Ok. You are right. Thanks for setting me straight. I am not against people asking real questions but I get annoyed with the “I don’t think that’s nice or fair…feminist type questions.” It rubs me like they think they know better than Hashem about what’s good fair moral nice and all that.

“i’m not telling people to risk losing their jobs so they can keep sefirah.”

Most chassidim never shave or trim and it doesn’t effect their parnassah one bit. Some of the richest chassidim look like what you would probably call a messy slob and guess what they have more money than you will likely ever earn with your anti Halacha outlook.

I have held more than one real job in my life. How many have you held? Other than your current one of knocking Halacha?

All I want to know is what you like from the deli department. Not so complicated. I am not trying to compare stores. Besides there are already threads that have put down some if not all the stores I mention in this thread. I have come here only to discover some new things to try likovod Shabbos.

“R’ Moshe allows shaving for parnassa”

I would think he also expects one to check with his Rav if his particular case requires shaving and is considered required for parnassah.

I said what Sam said although I wasnt sure about the dog and pig and I also said she is a budding feminist which is obvious and I dont know why my response would make one feminist. Would you open an airplane builders manual and look at one random sentence and take offense when theres 1000’s of things in that manual that you have no clue about and will have to spend years in school understanding? If yes you are a certified idiot.

It is common knowledge and normative halacha that a girls skirt must cover her knees fully sitting as well as standing.

Don’t pretend that you never heard of this.

Many people shave due to perceived reasons that it will affect their business. Its amazing how far people go to protect their perceived business interests. How far does anyone go to not lose some of their yiddishkiet and yiras shomayim? How much money would one forgo to not be oiver on a halacha? Btw most people don’t know this but it is paskened in shulchon aruch that one is chayyiv to lose all his money to not go against a lo sasei (not to compare a halacha to a mitzvas lo sasei just pointing out how we are supposed to view going against the Torah that we are ready to give up every last penny and be broke and homeless to not be oiver an eveira midoraysoh). It would be nice if everyone knew this. I guess its not for naught that learning shulchon aruch is unpopular these days.

It sounds like we are talking about 2 girls who were similarly educated and one girl (Gefens daughters friend) chose to keep looser standards of Tznius. I’m no baki on hilchis tznius but who holds that you can wear a skirt that when standing barely covers the knee which when sitting would certainly bare her entire knee and then some?

Walking between women has to do with kashe leshikcha. It causes a man to forget his learning could be it stam makes him forget even non learning things i remember seeing something like that but cant recall (I must have walked between women). Not sure about the others.

Tell this ljttle feminist in the making not to be so sensitive. Halacha isn’t arbitrary and everything has a reason and its all Hashems Torah. Tell her you can’t open a random chapter in Torah and start asking questions without knowing more information. Its like opening a chumash to where Hashem turns over Sedom and saying how can Hashem do that to 4 cities?! But if you look previously you would see why they were so punished and if you learn the medrashim you would see the extent of their wickedness. The kitzur is just that A KITZUR short version of the bare bones halacha. He just comes to tell you the basic Halacha. You want more you need to open up Gemaros mefarshim shulchin aruchs and what not.

By the way you either keep laws of Tznius or not there’s no halfways tznius. Just like the texters on shabbos made up a term “half Shabbos” which doesnt exist. They are mechallelei Shabbks. Wearing too tight or too short is like saying I occasionally eat McDonalds but I still keep Kosher. Don’t blieve me ask your LOR!

Don’t compare professional websites to forums. Yes on forums you can’t trust most of what you read however on professional websites theres lots of good info. You need to know what’s a good source but there are certainly many places online to get trustworthy info on any topic.

I don’t want to mix in to your business but I hope you took your kids to more than one doctor. I recently heard a radio show about add kids and the speaker was saying that many kids are misdiagnosed and one should at the minimum get a second opinion. He also said that if kids don’t get enough or quality sleep and if they dknt get proper nutrition and are vitamin deficient it can lead to add like symptoms. First make sure your kids have add. Then throw out the darn nintendo because its sso damaging. Kids should read and do creative things not sit like morons with a nintendo. These devices are creating zombie like dummies.

Its extremely rare for that to happen. In such a case it is possible that his Rabbeim or someone along the way turned him off. It is also likely the kid was exposed to certain harmful things or made bad friends. A parent has an obligation to make sure a kid is not being exposed to spiritually harmful things (as much as possible within reason I’m not saying lock the kid up in the house and never let him or her go outside) and a parent must make sure that their child has good friends. There are many kids that may have had loving parents but that doesn’t mean they were given the proper chinuch in the home. A parent has to be mechanech its not enough to just love love love your kid. If you love your kid you teach him or her discipline. You teach right and wrong at a young age and you teach personal responsibility. You teach that life isn’t fair and we don’t always get what we want and that its ok. Its not easy being a parent these days. Its probably harder then in most previous generations.

Chazara is important as well. I thought that the way he brought it out was very good and its a good reminder even if you knew it. I wasn’t really a chiddush but understanding how far the concept goes was a chiddush. It gives the whole concept of meaning a whole new appreciation and is helpful for anyone who ever may have to employ or motivate someone. Sorry that you found it as such a waste of time. I’m still glad I watched it and I think others especially younger people in their 20’s or teens will gain from it if they ever plan on employing people or if they like psychology and want to know how people work and how to motivate others.

You are correct. What is more disruptive is the shushing or if not more disruptive it is at least as disruptive and it adds additional disturbance to the first of the cell going off so if the shushers cared about disturbances theyd shush up and stop shushing.

(You dont have to like it but) the kabbalah sefarim say that the tumah on a woman who is a niddah is extremely powerful. This is the way Hashem made it. It probably has something to do with Chavas aveira.

We aren’t worse off financially (except those who choose not to work and even they are doing way better than poor people of 75 years ago or more.) Spiritually I think we are doing a lot worse than previous generations. We traded quality for quantity and unfortunately its costing us big time.

There are many possible reasons that a kid will go off but if you know any of them you will see that most have one thing in common and that is emotional issues. I think many of these kids are by nature very sensitive and need lots of love and attention respect….additionally I think many have social issues and have difficulty making normal friends. So these two factors isolated them and made them feel out of the pack and like an outsider. Kids who are well adjusted emotionally and socially tend to have no desire to go off. Yes there are exceptions but I’m speaking about the majority. I personally know a few OTD kids and kids who were off.

Its Roman numeral as opposed to number to be precise. About the phone, if battery life is important and you want an all around great phone look into the Motorola Razr Maxx. It has crazy long battery life and basically has all the feautures of the newer phones.

There are many Baalei Teshuva who are successful yet they still choose to become religious. I think that even a successful OTD can come back although it really depends on the persons experiences that lead him or her OTD.
