TLIK, I don’t know which circles you are part of, but the average yeshivos and beis yaakovs do not refuse children from returning to school due to parental outstanding tuition obligations. Many, at most, won’t send the parents the graduation certificate, but otherwise the children themselves won’t know about the outstanding balance or any consequence thereof.

JosephParticipantWhen DY posted he didn’t yet know you didn’t see it.
JosephParticipantSome people are wowed by meeting the head galach of the religion that has been murdering us for 2000 years.
JosephParticipantThe Rav was shocked because it is unusual for girls to be taught it in depth, despite your exceptional experience.
JosephParticipantubiq, You need a Rashi on every Joseph. (Most other folks understand Joseph k’peshuto.)
DaasYochid is my Rashi.
JosephParticipantThank you, DaasYochid.
JosephParticipantHow would mods factually know a poster’s intentions, without making assumptions?
conversations, emails, phone calls, texts, lunch dates, shabbos meal meetings, third party through relatives or friends…
JosephParticipantThere is no source or minhag for wedding cakes.
It’s like confetti.
JosephParticipantEverything I explained above is taught to little children in Cheder, pre-Bar Mitzvah. I didn’t say any major chiddushim or anything controversial.
JosephParticipantThe girls schools usually omit teaching in depth about ื ืฉืื ืืขืชื ืงืืืช.
May 7, 2017 12:26 pm at 12:26 pm in reply to: $50-million: Lump sum or installments of lottery winnings? #1270870JosephParticipantIf the State legislature doesn’t allocate payments they are legally obligated to make, the owed party can successfully sue the State for payment.
JosephParticipantThat’s a very worthwhile, yet much easier, option isn’t it. But is the reward and zchus for that even a fraction of the way Rebbi Akiva went?
May 7, 2017 10:42 am at 10:42 am in reply to: Too much money on transportation technology; not enough money on teleportation! #1270766JosephParticipantI think you’ve been reading too many comics.
May 7, 2017 10:42 am at 10:42 am in reply to: $50-million: Lump sum or installments of lottery winnings? #1270772JosephParticipantThey’re contractually obligated to pay their lottery winners. And Federal law doesn’t permit a State to declare bankruptcy. So eventually they’ll have to pay it in full.
May 7, 2017 1:21 am at 1:21 am in reply to: Too much money on transportation technology; not enough money on teleportation! #1270605JosephParticipantAirplanes have been around for about a century now and are exactly what you’re asking for. And air transport technology has constantly improved since it’s been invented.
Besides, what’s wrong with improved modes of terrestrial transportation?
JosephParticipantBrachos 61b: Rabbi Akiva replied, “All my life I agonized over the verse, ‘…and you shall love Hashem…with all your life.’ It means, even if they should take your life from you. I pondered, ‘When will this come to me so I can fulfill it? Shall I not rejoice?'”
It says he wanted and waited for this opportunity all his life and now, at the moment the Romans were torturing him to death, he was joyful it was happening to him.
JosephParticipantYou can be slain al Kiddush Hashem at the ripe old age of 120. Of course you may daven for that. That’s the best way to leave this world. But even dying young al kiddush Hashem is the best way to leave the world.
JosephParticipantYou can burn it in America. You’re not permitted to take action to trigger getting yourself killed. But you can hope that when your time comes Hashem has you leave this world sacrificing yourself in His name.
JosephParticipantIf you want to die al Kiddush Hashem you should daven that when your time comes that that should happen.
JosephParticipantImagine the schar in olam haba he received for every scrape.
JosephParticipantWe all should hope that we, like Rabi Akiva wished for himself, when our time to leave this world arrives we should be killed al kiddush Hashem.
JosephParticipantTA, what’s your other username?
May 4, 2017 10:14 pm at 10:14 pm in reply to: $50-million: Lump sum or installments of lottery winnings? #1270211JosephParticipantTaking the lump sum and putting it into a S&P 500 index fund will result in you having more money than taking the annual payments from the lottery.
JosephParticipantWhatever gimmicks used to make the wig indistinguishable from her bare uncovered head, the point is if the public will see her as though she’s in public with an uncovered head, the issue I mentioned above persists.
JosephParticipantI think it would be quite extreme for a boy to seek a heter to avoid a Jewish custom on the basis that not following the Jewish custom will assist him in fulfilling a Jewish marriage.
JosephParticipantBeards are more Jewish than shaving.
JosephParticipantWolf, they requested the statements because you asked for a needs based discount?
JosephParticipantTA complained he didn’t do a comprehensive analysis, so I told him that I didn’t ask him to provide one. He referred to stam a wig that contains human hair whereas I’m referring to a wig that makes it seem like no wig is being worn.
I didn’t dictate to you a multiple choice set of answers you must choose from so your comparison is off base.
JosephParticipantDidn’t start.
I’ll give you an extra word or two – or however long you desire – to respond to the question – so long you answer it.
JosephParticipantThat’s incomparable to asking for a single posek – in the world! – that rules as you say.
JosephParticipantI did not ask for a comprehensive analysis. All I asked for was a *single* recognizable Posek. Just one name. And, again, I specifically said more than human hair, even one’s own, which some permit. I referred specifically to a wig that is virtually impossible to tell it’s a wig. So it looks like she’s going out with her own uncovered hair.
JosephParticipantTA/DY: Please name a single recognizable Posek who permits an eishes ish to publicly wear a wig that’s virtually impossible to tell is a wig, as their only head covering.
JosephParticipantWhy don’t you ask a posek?
That said, it’s nothing Jewish about it.
May 3, 2017 12:02 pm at 12:02 pm in reply to: Jewish Universities: Yeshiva U & Touro College โก๏ธ๐ #1269150JosephParticipantWhich location?
JosephParticipantThere’s a difference between a wig that has human hair and a wig that is virtually impossible to tell it is a wig. The latter is surely assur l’chol hadeios.
JosephParticipantThe claim it isn’t binding only started after the Zionist movement started. It has been accepted as binding throughout Jewish history. The claim otherwise is new and illegitimate.
JosephParticipantAll these questions have been answered. They’re binding. Search the CR.
JosephParticipant*Someone* teaching the girls is better than *no one* teaching the girls. Even if the someone is less qualified than the no one.
JosephParticipantIf someone abrogates their chiyuv to pay your salary, that doesn’t abrogate your chiyuv to teach Torah.
JosephParticipantHire new teachers. There’s so many girls chalishing for a teacher’s job.

JosephParticipantThe first historically recorded concept of a woman veiling herself is in Bereishus, with Rivka.

May 2, 2017 3:23 pm at 3:23 pm in reply to: Technology & Parents with 10+ Children (or any # with a long age gap in between) #1267983JosephParticipantAnd you or your kids, having a phone, never got into trouble? Or were less trouble than your parents?
JosephParticipantYitzchok, Leah, Yaakov and Rochel define Judaism.
JosephParticipantThere are groups using the NK name illegitimately. The real NK in Yerushalayim have nothing to do with them. The Satmar Rebbe and Brisker Rov were very close to NK founder Rav Amram Blau.
Also, Pappenheim doesn’t represent the Eida, despite his media campaign claiming so.
JosephParticipanta mamin, why don’t they wear an all blue bridal dress? Or all of mostly non-white. Why do they wear a mostly white dress?
JosephParticipantCTL, you decline to perform intermarriages when requested as a Justice of Peace? You’re able to always ascertain the parties status as halachic Jews?
