yossi z.MemberIt’s ok. No news … Yet. I did go to boston a couple more times. I saw my oldest brother for the second time in seven years (the first time was at another brother’s chasuna), and a close friend of mine from israel who I haven’t seen since forever (it has been so long I don’t remember how long it was).
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberThe mazal tov thread. Why not bring it up? Who knows there may just be floods of simchot b’ezrat Hashem 🙂 (no hints hehe)

yossi z.MemberMy neighbor’s five year old son wanted his parents to play stratego with him. They told him we don’t know how to play.
His response: ok I will just ask yossi (a different neighbor of mine) to play. He is a smart man. Even smarter than mommy, daddy, and Hashem!
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.Membermazal tov to your brother
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.Memberhow many threads will be made for requesting subtitles? there has got to be at least five by now.
Zuberman
yossi z.Memberyes and it is an opinion in a mishna on top of it. it is also a machlokes in the same mishna whether or not there even is such a thing as a not pretty jewish girl. i don’t remember the exact location of the mishna though. i think it is in nedarim as the machlokes is based off of someone who makes a neder to marry a girl on condition that she is pretty (or something along those lines) and her looks turn out not to be his taste.
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberAMEN!!!
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.Membermazal tov! i have moved into my new apartment! this one is more permanent (unlike before when i was living at my sister’s on a temporary basis).
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberWell technically admor reb pinchos dovid ben admor reb levi yitzchok is known and the new yorker-bostoner as is the rest of the new york branch of the dynasty
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberYes we have it hard too. There are times where I wonder whether I made the right choice. There are times where I honestly want to cry because of all the difficulty I have with well I guess the best word to use would be consequences. But thankfully there are people in this world who accept me for who I am not for what I do. There are times where it seriously bothers me what people think about the working world. I mean come on someone has got to work where else is the money gonna come from?
Sorry I can’t write further as I tried three times and all that was coming out was bad feelings and I don’t want to badmouth or anything like that. Yes there is a lot of bitterness at what the world has come to.
You know I just might 🙂 (back atcha)
Happy: sorry for not mentioning this earlier but that is a beutiful poem and I got chizuk (and still am taking chizuk) from it. Thank you
yossi z.MemberThere is also a pitsburger rebbe
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberYou said edited? That’s a funny way to answer the question (sorry I am a bit hyper right now)
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberGumball: now that was how it sssshhhhhould have but especially on this thread lol
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberBaruch Hashem today I’m better
Let me tell you with each letter
Though not all the way
It’s better each day
And no I’m not a fretter
Last night my fever broke oh my
How my poor forehead seemed to cry
My pillow was wet
How my head did sweat
But my nose will not run dry
I went to work yesterday
How my friends did say oy vey!
After a good sleep
Without a peep
I went again today
I am having so much fun
With this whole limerick run
I wish I could stay
But I can’t today
I am moving july one
But when it comes to be the fourth
I want this again to be my fort
A place to play
Here by day
Hope I have something of worth
I must go before I get stuck
In all this limerick muck
‘Cause if I do
I’ll go boohoo
As there will go twenty bucks
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberYentingyenta: it works both ways too. I am a working boy (still trying to work out how I am gonna get my degree, I want to go for business management) and people tell me well if you are not in yeshivah you will have ahard time with shidduchim. Why? What is wrong with a bochur working? Something is wrong if he isn’t in yeshivah past say first year beis medrash?
As of right now there is what is brewing baruch Hashem. Let us hope that maybe this one WILL go through
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberAdorable: I think you were off as your previous post was counted … But your post after smiley face is space five. I am space one. Posts from a poster that is under five places aren’t counted so space three would have been space three from adorable not me.
Space #1
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberI am not sticking up for anyone I just don’t find it funny
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberCan’t say goodbye as we will see you after the summer (right?) So lehitraot (see you later) 🙂

😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberAdorable: if she had said something before the whole thing was brought up would you have said something? Leave her be
Zuberman
yossi z.MemberThe girl isn’t from the cr. The shidduch was brought about through the cr. As I said before there isn’t much info I am allowed to give.
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberUm: mazal tov! May you and your chosson(?) Be zoche to build a bayis neeman b’yisroel binyan adei ad!
Gumball: mazal tov! May your brother and his kallah be zoche to build a bayis neeman b’yisroel binyan adei ad dorei yesharim umevorach!
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberOk no problem. That is one disadvantage of the written word. You can’t always tell if a person is serious or not.
Thank you
Zuberman!
yossi z.MemberSome yes some no. By boston (the chassisdus) there is not set levush or havarah the ikkar is the avoda (learning davening halacha and minhagim)
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberHey I appreciate the attention. Number one, I turn twenty tes cheshvan so gefen you were close. Two as was noted, for now I am busy (yes a cr shidduch on top of it but that is all I can say). Number three, it is extremely difficult to pull such a thing off especially as the mods aren’t keen on co-operating (understandably) number four (for gefen) what made you think of this? Number five (yes the numbers go kinda high here as I am trying to make things as clear as possible) I have already made it known how to find me if need be but as was said I am officially busy so no and I will not say if this and that because that is setting myself up for disaster (the if I was talking about was if cv this one doesn’t work out then. If I follow such a mindset I will be thinking I can always fall back and thereby things will not get done correctly) so if you want to hold onto that thought then go ahead discuss it amongst yourselves but I don’t want a part in it. If I came out to be harsh it wasn’t intended that way
Zuberman!
yossi z.MemberYes but I recall oomis being asked to contact the editor
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberYay! The game picked up! Now I am the last poster. Next?
Let’s make this a drop harder. No alternating posters. There has to be a space of at least five posters before you can post again. How is that?
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberThat is aweshhhhome! Now I really want that! I can’t imagine a better ringtone I would crack up every time my phone rang.
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberWhat nicer way to get better
Stay outside enjoy the weather
My nose is stuffed
My throat all roughed
And here I am can I do better
Sure these rhymes don’t all make sense
But why settle for just pence
You could make dollars
Sewing collars
Or you could go paint a fence
What is all this eschewing?
It is all I can be doing
Bring smiles to a face
Make a happy place
Looks to be trouble brewing
I am sorry that my rhymes
Do not fit right all the times
I did break some rules
Just to lift the blues
Hopefully now time’s fine
I must now go inside
Charge my phone ‘fore it dies
I enjoyed this do
Tell me you did too
Over these please don’t cries
(Sorry I was desperate)

yossi z.MemberDepends which dynasty. The rebbe reb pinchos dovid had two sons the rebbe reb levi yitzchok and the rebbe reb moshe. The rebbe reb levi yitzchok took over boston while the rebbe reb moshe took over new york. The rebbe reb moshe passed away and left over two sons and to my understanding one became rebbe and one became dayan/rosh yeshivah. I don’t know the new york dynasty too well as I primarily know the grandsons of reb moshe (one is a rov in boro park and one is a rov in lawrence otherwise I don’t know much else). The rebbe reb levi yitchok passed away leaving three sons and a tzavoh that all three should accept the title of admor and in effect create a triumvirate. So in sum total there are four or five bostoner rebbes (as I do believe (but I am not 100% sure) one son of reb moshe became rebbe in beit shemesh while the other stayed in flatbush)
I personally went with the line of the rebbe reb levi yitzchok (it helps that he was the rebbe I went to when I became a bostoner it also helps that I grew up in boston). I do very much hold of the new york dynasty as they do of us. It is a positive mutual working relationship
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberAweshhhhhhhhome finaly a thread where we can be giddy and shhhhhhhhhilly and jushhhhhhht have a good time 🙂 (regards from the shhhhhhhhpy)
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberNo. Why does everyone want to leave? Why can’t we instead try to work together and make this a more comfortable happy place to be again? What happened between two years ago and now that all of a sudden this place is literally dead to the point where all people can talk about is how this one is upset with that and the other one is upset with some poster etc etc etc? What has gotten into this place/people? I remember when even joseph not only wasn’t an obsessed over topic but was actually conversationable (able to have conversation with). It has really become ridiculous to the point where the only reason I am staying on is something which I hope will work and go through but once it does (yes I am being optimistic), if this place hasn’t changed, I will have no more reason to stay on myself. Same goes if C”V it doesn’t go through.
Zuberman!
yossi z.MemberMod 80: yochie? Where did you see that name?
Derech: you may be scaring yourself but at least the situation (of jumping on anyone and everyone right and left) is being put in its proper perspective ie over-reactive ridiculousness.

yossi z.MemberWabbits? I tought I thaw a puddy tat. I did! I did! I weally thaw a puddy tat!
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberThere is one shammash at a time. When the rebbe started being half a year in eretz yisroel and half a year in america, a second shammash was set up for eretz yisroel. When the rebbe got sick the shammash would travel with the rebbe. I was shammash in between my older brother and the next one. My duties were to bring the rebbe to shul and back. Being that I was a shammash after he re-married, I did not have to take care of him in his house as his wife was capable in doing so herself.
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberPopa: impressive. Very clear, accurate, and to the point way of putting it. Couldn’t have said it better myself.
Zuberman!
yossi z.MemberI don’t see why there is an issue for you to say sit on your porch and enjoy the display (assuming of course that you can see the fireworks from your porch).
Even though we will do our best to answer questions and such, just please remember that the cr is not a replacement for competent halachic authority.
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberBeing that it looks like ’tis the season for it (at least amongst a lot of our posters here) I think we should dedicate this thread just for engagements/marriages.
What do you all think?

June 28, 2011 5:23 am at 5:23 am in reply to: Have you ever seen a Ghost? I mean a real one. #781586yossi z.MemberThis is an entire section in zohar and kabalah in general. This concept of what we are calling here ghosts are real and do happen and exist. No joke. Whether or not we understand exactly what is being talked about could be under question. In other words do we fully comprehend who what where when why and how such things happen? Possibly not but they definitely happen and exist. Now we may also not fully comprehend the situation when it happens to be able to know whether or not what is happening is real as the mind is a very complex tool.

yossi z.MemberOh yeah? You really think so? Alright then, let us see how long we can keep this thread going (obviously no fighting, loshon hora, etc allowed. Also, as soon as it gets to be overboard it stops)
Oh and I don’t have a dog. Big or little.
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberThe real joseph may not stand up but will the instigator of all this nonsense please stand up.
yossi z.MemberYummy: this nephew is five days older than me. when I was born only my oldest sister was married. I don’t remember my ages when the rest of my married siblings got married (I still have one brother and one sister still single).
Observanteen: you are very welcome 🙂
We should only know everything as revealed good (even if something appears to us as bad there is obviously a reason for it but we may just not know it. So let me add on/rephrase to say may we always be able to see good in every situation).

yossi z.MemberSprint. Blackberry style. Great calling, texting, service (both phone and customer), and you can get affordable plans.
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberAll I can say is that I am beyond sick of this and I think that joe hacked a mod’s account and is doing this. Sick person.
>:o Zuberman! >:o
yossi z.MemberNoooooo!!!!! You can’t leave!! If need be we can start a campain to bring out into the open and resolve once and for all this joseph shtick. I have nothing against sub titling confirmed joes but seriously it is getting annoying.
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberHow he came to be rebbe in boston: originally the rebbe reb pinchos dovid was a “simple” (I put it in quotes as he was the nephew of reb dovid milelov (who was known far and wide for his ‘sight’) and was a direct descendant of the brody rov (who ran away to eretz yisroel when he was found out to be a baal mofes) yungerman (mid to late twentys) in yerushalayim. His uncle reb dovid tells him the he should go to america as they need him there. The rebbe being that he wasn’t keen on leaving eretz yisroel said no. Reb dovid said “fine we will see” and that was the end of that. A little while later the rebbe is requested to serve as av beis din on a beis din in europe. The rebbe thinks about the case for a little and seeing as it looked to be a short one two case, agreed. Of course it did not turn out to be a one two case and things started to drag and drag. Meanwhile, world war one breaks out and being that the rebbe is a resident of eretz yisroel which then was under the turkish empire, he has to get out of europe and fast. Due to the swiftness at which borders were getting closed and the difficulty involved in obtaining papers, they decided (and succeeded) in just getting the rebbe onto a boat which was leaving europe and then they would worry about getting him back to eretz yisroel. Well they get him onto a boat and where do you think the boat is headed? Of all places, america and so the rebbe is brought to america and lands in boston. That is how he got there.
I will have to refresh my memory of the rest (how he came to be rebbe etc). Besides I think this post is a wee bit long.
Oh by the way I only brought up that I was a shammash to explain how I know the story. It so happens that the zuber (my family) and the horowitz (the rebbe’s family) mishpachos were very close and go as far back to when my father, the current rebbe (or to be pc my current rebbe), and my uncle were playmates as kids.
