oh come on now you are belittling yourselves! 😛 what i meant was that being in beis medrash and all i don’t always get to “hang out” with people my age (which would include you, sorta mepal, moish?, jax?,….)
definitely agree to the last one (this place is keeping me young)

phew i still have not seen my father’s recipe here (usually works better when you leave the skin on)
prepare however many potatoes you need (usually 1/2 to a whole one per person)
and place on bottom of pan
lay the chicken (parts) ON TOP OF POTATOES
slightly lift up the skin and pour in wine to taste (not while raw silly!)
bake
eat
enjoy!

i know i am doing fine but that heads up a while back (eretz yisroel, bro’s chasuna, looking for a yeshiva,…..) is still in effect so don’t be too surprised if i diskapear (to quote my sister) for a while then come back full force (i know i know as long as i come back right?)

mepal: well if you meant that then i guess, but i would probably have to build a circle of friends first (sorta like what i did here)
kapusta: the slight difference being that they didn’t do it on purpose but not to worry i still (most of the time when allowed) hold myself on the level of my peers (this includes EVERYONE around my age)
well excuse me i never said i was a macher (maybe you can point it out?) (i was just fed up with the english program they had at the high school being that i had already learned what they were doing in twelfth grade (unless that is your definition of “macher”)
aww come on! 🙂 i AM here (not as often due to unforeseeable situations but i am here) so basically anyone (assumed/known) younger than you. lol

but yes it does add some difficulty (everyone older than you, keeping up, etc.,)
mepal: yup i was told that me and my nephew were a riot (and we still are!)

mepal: no it doesn’t really because when they asked me why i want to come i answered well i finished high school… it is not really that hard
mepal: nope i was growing up with almost all of them though i remember only three (my mother until most of us got married off almost never had more than nine of us at home at a time (my oldest sibling was married with a kid five days before i was born)
mepal: no but with the way you sounded you seemed significantly (about two years) older than kapusta not her age (when you posted about my age)
i was fed up with the high school i was in so i went to the menahel and explained the situation (this is in ninth grade) he complied and decided to graduate me the next year
(besides i was held back in pre-1-a so it really age wise is only one year)
i know just trying to make up for sobering comments in the humor thread lol! 🙂
mepal: 1) i don’t exactly have much of an estimation on your age (kapusta just graduated high school and i am a year ahead after skipping two grades (i.e. i would have been on her grade level) 2) i usually may (entirely by mistake!) present as older than i am
kapusta: sorry. things are coming to a close and i am right now looking into 3 yeshivas in the brooklyn area where i will likely have more internet access and i can come on more often
hey i am the ninth out of ten kids…. (and i am almost in line for shidduchim B’ezras Hashem)
mepal: cleaning by hand is not from olden days boy scouts still do it! 🙂

after reading most of these posts it seems that people are saying that “one should at least wear a ben torah uniform” (adapted quote) but what exactly defines a ben torah uniform? (i.e. what really is the minimum to be considered the uniform-i am a biber and rek’l type but that is not my minimum (it is: at least a respectable button down shirt dark slacks and depending if you are “modern orthodox” or not a hat and jacket)
mepal: ouch you got a tough one there but i would put my vote with kapusta (just make sure that the detergent doesn’t alter color)
hey kapusta i am also of the younger crowd believe it or not (if my estimation is correct i am MAX a year older than you (but likely we are around the same age)

mepal: i have been teaching since i was in sixth grade! 🙂 (i was a teachers aid in-between limudei kodesh and limudei chol and then eventually i started one-on-one)
yup to my brother’s chasuna in eretz yisroel! (and i am also looking to switch yeshivas)
in about four weeks i am b’ezras hashem going to eretz yisroel for about 2-4 weeks then we will see what happens IF i find a yeshiva (i am out looking, got any ideas? NY, chassidish/sefard, medium size)(or i may just go to work)
mepal: i am not really back. gotta prepare for my brother’s chasuna and IF i find another yeshiva i don’t know if i will have internet access (i am very sad about that) (why am i posting this in the humor column?)
well what color is this garment? because if it is white there are certain types of bleaches (i forget the brand names right now but my mother has one) that can get it out detergents i don’t recall anything at all (due to the fact that at the times when i am usually at risk of getting fish on me i am typically wearing white)

how do you people find the time? my schedule has become so hectic there are times that i even forget what a computer looks like! (airline tickets, passport renewal, etc.,)

jf2: in regards to raising both arms i learned in my cpr class that you are supposed to have them do it with their eyes closed (this way they can’t “trip” the system by focusing to lift both their hands equally) and just a suggestion, why don’t we have the mods forward your post to all member’s e-mail and then we (the members) can forward it from there?
just curious here. does anyone know how many mods there actually are? (they seem to be somewhat randomly numbered)
