Just curious how many of y’all are still here from back when I was more active or better yet back from my beginning. This will determine whether I post here or make a new thread (if you know what the meaning of the new thread is, than you’re an old timer for this particular case)

As for advice, I am not comfortable offering any as I am currently in the same boat as you 😉
I feel like I should comment yet as they say, if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. What I will say is that I have come from both sides (dating in Yeshiva and dating while being a working boy) and where the shidduch world has come to in today’s day and age is frankly quite a mess on both sides. I would like to propose that we as a community get to the root of this rather than looking at surface issues.
One thing though, I’ve become one of the coffee room ghosts so you could hear from me soon or like the last couple stints I have pulled, you may not see or hear from me for quite a while. Take your chances.

On that note, my nephew’s brit was today, my brother-in-law’s cousin had twins, a family friend had a baby boy, and another family friend is getting married this week. Lotsa good stuff going on. May they only continue and grow.

Two words: residual income. That combined with working the average 9-5 I would say is the best option here.
Ok, I haven’t been here in a long while (back to my rare appearences mode). Mazal tov to all those people engaged, with new babies, etc (yes I am trying to save face here).

Granted there are sources for some of these questionable practices (over)drinking Purim night, but honestly speaking do you really think that is what the younger bochurim are thinking? Remember they are yeshivah kids and looking for an excuse (trust me, I was one of them). This is not to say all are like this, SOME do act legitimately but at the same time they are acting responsible about it as well.
There weren’t knights in Persia during the time of the megillah anyways …

Sure. Drop America and go to Israel. Aid it to stand on its own without foreign aid. Enforce the state and make that the world superpower. After all it’s the country that supports the Jews that usually becomes world power. I mean look back as far as golus Mitzrayim.

If I may, I would like to put my (inexperienced) two cents in.
One can’t know if the person they are dating is the person they are MEANT to spend the rest of their life with. What they can know however, is whether they FEEL/CONCLUDE this is someone they can spend the rest of their life with or not.
