Wolf’s right
yitzchokmParticipantSqueak-
Sandra fluke is not your run of the mill “young women”. She’s an experienced “reproductive” activist, whose sole intention in going to this particular law school was to be able to challenge their stance on this issue. She put herself out there in a make believe “hearing” to get her misguided point across to as meny people as posilble. In doing so she allowed herself to become a (simi)public figure.
Although I don’t agree that this name calling is productive to this debate, calling out Rush on this BECAUSE ms. Fluke is a “young woman” is wrong, in that she’s simply not innocent.
yitzchokmParticipantmore,

apushatayid,
yes, so overwhelming indeed, that a registry where the child can pick out his gifts in advance is the only way to keep things in order.
yitzchokmParticipantsaw the web site,
it seems like there has been illegal dumping of chemicals last year, with the same effects.
yitzchokmParticipantmore,
critical?
Im trying to understand your “train of thought”.
yitzchokmParticipantmore,
“Interesting to note that His Yartziet is a day after Rebetzin Chaya Mushka, (THE lubavitcher Rebbe’s Wife).”
how is this interesting? (and relevant?)

Btw, I did watch the segment.
As a side note, re: Jewish music today,
At the rate we’re going, in a few years “orthodox reggae singer/rapper” won’t rise eyebrows.

I’m not here to argue with rav Pam, chas veshom. I don’t believe that rav Pam would put all children, from all backgrounds together with the hope of having a melting pot effect, when there are other yeshivas available to cater to those children.

Those who talk in Shul don’t were their sins on their head.
And they don’t wake up in the morning and put it on, knowing it’s wrong.

Would the rosh yeshiva have allowed him to learn n his yeshiva in the first place if he had a gambling problem to begin with? That’s the question. Kicking someone out is a whole different story.

Writing about Tamar and Esther in the same sentence as the maccabeas calls for sarcasm
yitzchokmParticipantSam, yes it could be that they asked, and if they did get das Torah, then they are right. I don’t think they did.
Coffee,
I like sarcasm. I use it a lot.
In regards to your comment, the same questions can be asked of the singers you mentioned.

“The parents bring the child to the yeshivah that would be best for the child. The school rejects them out of hand because they are so insecure and have not taught their talmidim..”
They get rejected because the parents refuse to understand that the school they applied to is not for their child. Just because the parents thing do doesn’t make it so. The Yeshiva understands that if the parent CHOOSES not to listen to halacha (by not covering the hair properly, ect), and does so in a blatant way, then, yes, the child will learn that yiddishkit is something to learn, but has little to do in real life practice.
yitzchokmParticipantcoffee addict-
ya, your, right. the maccabeats can be compered to Tamar, Yehudis and Esther. And so whatever they do we must not question them.
Sam-
the maccabeats, (see above), are like some gedolim who took non-jewish songs and were mekadish them for us. End of discussion.
Just because others do it, doesn’t make it less of a problem.

my point exactly.
yitzchokmParticipantSam2,
What you happen to know is irrelevant, since I am writing about their actions, not thoughts.
Copying (“modifying!!” non jewish music, dance styles, makes it (at least) look like they are pandering to the yivanim

Simple question:
do you agree that there are many knds of schools and yeshivas out there, to meet different kinds of haskofas?
If you do, why are you complaining that a school who does not agree with your haskofas will not accept you?
Why would you want to be there to begin with?
yitzchokmParticipantSam, and the rest,
Question, Do you think the maccabeats are trying to impress jews or non Jews when going on live tv?

No matter how you cut it, going on tv to promote a song or singer(s) is Falling in the hellenistic trap, to want to find favor and be like the yivanim

yitzchokmParticipantyashrus20
good point!
yitzchokmParticipantRaphael Kaufman-
And you k ow better then the rabbinm and rosh yeshiva? In essence your saying that they don’t know what their talking about and you, a nameless person writing on a blog knows better what the halocha is.
Well your wrong, and at least I have e right to say so because I’m echoing the views of known rabunnim.
December 14, 2011 10:20 pm at 10:20 pm in reply to: should parents stay together for the children? #835670yitzchokmParticipantAlthough it really is dependent on how old the children are, the mother usually gets away with having all the visitation rights, especially is the husband plans on moving out of town.
I would vote that the couple should stay married “for the children”.

“Arizal was in Tzfas 2 years, only one of them he went to Meron. Also, when he lived in Yerushalaim and Egypt he did not go. He never lived so far.”
Really? It’s not so far? It would take months if not longer to got from Egypt to Mount Meron.

yitzchokmParticipanttomim tihye,
as a p3 provider myself, I would not advise parents to “insist that your child not be grouped with more than one other child”. The reason being that p3 providers get paid per session, based on the amount of child they provide for. I don’t know of many p3 providers who are willing to tutor only one child at a time. I would be weary of a p3 provider willing to work for less pay.
As a side note, there’s nothing wrong with a group session. I find it a more lively and productive then a one-on-one session.
