Main issue is its ability or lack thereof to block sites/categories through in-app browsing.
TAG have reduced using this program. There must be a reason why.
Perhaps it may be worth a discussion with your local TAG office to find out the pros & cons of this program and what they can recommend for your personal needs.

In the Uk, not only the fast ends early, it starts around 6.15am so theoretically one could have an early breakfast and a late lunch…… 🙂

My guess is that in Melbourne they probably have a similar situaution for 17th Tammuz and 9th Av?

I have a little machine made a company called “ion” that does just this. It is called “tape express”

It looks like an old style Walkman that plays the tapes to the computer whilst the computer records the cassette as an mp3 format.

    I bought this on ebay.

Only drawback is that there is no facility to speed up the process.

shir hashirim should be said before Shabbos – before mincha/kabolas shabbos.

An idea: not to talk devorim betailim for a certain period of time on Shabbos?

Another idea: keep Rabeinu Tam for Motzei shabbos

I once heard from R’ Shimshon Pincus ZT”L that the worst one is a man having a child with a non-jewish girl as this is irreversible (the child is permanently a non-Jew)whereas anything else can be rectified (heard on a shiur given on leil tisha b’av where he bemoans the churban of this dor – intermarriage)

I know of a Rov who personally davened ashkenaz. When he took up a position in a shul where they daven sefard he switched: “Hashem understands all nuschaois, so I may as well daven the same as everyone else and not get confused”

Overheard: Some say baruch she’amar before hoidu, others say hoidu before baruch she’amar, but they all say Yehi Chevoid le’oilam in the same place, I.E The main thing is we give kavoid shamayim and do it lishma!!!!!!

As a teenager I was concerned about what others thought of me, only doing things that portrayed a good image (peer pressure).

In my 20s I decided I couldn’t care what others think of me – I will do my own thing.

Now I realise nobody isn’t/wasn’t even thinking about me!!!!

See Ramban in Vayetzei on the parsha of Rachel sitting on the t’rafim belonging to Lavan and Lavan came in to search for them.

The Ramban is mindboggling but if I recall correctly, he states that it doesnt apply nowadays.

ANALAGY: Rolls Royce is considered an expensive luxurious car. Imagine a garbage collector is given a Rolls, would that diminish its chashivus in any way? Would the wealthy owner of a roller be upset to the degree that he would dispose of his car permanently?

We have a “rolls royce” that is “driven” by Am Yisroel. Just cause a few feel that it is driven by “less privilaged”, does that take away from its chashivus?

One “adam Chashuv” once said that anyone studying Torah as a vocation deserves the title Rabbi just for the mere fact that he sits and learns.

Just as an aside, what about the ones who teach children. Many people call them Rabbi although I believe they are getting confues with Rebbi. IMO They shoud be addresses as Rebbe so and so rather than Rabbi so and so.

    Any thoughts?

WIY: Just the opposite. The tefillin must be covered by a sleeve or similar (as mentioned by sam2 – ???? ?? ???? ??? ??????). The box with the hole in, is only to protect your teffilin from being damaged as you rub your sleeve over the Teffilin.

If you are only staying the summer, dont bother taking a coat. It generally only rains and gets cold from half way through Cheshvan until Purim time.

Also, dont take seforim – not because you wont use em, but because they are cheaper there and its not worth paying extra to buy them in Chutz laaretz only to have to pay extra for baggage – and they are heavy to shlep.

    P.s Dont forget teffilin.

    WIY:

Just to clarify that long hair is only a chatzitsa for tefilin if it is folded over, but if it is straight then it is a natural growth and is not considered a problem.

It is very possible that those who have a “CHUP” straighten the hair whilst putting on teffilin and brush/comb it after removing them.

Can an Ariel have an Uriel?

    Why on earth not?

If a person can be called Tzvi Hirsch (even though they are the translation of each other), then an Elisheva can have a Batsheva and vice versa – they are totally different names.

R’ Moshe ZT@”l has a teshuva about Tsipora and Faige that they have separate meanings (one is a generic term for birds whilst the other is a specific type of bird) and are ok together!

There was a similar thread a year or so ago regarding Ghd.

As for the college style program, in the UK kids end their schooling with GCSE’s. Most move on after that to Yeshiva or sem. In Ghd the schoolin system ends there. In Manchester there is an option to further that education to “A Levels”. The sems (New Ghd & new Manchesster) offer courses that give qualifications. It is possible many of these courses are in conjunction with colleges and uni’s.

From my experinces there, I reccommend you go see the place before commiting yourself, especially if you come from the USA as there may be a major culture difference!

    Good luck with your decision

In Gateshead, they would be rightly appalled at the suggestion of mixed seating, and not only that, but they take the further precaution that the Chassan and Kallah aren’t even allowed to hold hands as they step off the chupah, for that very purpose of avoiding hirhurei aveirah.

I know a certain person who would use the following formula to secind guess what kind of spouse a person is likely to be:

Invite them round for a shabbos. If the visitor helps stack the dishes, clear the table, lay the table, strip the bed before leaving etc etc, they reckon he/she is the caring type and is likely to be a kind and caring to their partner!

Being a nidche, everything is mutar as soon as the fast ends – besides for eating meat and drinking wine, which continues until the next morning. This is stated in Halacha.

The reason for this (as I understand it) is that normally the prohibitions continue to midday of the 10th because the Beis Hamikdash continued burning until then. Being a nidche, midday of the 10th has already passed, therefore the prohibitions dont apply any longer. However the prohibition of eating meat and drinking wine is to do with the day of aveilus and therefore the eve folowing the aveilus has the same status as the day.

I hope this is clear enough.

I would imagine that someone whose firstr marriage ended through divorce is in a different position than one whose marrige ended through the ptirah of their spouse.

The divorcee knows what didnt work first time round and therefore now has a clearer vision of what is right for them.

The Alman/almana however may have had it right first time and therefore may find it harder to find that exact replacement (if there is such a thing)

    Just my own perception.

Is this correct logic or am I way out?
