I take it tuhitz means controversial?
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberI could technically move up to a better apartment and split it with someone on condition that when I get married I get to keep the apartment (which is the ikkar that I end up with the apartment in the end). The only issue with that option is that not everyone is willing to split like that.
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberThanx a lot!
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberOh well then, welcome on board the posting train and enjoy yourself please 🙂

Prettyinpink: how long have you been here to have noticed that? I only started seeing you now?
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberPrettyinpink: happy birthday! Mazal tov! May you be zoche to see many more years, filled with contentment along with great growth!

yossi z.MemberI am looking for what I would call a starter house. Something which has rooms which can be turned into bedrooms but not necessarily a two bedroom apartment (I looked at a one bedroom and one of the other rooms could be turned into another bedroom. Only problem was that they were asking $1000 and there was no hookup for laundry adding one more expense). One that I can afford now even if I have to cut corners but allowing me to hold on to it later (once I get married etc). My budget now is based off my salary. I want to be putting close to half of it away each month (so I have something to fall back on, about $800-yeah I know not much but taxes kill ya). I have to be able with the remaining $8-900 pay rent food transportation ($90 a month if it is the train) oh and my phone bill (another $67 a month). The building on neilson, 1144 or something like that? I looked at almost all their apartments and can’t afford one.
My optimum would be an apartment that I share but can take over for myself once I get to that stage.
I spent the entire day on luach looking for places and didn’t find anything affordable/suitable. Depending on certain things I may have found a place in crown heights (not optimal now at all-long story).
I don’t have yahoo but I have friends who do and they (great people what they are *ahem* yogi *ahem*) are helping me out with that. So far we found a place in far rockaway which takes out most of my pay check so that wouldn’t exactly work.
Happiest: who would I speak to for beach 11th? And where is it? As all I know that it goes beach 12 and then beach 9
Thank you all this really means a lot to me what you are doing
Was I clear at all?
*zuberman*
yossi z.MemberSorry B”H, bli ayin harah, there are so many simchot all at once! Better?
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberI looked at apartments in far rockaway (I go there quite often to visit cousins and friends) and the cheapest I could find was half my paycheck and that is just rent. I still have to do laundry (no hookup for a washer and dryer), eat and pay for transportation ($90/mo). Unless you have an idea of other places in far rock I could look? I looked in the five towns jewish times, and I looked at apartments on neilson near central.
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberI do not need an eruv and if the apartment is cheap enough I can get a car so I could be as far as an hour away. If it isn’t cheap enough I would have to be near a train which would connect me to the “A” and/or “C”
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberMazel tov!

yossi z.MemberI gave it away because I honestly don’t care. Besides it seems almost everywhere I go people know me and I (correctly) figured that plenty people here would know me too. On top of all this I don’t have what to hide.
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberBoys definitely get hurt too even IF they think that there are more girls. I would know. That is all I am saying.
*zuberman*
yossi z.MemberFine by me. It is your prerogative and besides that was the whole reason for anonymous screen names 🙂

😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.Memberthe bare minimum is brochos, baruch she’omar, ashrei, yishtabach, birchos krias shema and shema, shmone esrai (i don’t know what the story is with tachanun whether it is considered attached to shmone esrai in this regard). everything else can be said without tefillin (this is referring to a typical weekday davening)
😀 ZUberman! 😀
yossi z.Memberbased on the definitions given here i would say i am an introvert with an extrovert side to me
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberDoc!!!!!!!!!! Your back!!!!! It’s been about two years since I last ‘saw’ you! Please stay being back
Binah: hey I am real … Or at least I think I am. I mean I can feel myself and I work and everything … Unless the technology is really that good … Lol
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberAnd that could only happen if the child knows about what is being suggested (see the thread on that topic)
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberThe “punishment” for silly decisions has already been built in by Hashem. They are called consequences of our actions …
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberI personally would say that the kids should know something of the shidduchim being suggested as even if the child and parents had a discussion to get on the same page, there is still different perspective and the parents may therefore be turning down someone the child may feel is appropriate or saying yes to someone the child would never consider.
Just my take
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberI don’t know that a gematria tells us about the name more than say who the person was named after. Personally I feel it extremely difficult to live up to my name … I was named for the sixth lubavitcher rebbe (yosef yitzchok). Then again we all have to live up to ourselves not who we were named after, what our gematria is, etc.
I don’t remember which pirush it is but in the parsha (sedras vayetze) where yaakov goes to sleep and the malachim are climbing up and down, there is an explanation given that they were looking at a figure of him up in shamayim (who he was supposed to become) and comparing him to who he was then (which he was greater-which would lead us to a discussion of if that was the case then wasn’t he finished his job? But this is the wrong thread for that). I can’t guarantee everything I said about yaakov avinu here as it has been a while since I looked at it but this is what I remember so if anyone can confirm or clear it up it would be much appreciated.
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberWhy tomorrow nigth? What about now?
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberWellmeaning: are you from boston? The stories about the pre rofeh days … Boy are those the best (my father has loads of them). This is not to say that there aren’t plenty of stories coming out now. You see whenever I am in boston I am the official rofeh driver (yes I speak hebrew (at least enough to schmooze with the israelis whilst driving)
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberAmen. Very well said
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberIcot: you ate very welcome but boy you should have seen my face when I first read it lol
=D Zuberman! =D
yossi z.MemberUnder 18 I don’t know but I do know that out of state permits are accepted in new york. Try googling new york state driving laws.
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberNot necessarily as in the shidduchim world (at least the way I see it) all the parents are doing is using their greater life experience to set the child on a properly guided path. As to who marries who is up to the involved parties not the parents. Then again as I said it depends.
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberNo not the girl. Should have been more clear. I am sorry. I am referring to the friend who helped with arranging all of it.
*zuberman*
yossi z.MemberYou kidding about taking off and the raise or about who you are? lol
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberAdorable if you know the wilhelms so well you likely know me and my family too.
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberMazal tov to my manager on his getting engaged tonight!!!! May he and his kallah along with all of klal yisroel share many more simchot together with the coming of moshiach now! Amen!
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberDepending on where you live you can ask the local yeshivah …
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberKapusta: yes you are missing something but I don’t want to talk about it here. You may soon be getting a message through your friend unless you want to contact me directly.
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberOne question I am surprised not to have seen on any of these like threads is do the parents have shalom bayis. It can have a major effect on how the child grows up …
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberKapusta, do you believe in what you said enough to hold on to it if situations requiring such a saying were to happen to you?
This question is not meant to be read in an antagonistic or judgmental manner. It is meant to be more of a lead in
*Zuberman*
yossi z.MemberI would give my two cents here but until certain things are taken care of I can’t except to assure you that I can empathize with the shidduchim pangs and daven that you find the person best for the both of you.
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberToo many to list but I love my mother’s/sister’s lasagna except I am off of milk for a while as I suspect I may be lactose intolerant … 🙁
On the fleishig side I love pasta and fleish also chinese food (chicken or beef)
😀 Zuberman! 😀
yossi z.MemberI don’t qualify either. I am a teenage boy 🙂 (I am 19)
