a rebbe of ours showed us some ‘kmeyos’ [amulets] written by R’ Yonasan Eibershitz/R’ Yackov Emden [one of the two, i can’t remember which one], which had kabbalistic words written all over, written around a Magen Dovid.
I have seen the same from photocopies of the Vilna Gaon’s writtings, with Magen Dovids on it.
Then again, I can’t remember where either of them came from.

— You don’t need to give a source for a posuk. Just make sure you have a source that it includes anything which is normally done by women – I do not belive that a man cooking at home is violation of the Torah.
Heres another example. Rav Eliyashiv holds that its assur for a woman to drive. Why? Lo Yilbash. The S”A says a man isnt allowed to look in a mirror. Why? Lo Yilbash. Anything that a woman does regular is part of Lo Yilbash. That includes cooking at home.
Find a source for that please. Most things said in the name of Moron R’ Elyashiv Shlit”a were never said. How do you know he paskened like that? I have a proof he never said that. R’ Akiva Eiger paskens clearly ??”? ??’ ??”? that the Halacha is decided on the social norm. It is perfectly normal for a woman to drive.

Did you not read the study? ‘Let’s see what happens’ – That is quite clearly negligence – the study has proven that it WILL have an effect on you – denying it and trying is simply mockery. Of course it will affect you, and then you are lost… unless you wear normal clothing for two months afterwards!!!

SayIDidIt – Is it really a true story? I found it extremely interesting, but i also thought that the entire second half of the book is irrelevant and boring. Although the fact that she marries her brother afterwards is quite cool.
apushatayid – There are some books written by Riva Pomerantz – not for teenage boys, i can tell you, but i know my mother and sisters love them . Green Fences [serialized in the Mishpacha], Breaking Point and the like. I’ll try get a full list for you.
For teenage guys – i loved Yair Weistock’s books. Every one of them is totally different. Calculated Risk is good, The Gordian Knot is superbly written with a brilliant plot and totally original. Borrowed Time is interesting – i enjoyed it a lot, and the whole book is without guns and spies… The Time Bomb was a good read, but the plot was ridiculous.
The Link, by Nachman Seltzer, is good for teens, and is slightly better than the sequel The Network.
One really good novel was THE WILL. Very long, but otherwise fantastic!!!

ZABOCHUR – i know what you mean. It is very geshmack for a yeshiva bochur to meet virtual people and get involved in the banter here.
Besides for that, i have learnt many halochos here, although – ?????? ?????? – i have also learned not to rely on them. And some of the philosophy discussions here are also eye-openers.
And, although i have noticed him less recently, THE WOLF is one of my highlights here. I Love his sarcasm and self-decided damnation for eternity… — Have you really not noticed him?

And, how will you get the ID of the person you want to date [unless it is a virtual marriage you are planning] – I remember once a guy was complaining that he didn’t have enough money to fly to a wedding [his brother’s?] in Israel, and two posters offered to donate $100 each towards his airfare – and as far as i could tell from the posters, the YWN CR Mods didn’t pass on the details.
