start when your young. The ONLY way is to eat a nutritious meal 3 times a day and exercise. It can even be a daily walk but DO it. Don’t be lazy and stick to it. I’m like the world who doesn’t stick to their weight goals, but the emes is there!
YW BandMemberTry to find a tutor job. There is a great need for yeshiva ketana kids who need help in mishnayos & gemara & their parents are way too busy!
