Sam2: Looks like you have a bunch of different screen names. Anyway, you said, “that is such a ridiculous claim”

What on earth? Sam2 (apparently you don’t read much of his posts, or you wouldn’t have asked about his gender) is a Talmud Chochom who has both a bekiyus in many rishonim and achronim but also has a very good koach hasboro as well as a sense of humour. Quite the perfect poster on the CR.

NOT the sort of fellow who has a “bunch of different screen names”, nor the sort of fellow who accuses people for absolutely no reason whatsoever of having a “bunch of different screen names” because they argued with you.

No, but i know somebody who went arround collecting on Purim, and challenged people to ask him any question on Moed, Nashim, Nezikin, Kodshim (Gemoro, Rashi, Tosfos), Harry Potter or Football. He earned a lot.

Another boy in my Yeshiva learnt Shas before his Bar Mitzvah – he started when he was eight (He wasn’t in school during the afternoons; he learnt with his father) and finished the entire Bavli and Yerushalmi for his Bar Mitzvah. He has a phenomonal memory and he can cite any omud in shas (Yerushalmi he doesn’t know by heart yet). He knows the Shakla VeTaria of the first half of Shas, and is continuing to memorize it. He knows the ???? of most things, and he knows the Rashis as well. We tried to catch him out a few times, but he is really very very good.

“Wandering and searching, a girl lone and frightened

The echo of her footsteps, tales of days of yore”

I can’t check it up because I am keeping second half of the Sefira, but I think that is from one of Yigal Caleks (London School of Jewish Song) classics – the song about Russia, maybe Forgotten Princess?

    Daas Yochid:

Yibum might be a good example. There was a concept of Yibum which existed before matan Torah; that’s what Yehudah marrying Tamar was about. After matan Torah, the issur of marrying a daughter-in-law doesn’t allow this type of “Yibum”.

The ??????? in ????? the beginning of the Eleventh perek discuss this.

Shticky Guy – I think the Eruv Rav (and probably also the geirim) set up camp out of the ???? ?????.

I asked one of my Rabeim, and he told me your tirutz (possibly from the Rambam; alternatively it could have been the Raavad on Toras Cohanim). Another answer is (like a wrote above) that even after ??? ???? if the father in not Jewish, then even if the mother is, the child will not be Jewish (contary to common belief). The ??? ???? brings a proof from this ???.

Another ????? was that we are saying he was ????? at ?? ???? just like everybody else; the ????? is that he came even though he father was an Egyptian, the ???? is informing us that he wasn’t because he came with his mother to convert.

R’ Yackov Galinsky spoke in my shul about 3 years ago, and he said a story about the Steipler (I think), who said “Shelo Osani Carter” when Jimmy Carter came to Israel. I don’t remember why or when. But when Bush came to Israel, R’ Yackov Galinsky (who davens in the same shul as R’ Chaim Kanievsky) went over to R’ Chaim Kanievsky and said “Shelo Osani Bush”, and R’ Chaim supposedly said “Omein”.

I saw an advert once were they played mamash on your point — It was an advert for a beer.

Two guys were sitting in a boat, fishing, and suddenly a bottle of beer appeared above one of the guys heads. The guy grabbed the bottle, and suddenly was pulled out of the boat… The scene changes, and you see two huge aliens sitting in a room, holding fishing nets above a small hole, and a little guy – the guy from the boat, in miniature – pops out.

That is the same yesod – we think that our environment is normal, is the best is the most natural. A fish feels that his pond is the real world, there is no bigger picture. But just like the pond is a mere puddle, this advert was making as though Earth was also just a little puddle in some alien world.

And who knows? Maybe they are right!

Haifa girl – You are right that he should have referred to the style as a capella, but there is a group which produced a few albums of acapella music, and they call themselves “A.K.A Pella”. So “aka pella” isn’t such a bad mistake to make.

Don’t know what your talking about. Either we have different gedarim on music, or we listen to different acapella!

If you would go back in time and kill your grandfather (before your parent was born), would you cease to exist? If you would, then there would be no way for you to kill your grandfather, because you don’t exist. If you don’t exist, then your granfather is still alive, and so you will exist. So if you do exist, then you can kill your grandfather.

A ???? ?????. I believe ? ????? ???? speaks about this in numerous places, about “A ???? which if it will be ?? will be ???? itself” – For example, by an ??? ????? who gets money from somebody ?? ??? ???? ??? ???? ??, the ??? can keep the money, even though generally we say ?? ??? ??? ???. R Shimon explains how this works: The money was given with a ???? that the ???? shouldn’t get it. So if the ???? gets it, then ????? the ??? never got it in the first place; therefore the ???? can’t get it either. So if the ???? recieves the money, a direct cause of that will be that the ???? loses the money. So it is a ???? which if it would be ?? would cancel itself out, rather than it being ?? and then being ???? itself, we say it isn’t ?? in the first place.

    Same sort of ????

Haleivi – That is gonna be a big problem with time travel – If you ever go BACK in time, there is no way you will be able to proceed past that point, because you will reach the time you want back and travel back.

Oh, hold on, that’s not a problem. If you have a time machine, then just move to a minute after you go back in time, and you should miss it.

Mr – It is perfectly simple why your post was deleted. If a user suddenly appears and poses a question (I didn’t see it, but I can imagine) that is bound to induce negative responses – or at least a big argument with everybody calling everybody else an Apikores – the Moderators will delete it.

Such discussions haven’t been allowed for quite some time (all real controversial issues were back in the good old days, see the ‘Controversial Issues’ thread, from the back page).

If you have posted for some time and are known not to be a troll, to use CR-Speak, and if the Moderators decide that there is no Kefira or anything that will cause Kefira in your post, THEN they will allow it.

So that, perfectly simply, is why they deleted your post.

A possible suggestion to the question of ?? ????? ????? ??????? ???? ????? may lie in the explanation to the reason why there is no ?????? by ????? – why is it different to anything where we say ???? ?? ??? ??????

The ??? ??? asks this in ??????? ?? ??. The ????”? (I think ?? ???) explains that essentially there is ?????? even by a ????. But ?????? can only help to tell you that the ???? of the ???? can be attributed to the ????, but the ????s body is not the ????s body.

Therefore, if the ???? puts on ??????, the ???? of ?????? laid on the ????s hand can be attributed to the ????, so it is as if the ???? placed ?????? on the ???? — which won’t help him be ????? his ????.

?????? WOULD work, if for example, the ???? puts the ?????? on the ????s hand (for example if the ???? is disabled and cannot do it himself), then it will be ?????? to the ???? that ?????? was put on HIS hand, and he would be ????? his ????.

    So – ????? – Afikoman is ???? ???????; just ?????? doesn’t help to be ????? the ????.

I still don’t understand how ???? ????? answers the question – your tayneing that ???? ????? is a shvachkayt in the lav, and therefore it is easier for the asei to get around it.

    a) The asei is also shvach, because the same she’aile can stop the chiyuv to be megaleach? So why can’t you compare to a normal case where the asei and lo saseh are equal?

    b) Even after the chiluk, if sof kol sof you have a way out that you are not forced to be oiver on the lo sasei to be mekayem the asei, then you would have to do that, which in this case means being shoel on the nezirus?

I think using what Halevi is saying, that there is a time when she’aile cannot be used, you can answer the second question – sometimes b’poel it is takah not shayich to pater yourself, but it is still a shvachkeit in the lav that it was made with a self-destruct mechanism.

(It might also answer the first question, because in the lo saseh is shayech shelah, but in the aseh – to be megaleach – en hochi nami it is shayich to be shoel and STOP the aseh from coming, but once the chiyuv is chal there is no way out because by then the nazir will have finished the nezirus (Apparently a gemoro; I know nothing about nezirus)

    {So yitaningwut – what Halevi said is quite relevant because I don’t understand your tirutz besides for that.}
