Where will this seminary be?
WIYMembermusser zoger
The biggest pircha for what you are saying is that lemayseh we see that there are many geirim bizman hazeh and they all know what they are getting into and they still choose Yiddishkiet. Obviously its worth taking the risk because at the end of the day if you want to do whats right and try your hardest you are guaranteed that Hashem will help you. Habaah Litaher misaayin oso and bederch sheadam rotzeh leileich molichin oso. Additionally theres the concept of Teshuvah and no matter how low one has fallen he can do Teshuvah. So I would say its better to be a Yid because we have a neshama and we are a cheilek eloka and what is in store for us is much greater than any of them can ever get. Yes for being a righteous gentile there will be some reward but its infinitely less than what we will get and what we are a part of.

Not everybody here knows what they are talking about (Halachically or otherwise).

There were a few more after him he wasnt the last and there are still a few left in Eretz Yisrael, not sure there are any more in America though.

Why would you wait until then to tell the cops? If they are harming others physically or financially you have an obligation to speak up.
WIYMemberMusser zoger
Some of those things are optional. Not everyone learns daf yomi some prefer other limudim. There are many fine Jews who eat chalav stam and carry in the Eruv (I’m referring to legit eruvs of course). There are also many fine Jews that eat gebrochts and if necessary you may be able to change your minhag so ask a Rav.

Is it necessary to be so antagonistic to sam? (Based on your comments here and on other threads)

The Rabbi you speak of has less power than you think.
WIYMemberAvi K
That’s actually a very smart mehalech. Props to that Rav.
WIYMemberOh shreck
A non Jew can bring a Korban bizman hazeh? I thought if they want to bring a korban they have to bring it to the Beis Hamikdash.

I don’t have a gun. Can you get me one?

To my knowledge there is one well known kiruv organization called Oorah that is good at raising money. As far as I know most others are in debt. In fact I spoke to the head of one famous kiruv organization that offers a free online service of ask the Rabbi any question. This organization is about half a million dollars in DEBT. Besides for Oorah maybe Aish Hatorah may be the only other organization that is good at raising money but then they have huge overhead so I don’t know where they stand. The head of the organization that I spoke with told me that people just don’t give to kiruv its really hard to get the big checks for a kiruv organization. Yeshivas get the 5 digit and sometimes 6 digit checks. Kiruv orgs don’t.

Listen the concept is one should be as Tzanua as possible at all times. Even in the mikvah one should make every effort to be uncovered as little as possible. Additionally one should not look at the uncovered bodies of the other people there certainly not at their makom…
Regarding swimming there’s no problem wearing a normal bathing suit. As far as speedos I don’t know if they are mutar as they are revealing and the pool is not a mikvah. One may not change publicly by the pool where others will see his nakedness. If you want to see hilchos tznius check out halachafortoday dot com website. You can ask him any questions you have as he is very welcoming of questions and usually answers within a few hours.

I wish that were really so but all the shuls I daven in in my neighborhood seem to be getting worse one shul extremely worse to the point where I wasn’t sure there was a minyan responding amein at times.

Why do you assume all Ravs in the world speak English?
WIYMemberBrony
Aspergers is a serious condition its not like being a little socially off like some of them who have a very mild case are. Its a serious condition. You should google it to find out what it really is. My point was that its not ok to be so flippant and use words like aspie, unless of course you are one in which case that may be ok for you to use the term because supposedly those who have the condition use that term amongst each other.
WIYMemberBrony
Aspie is an affectionate term? Do you call people who have cancer cancies? Due to your affection of course.

I was saying to monitor your posts because spell check is changing words here and there.

Anyone in Israel knows what a Chareidi is so they are not tinokos shenishbu.
WIYMemberPopa
You think nobody here knows where you are from? I’m from Brooklyn big deal. Whatcha gonna do about it?
WIYMemberBrony
You are very rude. “Aspie” is short for aspergers so now you are making fun of people who have aspergers. Very insensitive. You should never be challenged with a physical or mental handicap although lack of sensitivity is certainly a handicap but those who have it don’t realize. Additionally, I don’t think anyone thinks that the average frum kid has aspergers. Btw you may have aspergers as one of the symptoms is lack of empathy. I would get it checked out if I were you.

The truth often insults somebody usually it insults a lot of people. I personally witnessed someone go down hill and off the derech due to rap music. We worked together one summer and there were points where the guy would just sit in bed all day listening to the same cd again and again and again. I visibly saw that the music was killing him. It made him so depressed and so low. His language became filthy his interest in Judaism went down to zilch. I can also speak for myself when I used to listen to non Jewish music it brought me down big time. It is very distructive. Go ahead be insulted I don’t care.

+1 Most guys who do Seed have no interest in actual kiruv and its just an excuse to go somewhere they wouldn’t ordinarily go and have someone pay the bills. I know of a group that went someplace and where they were staying there was a TV with cable. One of the guys basically watched tv all day and they all used the TV to various extents. These are boys from Yeshivish homes that don’t have these things in their house. For those who truly want to do kiruv its a nice thing to do but I can’t say I am a fan of the program overall.
WIYMemberProbably stop posting on this website lol.
Honestly speaking I think I would be megayer. I lived so many years this way and I am happy with this lifestyle and used to it even though its challenging.

How can you accuse the Rebbe of being mechallel Shabbos and of geneivah?

I can’t imagine any askan touching this with a ten foot pole. As a general rule askanim will not get involved in unpopular ventures and certainly not those which will tarnish their name and make them lose their reputation. After all these Rabbanim sided with the guilty party theres no way anyone would publicly go and help the other side. I think the Rabbanim who signed that kol koreh including a famous Rosh Yeshivah should open their bank accounts and help out this mishpacha from their own money. No pidgeon shvuyim campaign on the klals cheshbon. Actually pay from their own pocket. That would be a fitting apology and would show the oilum that they take back what they said and have the backbone to admit when they are wrong. However this is all crazy talk and wishful thinking. Life will go on and nothing will change until one day a kid of someone too important and high up for the Rabbonim to ignore will suffer molestation and the whole thing will come crashing down and they wont know what to do with themselves.

And if you had gotten in without “pull” you would have been happy there? I don’t follow how using pull lead to your dissatisfaction in Sem.

You know anywhere I can find the answers typed up?
WIYMemberGefen
I never had to pay for fraudulent charges. You won’t be charged for them.
WIYMemberGefen
My card has had fraudulent charges at least 4 times over the last 7 years. This happens a lot these days.

I guess we should just burn all the seforim on kabbalah and mussar and chassidus and other things not technically halacha.
WIYMemberJuboy613
If you want to succeed in limud Hatorah and understand it in depth and want to be close to Hashem you can’t do aveiros including listening to things that ignite your yetzer hora and dirty your soul. Btw I have noticed that every kid that goes off the derech usually starts with music. Music is very powerful and the wrong music can have a very strong impact on you. There have been studies done that fast uptempo music played in a car subconsciously causes a driver to drive fast. There have also been studies that certain types of music lead to violence and that certain types of music can make teens depressed. No jokes you can google and read the studies if you have the interest. I’m just letting you know that music is very powerful and effects your moods and can pull you into depression and away from serving Hashem. Be very careful what you listen to because it goes in and its not so easy to get it out. I used to listen to non Jewish music I quit maybe 6 years ago I stopped counting. Anyways whenever I hear a song I know in a supermarket or other place playing radio songs I still have to catch myself from humming along or trying to listen and get into the music. Do yourself a favor and stop now before you get really into it and will have a very hard time quitting it.
WIYMemberYmn613
There’s many things people do that they shouldn’t and the answer usually boils down to one 2 or all 3 of the following 3 things.
1. They dont know its a problem.
2. They know its wrong but dont understand the implications or havent yet internalized the seriousness of the issue.
3. They know its wrong and they know how wrong it is but they dont care enough to change. (Usually because other people do it too so its easy to feel that you aren’t that bad. )
WIYMemberIs it that easy to get smicha? Just learn the answers take the test and you have smicha. This makes it into a joke.

I don’t believe you that he went swimming without his hat or at the minimum a black bathing cap instead of a Yarmulka.

Great book!
WIYMemberYou didn’t ask if he has to wear his black hat. Why do you assume he doesn’t?

In my opinion I think its someone who is a morally and ethically upstanding person. Someone who is mature, responsible, loyal and a man of his word. He or she cares about others and isn’t self centered and acts in a way that people look at him or her and are pleased and impressed and think “that’s a mentch. “
WIYMemberSyag
There are halachos about when you can and can’t talk. There are many sefarim that say it is better to stay home then come and talk. We don’t understand the chutzpah it is to come to the King of all kingsls throne room so to speak and start talking to a human being and ignore the King. It would be rude to do this with anyone let alone a king and al achad kamah vkamah withHashem!
WIYMemberSyag
You can’t please everyone and it would be silly to try. They can’t listen to every troll that makes his or her way over here and decides they have a problem with the content.
WIYMemberPopa
Is this a seminary for vegetarians?
May 17, 2013 6:01 am at 6:01 am in reply to: Admitting bad judgement: Is it seen as a sign of strength or weakness? #957309WIYMemberChalilavachas
Yes. Basically when it hits the likes of Hamodia, Yated and such is when the kids in school already know all about it and are talking about it. This is one of those topics they won’t go near any time soon.
