Main issue is its ability or lack thereof to block sites/categories through in-app browsing.
TAG have reduced using this program. There must be a reason why.
Perhaps it may be worth a discussion with your local TAG office to find out the pros & cons of this program and what they can recommend for your personal needs.yaff80ParticipantAinohnmilvado:
In the Uk, not only the fast ends early, it starts around 6.15am so theoretically one could have an early breakfast and a late lunch…… 🙂
My guess is that in Melbourne they probably have a similar situaution for 17th Tammuz and 9th Av?
yaff80ParticipantI have a little machine made a company called “ion” that does just this. It is called “tape express”
It looks like an old style Walkman that plays the tapes to the computer whilst the computer records the cassette as an mp3 format.
I bought this on ebay.
Only drawback is that there is no facility to speed up the process.
yaff80Participantshir hashirim should be said before Shabbos – before mincha/kabolas shabbos.
An idea: not to talk devorim betailim for a certain period of time on Shabbos?
Another idea: keep Rabeinu Tam for Motzei shabbos
yaff80ParticipantI once heard from R’ Shimshon Pincus ZT”L that the worst one is a man having a child with a non-jewish girl as this is irreversible (the child is permanently a non-Jew)whereas anything else can be rectified (heard on a shiur given on leil tisha b’av where he bemoans the churban of this dor – intermarriage)
yaff80ParticipantNow I chap why in EY they start with sufganiyot (doughnuts) straight after Succos!!!
yaff80ParticipantI know of a Rov who personally davened ashkenaz. When he took up a position in a shul where they daven sefard he switched: “Hashem understands all nuschaois, so I may as well daven the same as everyone else and not get confused”
Overheard: Some say baruch she’amar before hoidu, others say hoidu before baruch she’amar, but they all say Yehi Chevoid le’oilam in the same place, I.E The main thing is we give kavoid shamayim and do it lishma!!!!!!
September 11, 2013 11:42 pm at 11:42 pm in reply to: When I was younger I thought…Now I realize that…. #1023346yaff80ParticipantAs a teenager I was concerned about what others thought of me, only doing things that portrayed a good image (peer pressure).
In my 20s I decided I couldn’t care what others think of me – I will do my own thing.
Now I realise nobody isn’t/wasn’t even thinking about me!!!!
(Heard from Rabbi Yissochor Frand shlita)
yaff80Participant“say what you know …… it wont take long!”
yaff80Participanthow come no-one has mentioned the traditional leil shishi supper……………….
Colent!!!!!
yaff80Participanthavent seen this inside or looked any Noisei Kailim, but my inital reaction is that this may have nothing to do with what and who they are but possibly has something to do with hilchos Tumah
yaff80ParticipantInterjection:
See Ramban in Vayetzei on the parsha of Rachel sitting on the t’rafim belonging to Lavan and Lavan came in to search for them.
The Ramban is mindboggling but if I recall correctly, he states that it doesnt apply nowadays.
yaff80ParticipantMy friend passed on his ……..
16th!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes I aint kiddin – without exageration.
yaff80ParticipantANALAGY: Rolls Royce is considered an expensive luxurious car. Imagine a garbage collector is given a Rolls, would that diminish its chashivus in any way? Would the wealthy owner of a roller be upset to the degree that he would dispose of his car permanently?
We have a “rolls royce” that is “driven” by Am Yisroel. Just cause a few feel that it is driven by “less privilaged”, does that take away from its chashivus?
Ashrenu mah tov chelkeinu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gut Yom Tov
yaff80ParticipantI personally believe that nowadays allowing a boy to learn to drive is included in the gemara in Kidushin ???? ????? ?????? (a father has the duty to teach his son a trade. The gemara includes teaching his son life skills – i.e how to swim, in case he is caught in a storm whilst at sea.)
Anyone got any thoughts on this?
yaff80ParticipantWhy I am still frum:
Def for the chicken soup!
yaff80ParticipantDaasyochid:
“trousers are untzniusdik for a different reason (the same reason. women don’t ride normally on animals).”
I always thought this was because of simlas gever like a male doesnt wear a skirt?
yaff80Participantmy Tongue!!!
DUH!
yaff80ParticipantWIY & Tina18:
Can you provide a grid reference for the Gra or Malbim? I looked in the GRA and couldnt find an answer to Question 1.
yaff80ParticipantQuestion 2:
In ??? ?’, we say the ten sons of Haman were hung.
A few pesukinm later we mention how Esther asks Achashveirush for an extra day for the people of Shushan to fight and to kill the ten sons of Haman.
But we already said they were hung?
yaff80ParticipantI understand that part of the reason for holding hands is that the man ????? the wife to his house for the first time therefor there is an inyan that he holds her hand in order to be ????? her.
In some circles where the munhag is not to hold hands as one leaves the chupa (??? ????? ?? ????? ????) often they take hold of each others hands just befor ethey enter the ??? ????.
Can nayone explain what is the ???? aspect of a ???? tantz? If it is to be ???? ???? ????, why does it need to involve a garttel or holding hands?

February 5, 2013 8:54 pm at 8:54 pm in reply to: Calling people with questionable smicha Rabbi #995567yaff80ParticipantOne “adam Chashuv” once said that anyone studying Torah as a vocation deserves the title Rabbi just for the mere fact that he sits and learns.
Just as an aside, what about the ones who teach children. Many people call them Rabbi although I believe they are getting confues with Rebbi. IMO They shoud be addresses as Rebbe so and so rather than Rabbi so and so.
Any thoughts?
yaff80ParticipantDef Drambui. I have it every shabbos. It has the KLBD logo on the bottle. It is a whiskey based liquer, therefore is probably not so suited to woman.
yaff80ParticipantMy kid is just over his first birthday, and cries excessively when teething. nothing helps. What we figured out was to give painkiller and put on an MP3 with music on low volume, keeps him quiet until he drops off.
yaff80Participantis the fact that you enable the sheva brachos to be recited not enough to make the new couple happy, thereby completeing the requirement of the panim chadashos being mesameach chasan vkala? (a bit like ba’in k’achas)
yaff80ParticipantIf you only wear it for davening, why is it different than a gartel?
(Although I once saw my neighbour wearing his gartel as he mowed his lawn!!!)
yaff80ParticipantWIY: Just the opposite. The tefillin must be covered by a sleeve or similar (as mentioned by sam2 – ???? ?? ???? ??? ??????). The box with the hole in, is only to protect your teffilin from being damaged as you rub your sleeve over the Teffilin.
yaff80ParticipantIf you are only staying the summer, dont bother taking a coat. It generally only rains and gets cold from half way through Cheshvan until Purim time.
Also, dont take seforim – not because you wont use em, but because they are cheaper there and its not worth paying extra to buy them in Chutz laaretz only to have to pay extra for baggage – and they are heavy to shlep.
P.s Dont forget teffilin.
yaff80ParticipantWIY:
Just to clarify that long hair is only a chatzitsa for tefilin if it is folded over, but if it is straight then it is a natural growth and is not considered a problem.
It is very possible that those who have a “CHUP” straighten the hair whilst putting on teffilin and brush/comb it after removing them.
yaff80ParticipantCan an Ariel have an Uriel?
Why on earth not?
If a person can be called Tzvi Hirsch (even though they are the translation of each other), then an Elisheva can have a Batsheva and vice versa – they are totally different names.
R’ Moshe ZT@”l has a teshuva about Tsipora and Faige that they have separate meanings (one is a generic term for birds whilst the other is a specific type of bird) and are ok together!
yaff80Participant???? ???? ???? ????!!!!!
(And Pharoah awoke and behold it was all a dream)
This doesnt have to end the story. We could have some deep interpratations!
yaff80Participantthere are two seminaries in Gateshead. As far as I understand, one is more openminded with regards to vactional courses than the other. Make your inquiries and do it well!
yaff80ParticipantAs far i am aware, even the girls are not catered for with regards to 12th grade. In manchester there are.
yaff80ParticipantThere was a similar thread a year or so ago regarding Ghd.
As for the college style program, in the UK kids end their schooling with GCSE’s. Most move on after that to Yeshiva or sem. In Ghd the schoolin system ends there. In Manchester there is an option to further that education to “A Levels”. The sems (New Ghd & new Manchesster) offer courses that give qualifications. It is possible many of these courses are in conjunction with colleges and uni’s.
From my experinces there, I reccommend you go see the place before commiting yourself, especially if you come from the USA as there may be a major culture difference!
Good luck with your decision
yaff80ParticipantTahini: Very profound comment! Probably the most sensible one on this thread!
yaff80Participantmany ??? ?????? would save money on the coffee, sugar, milk. they would have a spare room. People may have no excuse to be late for davening, some people would not find a replacement when they would catch up on the “Yach”.
As an avid coffee drinker, I wouldnt miss my daily doses of caffiene, but I would use less Paracetamol on days when I couldnt have it!
“??? ?? ?”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yaff80Participantgr8masmid:
In Gateshead, they would be rightly appalled at the suggestion of mixed seating, and not only that, but they take the further precaution that the Chassan and Kallah aren’t even allowed to hold hands as they step off the chupah, for that very purpose of avoiding hirhurei aveirah.
????? ????? ??? ?????!!!!!!!
yaff80ParticipantThe ??? ?????? of Gateshead ????? married his first cousin.
The story goes that they werent sure whether to do it or not, so he did a ??? ???? which came out by the ???? that ????? married ???. He is called ????? and yes you guessed it – his wife is called ???! B”h he is married numerous years with healthy children, grandchildren and even a few great grandchildren ??”?.
It cant be that bad!
yaff80Participantis eating in a pizza succa called ???? ???? ??????
(this discussion may be conncted to making ??????, cause according to some you are not ???? ????? when on the move)
yaff80ParticipantTry yesoid veshoiresh ha’avoida.
Look at the shaar on the month of Tishrei. He guides you through the various parts of the Avoidas hayoim with the correct thoughts one should have at each juncture.
Sifsei Chaim is another great option.
Others use Sharei Teshuva or Tomer Devorah
September 16, 2012 12:56 am at 12:56 am in reply to: Is there a way to tell if a girl will be a competent wife and mother #896798yaff80ParticipantI know a certain person who would use the following formula to secind guess what kind of spouse a person is likely to be:
Invite them round for a shabbos. If the visitor helps stack the dishes, clear the table, lay the table, strip the bed before leaving etc etc, they reckon he/she is the caring type and is likely to be a kind and caring to their partner!
yaff80ParticipantI had that issue in reverse – I daven personally daven sefard but with ashkenaz for mincha and with sefard for maariv.
I say it at mincha and at maariv. The very worst thing I am doing is saying an extra kapital tehillim, and that cant be a terrible aveira. If it is, tell me and I will klap an extra al chet on yom kippur!
yaff80Participantyeah!
At our wedding a number of years ago we hired a photographer from out of town.
The poses of myself and good lady are messed up. The backdrop had a crease down the middle, that all the pics have aloinbe in between the two of us, making it look like he just took a pic of me and a pic of her and stuck em together!
Moral of the story: You pay peanuts you get monkeys!
yaff80ParticipantBeing a nidche, everything is mutar as soon as the fast ends – besides for eating meat and drinking wine, which continues until the next morning. This is stated in Halacha.
The reason for this (as I understand it) is that normally the prohibitions continue to midday of the 10th because the Beis Hamikdash continued burning until then. Being a nidche, midday of the 10th has already passed, therefore the prohibitions dont apply any longer. However the prohibition of eating meat and drinking wine is to do with the day of aveilus and therefore the eve folowing the aveilus has the same status as the day.
I hope this is clear enough.
yaff80ParticipantAs a ???? in Mir Yeshiva, I davened with him for ??? ??? ???? ??????. After davening as is the ???? in ??? ????? we did ???? ?????. However this had a twist. The whole ??? were done in five minutes! How is this possible? The ??? all said ???? ?? ????? etc to the Rov ??”? who responded with ??? ?????? etc. – ???? ?????!!!! After that he turned round to three people and did it himself the traditional way!
Also I went to hear his ?? ???? one year. I wanted to see the ???? in his white ????? looking like a ???? before the ??? ????. Turned out he was the ??? ?????. He had a beautifully sweet pleasant voice. It is one ?? ???? I will never forget!
yaff80ParticipantIsraeli gefilte fish (carp – always a darkish colour) with mayo and chrayne
yaff80ParticipantA tallis with cherryade spilled all over
yaff80ParticipantI would imagine that someone whose firstr marriage ended through divorce is in a different position than one whose marrige ended through the ptirah of their spouse.
The divorcee knows what didnt work first time round and therefore now has a clearer vision of what is right for them.
The Alman/almana however may have had it right first time and therefore may find it harder to find that exact replacement (if there is such a thing)
Just my own perception.
Is this correct logic or am I way out?
Hashem should help all singles – whether first timers, divorcees or sufferers through death – find their bashert very soon!
yaff80ParticipantBaalHabooze:
Did it ever cross your mind, that perhaps the teacher had said it was a medrash but your grade 3 daughter confused it with Mashul?
?? ??? ???? is not voluntary – its a ????
