besalel: You didn’t address the possibility or advisability of maintaining the status quo.
June 8, 2020 10:44 am at 10:44 am in reply to: If N.Y. doesn’t allow summer camps to open, what’s your plan? #1869094JosephParticipantMother’s were stay at home housewives,in the alte heim, who took care of the children full-time. I agree with GHD that this is the proper way today, too; as many Yiddishe families still practice.
JosephParticipantakuperma: While you’re right that the probability is that they’ll be a change of power next year in the Oval Office (I’m not as sure as you regarding the Senate), nevertheless, if Israel implements the American peace proposal this year, with the full backing and support of the United States in annexing large portions of the West Bank, a Pres. Biden will be in no position to penalize Israel for doing what it did with U.S. backing.
JosephParticipant1. Which rabbonim, specifically (names, please), have allegedly come out on the record to oppose the Trump peace plan?
2. What so-called “terrible ramifications” have the Camp David accords entailed?
3. Hagaon HaRav Eliezer Menachem Shach and Chacham Ovadia Yosef, among other Gedolei Yisroel, are on the record as supporting giving the Arabs land for peace.
JosephParticipantMods, I will be resubmitting the thread in modified form. Hopefully the edits will make it more palatable for the moderation council members who were queasy about it the first time. TY
Don’t you think we’re beating a dead horse at this point. I wouldn’t waste your time.
JosephParticipantCamp is definitely much safer than mass protests. If daily mass protests are permitted, then camp should definitely be opened.
JosephParticipantskripka: 50 men + 50 women from each of the two sides (for a total of 200) plus the band, photographer, caterer, waiters?
What’s New York City’s current legal limit, today, for maximum wedding size?
June 5, 2020 11:53 am at 11:53 am in reply to: What is EY doing in fighting Covi-19 that NYC can learn from” #1868331JosephParticipantThe State of Israel doesn’t make mistakes, dear DY. They are simply the best in everything as they have the legacy of Herzl and Ben-Gurion protecting them; and are now led by the all-knowing all-powerful Bibi.
JosephParticipantAny progress, dear Mod?
It’s a bit redundant right now, provacative in an unproductive way, and the incoming posts sometimes have to be factored in. It wasn’t unanimous, if that makes you feel any better
JosephParticipantCan you share the pseudonyms of all your spouses?
JosephParticipantAnd the Yeshiva does know, currently, dear fb?
JosephParticipantWhy don’t you call the Yeshiva to ask?
JosephParticipantHas the Supreme Moderation Council had the opportunity yet to begin working it out? 😁
JosephParticipantMods, did my new thread which was recently approved disappear due to the edit I made (of a minor typographical fix), and the software automatically unapproving an edited post?
No, it disappeared due to my wondering why it went up in the first place. Waiting to work it out…
JosephParticipantRational: The largest Jewish community in the world lives in one of the cities the riots are taking place in. And many many more Jews live in other cities with riots.
JosephParticipantWhat’s to stop anyone from violating the curfew at any time and simply claim they’re headed to or headed back from religious services, if stopped by police?
JosephParticipantThe very very first official autopsy, in its original report before they rewrote it, said he died due to his prior health conditions — and NOT because of what the officer did to him.
JosephParticipantHow is your communications with your husband? He may have simply never told you he signed up to participate on our forum here since he didn’t think you’d care.
June 3, 2020 12:15 am at 12:15 am in reply to: Dear Mr. President, Send in the National Guard! #1867268JosephParticipantlot112: They go before 5 AM.
JosephParticipantHagaon HaRav Avigdor Miller zt’l said that over 95% of divorced that occurred in the frum community were unnecessary and should not have happened.
June 2, 2020 3:46 pm at 3:46 pm in reply to: Dear Mr. President, Send in the National Guard! #1867068JosephParticipantHealth, DMB: The President can federalize the National Guard. And then send them in.
Or he could send in other Army units under the Insurrection Act.
June 2, 2020 2:50 pm at 2:50 pm in reply to: Dear Mr. President, Send in the National Guard! #1867046JosephParticipantThere’s virtually no chance the Supreme Court would permit any lower court to interfere with how the President chooses to command the military into action.
JosephParticipantAmil, 700 aren’t even 10% of the number of thugs and criminals marauding thorough NYC looting and rioting.
June 2, 2020 2:29 pm at 2:29 pm in reply to: Dear Mr. President, Send in the National Guard! #1867026JosephParticipantThe President can federalize the National Guard. And then order them into action, in any State, under the Insurrection Act.
JosephParticipantThe police will not interfere with Minyanim regardless of how late the Minyan is?
JosephParticipantSince Shavuos, are Chasunas being conducted in Boro Park, Williamsburg and Lakewood?
What limitations on their size are actually being adhered to?
What other limitations on dancing and other activities are in place?
Are they being conducted in the regular local Chasuna halls?
JosephParticipantAt what age did you start shidduchim?
JosephParticipantTakahM: How does divorce help if one of the spouses is beating the kids? It doesn’t. The divorce is between the spouses; both spouses remain parents of their children after divorce. Neither of them are divorced from their children.
JosephParticipantPeople often dream about their spouse.
June 1, 2020 6:57 pm at 6:57 pm in reply to: Has New York City authorized minyan of any size #1866659JosephParticipantWe should call our Minyanim protests.
JosephParticipantTLIK: Can you please explain how men and women experience it differently?
JosephParticipantFloyd was an ex-con who resisted arrest. Once he resisted arrest he bore responsibility for what subsequently occurred to him by the police.
That said, it seems at first glance that the officer who pinned him down acted excessively. If so, that officer also bears some responsibility. Nevertheless, the officer had both the right and obligation to subdue Floyd, who was wrongly resisting.
So the question becomes how to break down responsibility for the terribly unfortunate result between Floyd and the officer holding him.
The other three officers bear absolutely no responsibility for what occurred. One of them, in fact, asked the officer pinning him to ease up. None of the three others ranked above the officer holding Floyd that they could have ordered him to let up.
JosephParticipantSingle and lonely.
JosephParticipantThe police should withdraw from the rioters neighborhood and declare them a no-policing-zone. Let them set up their own security. Everyone else will stay out of their neighborhoods.
JosephParticipantCTL, if those on your list were the “true” ANTIFA, they all were also the true White Nationalists.
JosephParticipantMazal Tov CTL & Mishpacha!!
Why couldn’t immediate family (only) dance with each other?
JosephParticipantadar29 correctly and succinctly answered the OP.
JosephParticipantProbably RY23’s husband.
JosephParticipantThe site, which never was on the right in the first place, has consistently moved ever further left, with time.
JosephParticipantNetziv (Bereishis 1:27):
In the image of G-d all of nature in its entirety was included with in him. From the moment that it occurred in thought and speech that nature should be that way G-d was called Elokim, i.e. the G-d of Nature. And since all nature was included in man, he was thus in the image of Elokim. But this is only true for the elevated man as he was before the sin. And afterwards male and female He created them. This verse is not saying that gender was different in man from the other species, so this teaches us that they were in fact two creatures as I will explain later. And since the male of the human species is not comparable to the female as it states in Koheles( 7:28) I found one man out of a thousand but not among woman. In other words the elevated man is like one who is in the image of G-d and that is one man out of a thousand. In contrast amongst women, they are like the second man who has the name of man but not the spiritual level.
JosephParticipantAre there any statistics available regarding how many of the rioters burning down buildings, looting stores, torching police cars and assaulting law enforcement officers have been arrested and charged with the crimes they’ve committed?
Or have the left-wing mayors and governors handcuffed their police and quietly ordered law enforcement to let the thugs have a day or week or rage and not arrest the rioters who we’ve seen hundreds of openly looting stores in broad daylight, torching buildings and vehicles, with the police out for donuts.
JosephParticipantThey’ll riot again.
FTFY
JosephParticipantWhat do you think will happen if a jury acquits former Police Officer Derek Chauvin of the charges?
JosephParticipantNyBochur: If I’m not mistaken, each TAG office has its own policy whether or not they charge.
JosephParticipantubiq: Rabbi Zweibel assumed his current position in the Agudah about 10 years ago. This was a significant amount of time after Rabbi Sherer was niftar. Previously Rabbi Zweibel was chief counsel of the Agudah.
JosephParticipantI think Reb Chaim Dovid Zweibel should be appointed to the position once held by Reb Moshe Sherer in Agudas Yisroel.
After Rabbi Sherer was niftar the Novominsker Rebbe did double duty as an already existing member of the Moetzes to also take on Rabbi Sherer’s duties. That’s how the Rebbe assumed the title of Rosh Agudas Yisroel. The “rosh” referred to the lay leadership of Agudah, not of the Moetzes (where all members are on equal footing.)
Now that we lost both Rabbi Sherer and the Novominsker Rebbe, we should go back to the original system where the lay leadership was a separate position.
JosephParticipantIt is, indeed, redundant.
JosephParticipantlot112: You cannot rely on him purposefully. And using his due to extenuating circumstances can’t be done more repeatedly.
