😀 Zuberman 😀
yossi z.MemberICOT: I think princesseagle was referring to shidduchim not college. Though I could very well be wrong.
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberPhotogenic is not one to post often. Mr awesum, welcome!!
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberAww 80! I was about to call it! Oh well, at least I was right 🙂
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberICOT: methinks you have to read the posts a little more carefully 🙂 (your third line/paragraph) 🙂
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberSmartcookie: I am actually trying to lead him somewhere and confirm a suspicion I have before saying anything. Do I believe him? It is possible to sit and take note of every possible poster but you gotta be nuts to do that. What can he do with this info? I honestly can’t think of anything really worth anything, kind of like a kid who loves playing with empty bottles. So he has info, nu.
Op stands for original poster (I think) though if you are joseph, you should know that already. You have been around for quite some time.
yossi z.Memberhmmm you really expect me/us to buy this, do you?
yossi z.Memberas chazal say, ?? ?????? ??? ????, ??? ???? ????? …
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberNeed to know, huh? Just curios as to what kind of info you were exactly able to get on people and what you would use it for

If you are new, welcome!

yossi z.MemberEvery time I bring up the mazal tov thread, I wonder how many people think that maybe this time it is a personal mazal tov? 🙂
Well this time it is. Not THAT one (I wish). Mazal tov! I finally got my college application in and not only that but a day early too! Now to be accepted …
Mazal tov to my manager on his upcoming chasuna!!!! (Tomorrow (thursday) night)
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberCharlie brown?! Baruch mechayeh meisim! Whereve you been buddy? Great to have the old guys back! Wow, this is awesome!
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.Memberyes. accept them for who they are and show them that no matter what you still love and care for them. you don’t have to support what they do or their decision. just love them and care for them. ’tis the best medicine.
hatzlacha
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberNo, it isn’t just you. It happens to me too and I have seen it happen to other people.
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberWelcome to all the new posters
The guests and the hosters
Though rusty am I
Again I shall try
A lym of which to boasters
That really wasn’t so great
Please excuse me I am up late
My head it pounds
With all that abounds
For MT I don’t wanna wait
To all those who gave it a hand
Come again, please make a stand
This thread oh boy
Brings me much joy
Now where did go my band?
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberGee I didn’t realize that so many posters lived in far rockaway too. Cool! So I am not the only one! I still haven’t gotten home yet (public transportation is still down) so I will hopefully be going home from work tomorrow (if I can get there)
😀 Zuberman! 😀
August 28, 2011 4:29 pm at 4:29 pm in reply to: Did any trees or power lines fall in Brooklyn? #802530yossi z.MemberSeems quiet where I am staying too though when I went to shachris I did see a fallen tree and some fallen branches. Not really anything else. Though I do hear the worst isn’t over yet …
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberI would like to know that also. How badly did we get flooded? Any damage anywhere? How soon can we head back?
😀 Zuberman! 😀
August 28, 2011 3:31 pm at 3:31 pm in reply to: Anyone currently posting in Brooklyn? What's the hurricane situation? #804749yossi z.MemberAs a drill? As if they knew it was going to be nothing? I doubt that. I was informed that we very may well only be sitting in the eye of the storm and there is still more to come
😀 Zuberman! 😀
August 28, 2011 1:44 pm at 1:44 pm in reply to: To those brothers and sisters on the East Coast… #803492yossi z.Memberwe are down to a tropical storm! rain should clear up by this afternoon! Irene has hit coney island with speeds of 65 mph winds. The storm itself is moving at a speed of 26 mph. No more hurricane! No more tornado watch! BH!
😀 Zuberman! 😀
August 28, 2011 12:55 pm at 12:55 pm in reply to: To those brothers and sisters on the East Coast… #803491yossi z.MemberIrene just made landfall in new jersey. My sister lives there. New york, RI, and MA are next (probably in that order if not all at the same time). I have family and close friends in all of these locations. I am not at home as far rockaway (and lawrence) were officially evacuated (I went to brooklyn for shabbos and am still there now). I worry for myself not so much as I am together with other people. I worry more for my parents and younger sister in boston.
:/ Zuberman :/
yossi z.MemberLike now?
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberYour all making me hungry! I want a donut! Pretty much a simple custard donut with glaze (chocolate or vanilla)

August 26, 2011 4:33 am at 4:33 am in reply to: Who is your favorite member, responding to threads? #807051yossi z.MemberCoffee addict is married already …
If I had to narrow it down to say two or three posters, I would say 80, kapusta and aries (for that matter really anyone from when I first joined the CR)
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberBecause she didn’t or doesn’t? You can’t make a generalization off of one time. Whether she was right or not in dressing the way she did doesn’t allow for a generalization.
Is there a shadchan involved? Maybe speak to the shadchan and see if they can shed light and possibly give a reason? Maybe speak to someone the girl and you know that can act as an uninvolved outside observer?
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberICOT: correct 🙂
Mazal tov, mazal tov, mazal tov!! May we all be zoche to share many more simchos!
I am currently at my cousin’s bar mitzvah now and tomorrow night I have a chasuna of a close friend! Mazal tov!
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberI think hurricane is getting mistaken for tornado. Hurricane is as was said basically just a huge rainstorm (stronger winds too) and the tornado is what brings you to Oz.
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberOh you were talking about the mods making a shidduch. I was referring to putting through the e-mail addresses and let photo and middle path do the shidduch part.
The mods don’t make shidduchim.
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberAdorable: it has happened before. Why can’t it happen again?
😀 Zuberman! 😀
August 24, 2011 3:15 pm at 3:15 pm in reply to: Life Coach: Pros and Cons (squeak vs. aries) #801563yossi z.MemberCons to life coaching? This should be interesting (I hope to be getting certified as a life coach)
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberZeeskite: it is ok. For me at least it brought back pleasant memories 🙂 I am very happy to see you back up and running trying to bring smiles to peoples’ faces. It is a big zechus to be mesameyach people 🙂
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberI spent ten hours straight (no breaks) getting cars, vans, jeeps, and even a truck unstuck and out. That was just a section of 18th ave (from ocean parkway to coney island). Wow talk about memories. The soreness didn’t go away for a few days.
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberUneeq: you’ve only posted like ten times? I thought I saw from you a lot more often then that and so mistook you for a regular. So sorry.
The ‘break-in’ period doesn’t really exist. Pretty much once one of us sees a new name and welcomes, most other people jump on the bandwagon.
In regards to responding to posts, I have noticed, unfortunately, that people don’t seem to read much background of conversation before putting in their input so unless your comments were like of the ast three approved and put up …
Anyways, WELCOME UNEEQ!!!!! Enjoy your stay 🙂
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.Membermazal tov to my cousin (a different one) on the birth of a baby boy!!
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.Memberphoto: go to the top left hand corner of the screen and you will see two gray boxes. the second to last item on the list is contact us. why don’t both you and middlepath contact ywn requesting an e-mail exchange sort of thing?
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberBumping up.
yossi z.MemberComing from a (relatively) parallel situation, (beis medrash), I would say consider those things you feel are most important to you in hashkafot, frumkeit, etc, and see if seminary is something that would further those goals or not.
Oh and welcome back. I haven’t seen you around here in a while 🙂
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberAsk her details about her work, what she does, ask her to explain aspects you don’t understand, try to bring in some of your own life experiences and mix it into the discussion. I have personally found with kiruv that just having a ‘normal’ conversation can be very effective. At the same time though, if she is interested in knowledge and the like, you could discuss torah and mitzvos with their background along with what they mean.
Was I clear enough?
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.Member42: haha thanks for the laugh!
Thank you to all that (seemingly) smoothed things over in a much nicer and more pleasant way than was being done before
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.Memberyeah i know. at the time of the post i had just come out of court so i was not exactly mit alemin.
oh and part three went well. the last one or two parts are still in complication. details MAY arrive sometime (no telling when)
😀 Zuberman! 😀
August 21, 2011 1:39 am at 1:39 am in reply to: disproportion, misconception, and utter craziness #800077yossi z.Memberhold up a second. it was assault enough (verbal abuse), i could have had him arrested for what he did. number two, i wouldn’t have exactly recommended him to physically start up with me for two reasons, one he would have gotten more hurt than me (i have training in the martial arts), and two not only would i have had him arrested, i would have sued him. so either way he had more to loose. i posted this not because i felt traumatized or the like but rather sickened.
Zuberman
yossi z.Memberpeople missed my point entirely making me realize why my work is that much harder …
🙁 Zuberman 🙁
yossi z.MemberI have posted before about doing things in a nice way and I even asked nicely and said please with a *your choice of fruit* on top 🙁 I know certain things bother people but can we please correct in a constructive manner? Correcting or educating in an attacking or afronting manner, can only do damage to a persons self esteem and likely won’t help them correct the issue properly. Please, I again ask people, if you must correct, do it nicely
Thanks
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberUrsula momish: lubavitch is not particular to only wear wigs except maybe in the street/public.
LuVmyFaM: why not ask your chacham to explain chacham ovadia’s psak as it doesn’t sound very clear to me the way you presented it? (I happen to be connected to the syrian/sephardic world though I am not syrian myself (my uncle’s brother is the chacham of Massachusetts)
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberFor sure! It is very normal to be nervous! This is a big life change! Mazal tov! May you and your kallah be zoche to build a bayis ne’eman b’yisroel, binyan adei ad! I also agree with moishlkwd that you should see someone even just to calm yourself.
😀 Zuberman! 😀
August 18, 2011 10:32 pm at 10:32 pm in reply to: The pain that ensues from dating for so long…. #799396yossi z.MemberWhy try it now? It is four years later and people change is why. I know of someone who married their spouse on the third go around. I forget how many years it spanned.
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberI now have a court date for february ninth to take care of a mess up in regards to my license. It would be much appreciated if tefilos could be said.
Much thanks

yossi z.Membercoffee addict: 🙁 hatzlacha on finding an appropriate job. as i was (and still am) told, mistakes are made so we can learn what to do the next time.
on my news, so far part one of three (well now four or five) went very well. next up, two and three tomorrow (one is an indeterminate amount of time of the day and one shouldn’t take too long at all). the other parts i am not enumerating at all sorry 🙂
😀 Zuberman! 😀
August 18, 2011 4:30 am at 4:30 am in reply to: disproportion, misconception, and utter craziness #800066yossi z.MemberWIY: unfortunately no i am not joking.
some goy called me aside as i was walking home from the train and asked if i was jewish. being in kiruv, i thought the person had a question about judiaism so i stopped and said yes i am jewish. he then asked so you chopped up the kid? before i could even respond (or for that matter formulate one), he started yelling at me to get away from him and threatening me if i didn’t (which for that alone i could have had him arrested). unbelievable the insanity of some people nowadays. what is this world coming to?
:/ Zuberman! :/
yossi z.MemberJust a point on the grammar issue which looks like it is about to get out of hand. I don’t think it is the grammar per se that is bothering people, but rather the difficulty some people are having with communicating/understanding posts. Now that I said my piece, I will leave it up to everyone else whether or not to let things get blown out of proportion. For that matter, being that this is the rant thread, I will post a rant to be yotzei. Agreed that some things seem to get overdone or taken out of proportion, but why can’t we, instead of pointlessly arguing, instead try to work with each other? Why can’t we try and see their viewpoint and perspective or try and see their point in a perspective that would make more sense to us if you must? For example, the grammar issue. Yes, this isn’t english class but maybe it isn’t that people are grammar freaks, rather they just want to be able to have clear and understandable communication. This goes for both sides. Perhaps instead of making a big issue on the incorrect grammar, one should nicely ask the person to explain themselves. ‘Silly’ things like common or lazy misspells, maybe should just be ignored so long as the message still makes sense. Please, let us work with each other? Pretty please? With a *insert fruit item of desire here* on top?
Thank you
😀 Zuberman! 😀
