    Two questions:

1-When did you buy your laptop?

2-How did you pay for it, by credit card, which one?

Shticky Guy -Simple: Make it on Pessach/Shabbos morning Kiddush. Why not then? It does not have to be davka at night.

Logician – BTW, the main thing is to give the brocho to the family and nichum aveilim for the torah the child forgot. On Yom Kippur you can make a nice “sheves achim” and sing some Shabbos zmiros, which you didnt say in shul.

Toi: It is “clear enough” what you wrote and works well lekula almo. However, if you are saying besheim the Mishna Brura, then you should write what the Mishna Brura paskens. Look into the mareh mekomos I quoted and double check if you were more machmir.

“and you mixed up what i wrote- the MB is mifurash.” I was/am trying to find out what you are saying from a Shaar tzion. Is that the Shaar Hatzion from the Mishna Bruro, as I did not find there what you wrote bishmoi.

LeiderLeider: In reference to tviloh, your question is based on an assumption that “choslos” can loose its name “choslos” even while you are still using the bottle as a carrier. Perhaps the halocho of “choslos” does not get lost while the bottle is still holding the original contents – even if one adds some kos shel brocho or kiddush wine into the bottle in order to elevate the kedusha of the wine.

Also, bemechilas kvodchem (“let’s hear it, guys!”) there is a sense of some “gaivo” which is keilu oived avodo zoro, its not kedai as the wine one pours into the bottle won’t make it kodush but yein nesech.

Toi: “The MB is mifurash on the subject of kos pagum. With regard to many people drinking from one cup, the shaar tzion says its ok,

Correction-Could not find it mifurash in the shaar tzion. However, the mishna brurah siman 182 #24 is mefurash

Question:”but if you want to pour into a different cup you must add wine. Or you can pour to another cup and then drink from the kos.”

    Toi, look up the halocho in the mishna brurah very carefully, I think you are making a mistake. Apparently the halacha is as follows;

If you pour into a different cup – you DO NOT HAVE TO ADD WINE [siman 190 s”k #4 and s”k #6

Longerekel:”It is certainly pagum in the original cup and cannot be used another time as a kos shel bracha”

How and when is your writing relevent? If one needs a “kos sholem” for the next kos shel brocho, anyway one has to add more wine or water and therefore it isn’t pagum any longer. If you wish to use a heiche timtze that he puts into the cup a whole unpeeled egg to bring it into a kos sholem, how do you know in the same cup it is certainly pagum with the subsequent brocho.

“It is not pagum with regard to the original bracha, only with regard to a subsequent bracha”

Question: If a second person who was not yotzei with the mevurech’s brocho, can he make his own brocho and the drinking will or will not be kos pagum (since it is a “subsequent brocho”) .

    DaasYochid:

“Any time one drinks from a kos, the remaining wine is pagum”

What is your source for this comment? It doesn’t make sense that while drinking from your own cup (some times it may even be a kos shel brocho-birchas hamozon) it would change into a status of “pogum”.

I would rather say, while in this original cup IT IS NEVER POGUM, pogum only becomes once it is out of the original cup – unless more gets added.

    ?????? ????? ????? ?????? ????? ???? ?????? ???? ???? ?? ???”? ???

????? ???? ??????. In other words, to remember the Shabbos which was after creation (it not refering to how the world was created).

“It isn’t questionable lehalocho It absolutely is questionable; not definitely wrong, not definitely okay – questionable”.

It is not questionable to those who were noheg so.They were comfortable with the pshetel and didn’t have enough doubt to change for regular wine and beshiur revi’is.

“besides the fact that kiddush in the day is …… and the “nusach” you speak of is not me’ikar hadin”. Even though it isn”t meikar hadin, it is said as a minhag for a reason.

“A cute pshetl is not a reason to do something which is questionable l’halacha.” It isn’t questionable lehalocho, and there are many that were noheg so – and it is not DAASYOCHID.

The Shabbos morning “kidduso rabo” is to bring out, as per the nussach,- the “ki sheishes yomim oso Hashem es hashomaim ve’es ho’oretz…” How did Hashem create the shomayim & the oretz? With the asoro maamoros. Therefore, we are looking to continue with a brocho which uses DAVKA SHEHAKOL NIHYO BIDVOROI; SHEHAKOL NIHYO (HOW ?) – BIDVOROI (the asoro maamoros).By using WINE for this kiddush, we would say the “borei pri hageen” and not “shehakol”. THEREFORE WE HAVE TO USE SCHNAPS/BRONFEN.

If you guys – and specially the ones with the critics are interested in the “sod” of schnaps/bronfen, I can reveal it. However, the consequences are that from this Shabbos onwards you will want to make Shabbos morning kiddush on schnaps/bronfen.Are you ready?

Please take note that we have not asked yet for rain. Bnei chutz lo’oretz only ask for rain in December and the bnei Eretz Yisroel ask on 7 of Chashvon.

All we did on Shmini Atzeres is hazkoras geshomim that HKBH is in charge of rain. We arent even akkowed to ask for anything until after the first three brochos of shmoino esrei.

    You asked the following:

“The majority of rabbis are reform and conservative.

This question was asked to an amora, if I recall. (That we should follow rov of the world who does not keep the torah.)

    Anyone remember the answer offhand?”

I think this question was to Reb E. Wasserman. The answer to the question is that Roiv & Miut is only said on a sofek and not where there is a vadai.

Part of the parking problem (I believe, maybe I should not post it) is that a good percentage of drive ways may not be legal. Perhaps never filed with the city or have drive way permits. I don’t think any one can just build a drive way as he/she wishes without a permit. If it is done without a permit, at least don’t make them so wide and not allow others to park at a legitimate spot? Let the house owners be “menshen” too !

Perhaps owners should put up signs when others can block their drive ways – during hours when the home owners are not there anyway – perhaps with a condition the car owner display their cell number?

See Ba’ak Haturim (Devorim 25 12) “Loi Yihyeh lecho bekischo” one shouldn’t count what is in ones pocket because of ein habrocho motzui elo bedovot hasomui min huayin.

    Another source:

See Sifsei Kohein al Hatoiro (Bamidbor 6 23) “Ko sevorchu es bnei Yisroel” a Yisroel says first the words of the psukim, then the kohen repeats them, however the brocho really comes from HKB”H. HKB”H doesn’t want the 60 SORIM ELYOINIM to be mekatreig on the brocho, therefore it is said in a somui (hidden) way – “ein habrocho motzui elo bedovot hasomui min huayin”.

Rashi in Kesubos 61b mentions a game named “ISHKIKISH”. The Metargem in the back of the Gemoro explains this game as “Shachshpil”

There are mekoros that say the chess game was invented by Shlomo Hamelech.

There are mekoros that say Reb Shimon Hagodol – the famous Payat from Gantze was able to recognize from a chess game that the pope of his days was jewish and was his lost son whom he has not seen for many years
