workingMember
oooh I like this topic. So many things happen I just cant think of any right now..
workingMemberThe water should cover the chicken plus another inch or two of water. My crackpot worked very strong on high and very little on low so I put it on high with a lot of water so that there should stay a sauce.
workingMemberI saute onions in a pot then I put int the chicken to saute along for a bit. I add around 1 T of flour to thicken it up a bit. I throw it into the crackpot with potatoes minced garlic, spices and water. I let it cook for a while. Its heaven, no patchke at all.
workingMemberThat song is not stam stunning. I love it!!! From Hadar
workingMembercheesecake: for example what type of things can you subsitute it for??? If I am going to make a cake that calls for 1 cup of oil, do I put in 1 cup of applesauce? and also is it the store bought kind that is much thicker or do I use the homemade ones that are much jucier?? This sounds very interesting.
workingMemberWow best bubby– I really admire people like you. Mi keamcha Yisreal!!!!
workingMemberoiy dus is azoi lachedig!!!
workingMemberLike my husband likes to say, We are just pashute people and we are not supposed to be the ones to judge if its real or not. There definetly were stories of dibbukim in previous times written down. Lets just have a bit of rachmanus on this poor man whether its real or not.
workingMemberAnd my baby never crawled- she sits and pushes herself around. I was nervous because my doctor had told me to get her on her hands and knees and do the motions. I found out that my husband and I both had siblings that did this instead of crawling and they are b”h perfectly ok, brilliant and made beautiful shidduchim:) I personally think that sometimes the dr’s go to much according to the book.
December 28, 2009 3:55 pm at 3:55 pm in reply to: Recipes for People Who Don’t Know How to Cook #672148workingMemberHey SjSinNYC!!! Welcome back -glad to see you here!!! we missed you over here.
workingMemberDogs are beautiful creatures that are nice in other peoples houses. I personally wouldnt touch a dog with a 10 foot pole and I dont either go near it. I would have a panic attack if one doesnt want to go away from my house. Call the proffessionals for it.
workingMember9 hours passed – how is the baby doing?? I said tehillim for her
workingMemberI miss sqeak, Jphone, asdfgh, ames and another few which i cant recall their names at this moment.
workingMemberI thought you are not allowed to have a few usernames?? I am confused! I have also wondered were they all went…. It became quite boring the last few weeks over here
workingMemberI used it once but it melted- what did I do wrong? I followed the instructions to the T
workingMemberYou can make a Marangue cake ( dont know if I spelled it correct) Make 3 layers of that with Whip and Chocolate. Its heaven and looks beautiful. I think that the recipe is in the blue Nitra cookbook the simcha one.
workingMemberI caught one in camp on the sole of my foot. It was SOO painful I couldnt walk. I went to a dr and he tried soaking it and then scraping it off. Plus I used dr. scholls sticky thing that you put on the wart. It really wasnt getting better. I was getting married and was terrified that I wont be able to dance normally. Guess what I came home from the wedding and I it was oozing a bit. Within a week it was gone. I have no clue what made it run away but b”h for that.
workingMemberFor me its definately Yoneson Shwartz song of the Chasson that lost his father just days before he got married- I forgot the name. Its so hartzig and such a nice mashal and nimshal
workingMemberPut mouthwash with a Q-tip directly on it. It will numb it so it wont hurt that bad. Brush your teeth frequently.
workingMemberFirst of all there was no window involved. They were walking on the street coming home from public school.
Haleluja: It is not even an option to try to talk to them- there language is intolerable and I didnt want a sefer thrown on my head.
Another thing was that i didnt have my cell on me at that moment so calling anyone wouldnt help.
workingMemberMy mother is in the parsha of shidduchim too and I know from her and from lots of others that this is a very normal thing to do. If it is right or not is a totally different story because a picture is so deceiving. I saw plenty of pictures of girls and in real life they are so different. If the boys family is not from your place its understandable that they would want to see a picture before they fly in. If not they should just step into a wedding that your daughter is attending and give a peek at her without her even knowing. real life image is always better.
workingMemberI checked out the website. Looks really reader friendly and nicely put together. I see you are still in the beginning stages ( not so many recipes yet- I will try to post more some other time) hatzlacha raba to you
workingMemberI dont know what to tell you because I am not about to post my name or my friends so just call it yummy creamed chicken soup or whatever you want.
December 3, 2009 3:33 pm at 3:33 pm in reply to: How to Greet Non-Jews During the Holiday Season #671456workingMemberI would never say MC— I am a jewish person and it just sounds wrong. Happy holidays is just perfect!
workingMemberOk I will post the first recipe in this thread. I got it from a friend and it was tried by a lot of people and we all loved it!
Creamed Chicken Soup
2 Containers clear chicken soup ( the size of a pickle container I think its called a two pounder)
1/2 Cup Coffee Whitner
1/2 Cup Flour
Onion soup mix to taste
Mix everything together on a low flame until the flour lumps are gone.
Drop cubed chicken cutlets into the soup and cook for about 15 minutes until its done.
I never tasted such good soup before. Enjoy
workingMemberWell that would be fantastic!! I definately would contribute some of my favorite recipes. I just want to get the exact measurements for you which i dont have on me right now.
workingMemberI saw somewhere listed a group forming for epilipsy.I think I saw it in the liach hatzibur. I will check when i get home.
workingMemberI made 3 shows on power point and they came out beautiful. I never tried to put in video clips too. If you manage it can you tell me how it came out??
workingMemberwell BP Totty, I speak yiddish as one of my main languages and teef is very part of my language. its a regular word
workingMemberwell I just heard of a story ( dont know if its true or not) about a heimishe looking guy that came over to a lady and asked her to take a package. she refused. Later that guy got a yeshiva bachur to take it. She was very suspicious and went over to the bachur and told him not to take it cause its a dangerous world. “nuch a mazal” he listened to her and told the security person. They got the guy and guess what it was drugs. You can never be to cautious. ( It was heard on kol mevaser)
workingMemberDoes anyone know the pros and cons of taking the shot while pregenant
workingMemberyou can find it in any Judaica store- Eichlers the one on 43 and 13…. A lot of stores. Just ask
workingMemberoomis i am in total agreement with you. I have a friend that officialy doesnt talk on the phone, only texts. I hate it. And oh by the way i dont either walk with such people on the street. It is so annoying to walk with a person who is holding a conversation with someone else. They talk and then give a sudden stop on the street thinking and me like a golem keeps walking. There is such a thing called kuved habrius. Cell phones can be a very usefull thing if used in a normal fashion.
workingMemberwhen one writes a tenyoim it is not such a simple matter to break the engagement. Its on pen and paper after all.
workingMemberElliot1234- I hope you got married before the “everyone has a cell phone” stage. Talking on the phone or texing is a very serious problem when dating. I for one wouldnt even consider a guy that thinks his cell phone is more important than me right now!!
workingMemberI throw it into the washing machine and then let it air dry.
November 18, 2009 6:36 pm at 6:36 pm in reply to: Aleph-Bais Interactive Computer Games Online #668226workingMemberI dont know, I dont go for the idea of children playing on a computer even if its educational. We have a computer at home and my children dont know about it even. There are so many educational board/card games out there why get them glued to a screen?
November 18, 2009 5:48 pm at 5:48 pm in reply to: What Newspaper / Magazine do You Read / Trust Most? #681646workingMemberI like the mishpacha and the nachas. The shtern and shpaktiv are also very interesting for those that understand yiddish.
workingMemberBein Hasadorim LOL
workingMemberBest Ima- I dont know what to tell you but I am in awe. Yad Hashem is everywhere.
workingMemberEnglish and Yiddish are the only two languages I speak. I suggest living around people that speak Yiddish. It really is easy to pick up since half of the words are english pronounced with the yiddish accent…
workingMemberHealth- i am just curious. Did you get the whole family together and plan an escape plan??? I just want to know how you go about doing such a thing. Its nice to read but in actuallity….
workingMemberwow melechamaklo!! that is taka teef
workingMemberI dont really understand why someone would put the cell phone on vibrate. Right now the person you are dealing with should be a lot more on your mind than the phone call. Put it on silence. If your not gonna answer it anyway whats the point of vibrate — and then it get you curious to know who called and whatever.
workingMemberha ha!! thats a cute one willi. My s/n is not very hard to figure out. Supposed to be working but guess what im doing instead?
workingMemberI like cooking the meat over a low flame until the sauce that lets off from the meat has finished. Then i turn it over add some spices and water and cook over a low flame for around 11/2 hours. I dice whatever veggies I have in the house and let it cook till soft. Its heaven plus. ( and also very healthy) I personally dont go for soy sauce or any of those sauces.
workingMemberNeither did I
workingMemberThis topic is so beautiful. A good word goes a long way. When I was in labor (for a Long time) I made it my point to thank the nurses for every tiny thing they did. You wouldnt believe how different they act when they know that you appreciate them. I also find that a warm note goes a lot further than a present.
workingMemberDoes anyone know any info yet of the outcome?
October 26, 2009 5:00 pm at 5:00 pm in reply to: Where Do You Buy Your Challos For Shabbos?! #686331workingMemberMy mothers challah beats the stores way way… but if I cant then shloimys on 16 and 43 is great. They are so fresh and delicous. I usually buy them hot out of the oven. YUM
