Let’s rename this post to How Well CTL and Joseph Get Along With Perfect Manners
🙂
wijnstokkenParticipantLaskern
It should be an oxymoron, but since they are so devoted to their atheism, they treat it like a religion. I lived in a city of such people for a few years and, personalitywise, if they were into Yiddishkeit they would be the biggest machmirim (the unhealthy type of machmirim, that is)
wijnstokkenParticipantGeordie,
Because we dont want to turn into Yeoville
wijnstokkenParticipantWinnieInPooh,
Great answer!
wijnstokkenParticipantGeordie613,
Because then it would look like your childhood country.
wijnstokkenParticipantKhmer Rouge
wijnstokkenParticipantIt depends…
wijnstokkenParticipantWhich corners?
wijnstokkenParticipanthock,
can you ask him?
wijnstokkenParticipantIt’s really a trimmer
wijnstokkenParticipantIt’s a clipper, so it might be more “kosher” than the real shavers. “Someone I know well” has been using it for months and even though it does a decent job, it isn’t a competition to Norelco (even with the lifts).
wijnstokkenParticipantExactly. I meant E120 – Carmine Dye from Cochineal Beetles
In Tesco (UK) they used to carry a very nice red grapefruit juice and sadly for those who keep kosher it contained that for its soft reddish hue.
wijnstokkenParticipantSh.Le.
I dont know if you’re who you say you are, and I dont know if you’re serious, but both carmine and grape juice are kashrus problems.wijnstokkenParticipant@dovidbt
If you search for the article online, one of those questioned said it was chosen as a time with no significance so no one should think we are supporting a Western worldview by focusing on Western incidents e.g. Industrial Revolution.wijnstokkenParticipant@Avi I guess that’s the risk when a curriculum purports to teach you how to think.
Also, from my days, for 2 years each teacher taught any part of the world and with little regard for the next/previous year’s teacher taught. Consequently, most of my peers bought a Regents prep book before the test and crammed for the Global Regents.
wijnstokkenParticipantIs this part of some leftist focus on offering a more nuanced or “textured” version of history?

wijnstokkenParticipantMaybe ask to be matir neder conditionally i.e. until you get through this challenging time.
wijnstokkenParticipantYou may incur the wrath of third wave coffee snobs if you add anything at all.
Some people add syrups. FYI, Star K recently cautioned against using syrups at Starbucks as they have switched to a new brand. (Ask your LOR about Kashrus at a Starbucks, in general.)
wijnstokkenParticipantI have had discussions similar to the one the OP mentioned with people who have these concerns.
These people have been in touch with groups across the the Frum spectrum and only 2 names came up as opposed. One of them is still alive.
wijnstokkenParticipantJoseph,
I will add that I know of one Rebbe (Not the largest group by any means) and a huge Gadol from the last generation.Other than that, nearly everyone is supportive of life insurance.
wijnstokkenParticipantJoseph,
Even though there are great people on the side of not buying, it is doubtful that most people without it are followers of those gedolim.
