there was about a 30 year cooling period between 1945 and 1975. (by now scientists erased it and made it look like it never happened) but during that time scientists said humans are causing cooling by burning fossil fuels which releases white particles (smog) into the atmosphere which blocks out the suns heat and that the world is heading into an ice age. they started warning of mass starvation and death by 2020. that fell apart once there was some warming so they quickly blamed the warming on man.
