The question is what is he so drawn to on the net? Is he playing computer games all day or online gambling? Or chas veshalom veshalom looking at filth? If he is looking at filth or playing poker you aren’t dealing with an internet addiction. Its crucial to know what he is doing online. I’m pretty sure he isn’t on Torahanytime and just can’t pull himself away.

There is a chance he was just be playful with you especially if you are the opposite gender. You have to realize that people from different countries have a different way of communicating. Its also completely possible that he was annoyed with you. I don’t know because I wasn’t there but try to think if he displayed annoyance with you outwardly at any point which would lead to the conclusion that he was being rude? If not it is likely he was kidding around.

I think any bochur under 20 doesn’t belong in the Mir because it’s simple huge and way too free and many bachurim go there too young or simply unready for the environment and instead of shteiging end up having a big yerida there. Even if you are 20 you shouldn’t go to the Mir unless you are ready for intense learning at a fast pace and you are going good with a serious group of learners. Mir is a place for established guys.

I know some of the Rabbeim and many people who went to Mercaz and did very well and ended up in the Mir.

I would highly recommend it to you as a place for growth.

It says the Yetzer is bad not his heart. Everyone is born with a Yetzer Hora and the Yetzer Tov comes in at 12 for girls and 13 for boys.

I just saw the comments you refer to. Obviously the owners and some of the mods on this site are racist. And they allow Gadolim bashing so what we know about them so far is that they are racist and pro gadol bashing, its not looking good.

Sponsor Torah learning on Torah anytime. Or sponsor some of the various the parsha sheets and halacha sheet emails. I know Parsha Potpourri has a hard time getting sponsors sometimes and he has great divrei Torah.

I think people tend to take insults much more to heart because they have a negative self image about themselves and therefore believe the negative comment more than the compliment.

I asked a Rav and also a second person who knows a lot of Halacha and he doesnt think its assur. I’m assuming either many Ravs dont know about genuflection, or for some reason its not assur. I will have to keep asking until I get to the bottom of it.

He can come even in a generation that isn’t all good. The requirement of an all good generation is only for him to come early. According to many authorities we are well past the coming early stage so now we just have to do our best and hang on. Things will only get worse and I’m not being a pessimist it’s a fact. Theres a weeding out process where anyone not worthy of Moshiach will be cast aside. The yetzer hora has been given free reign to try and destroy as many Jews as as possible from being part of Moshiach. That’s why the nisyonos are out of hand. That’s also part of why there’salmost no gedolim left alive. This has all been predicted by Gemara and midrashim that there will be no leadership before Moshiach. Just do your best and be a positive influence on others. If you read the news you will get depressed because there will be plenty more Jews making chillul Hashems in the coming year and it lookslike the Fbi is on to us and is cleaning up shop. Just stay positive and fight the good fight.

I’m not addressing everything but I’ll start with the pants. She can’t be allowed to bring other kids down. In most schools such a kid would have been expelled by now. Bottom line is a kid has to obey the school rules and if the school has a dress code for their students in and out of school it must be followed. I think the girl has to be made to understand that the school can’t keep her if she’s ruining other kids. No school tolerates this. You also have an issue where the school is teaching different hashkafah than the home. This can cause lots of issues where the kid can feel confused and frustrated. She hears one thing from you but her parents who I assume she loves and respects have totally different views and possibly tell her that she doesn’t need to believe all the stuff her morahs are telling her. Complicated situation. I would say that a mental health professional should speak to her and try to get to the bottom of her behavior.

The only kabbalistic site that I would vouch for is inner dot org run by Rabbi Yitzchak Ginsburgh. Read his books as well. However I would strongly recommend to first build up a very strong base of knowledge of Halacha and Torah hashkafah before delving into this stuff. Learn plenty mishnayos and Gemarah first. You cant skip the first few floors to jump to the top floor. Theres plenty in nigleh to see before nistar.

    Crisis

You misunderstood me. Many people assume that a Rabbi will automatically be who knows what and above and beyond reproach and have sterling middos and the right hashkafah and yards yards yadda. But it has never been that way. Going back to the beginning of our history we have had bad Rabbis. There were neviei shaker, false prophets and all kinds of fake Rabbonim and Rebbes and mekubalim throughout the years. Like I said before, Rabbi often means simply that he can learn, many called Rabbi don’t even have semicha. Today everyone w a beard and went to kollel is Rabbi. Bottom line, even if a person learned Torah, if he never learned mussar and never worked on himself he can be evil as can be. In fact he will twist and pervert the Torah to give himself a pass on all the evil things that he perpetrates. So again stop assuming that because someone has a title he actually lives up to it. There are corrupt cops, corrupt judges, corrupt senators and congressmen, corrupt Dr’s and corrupt Rabbis. Its a fact that has always existed. In the times of Moshe Rabbeinu we had Korach who was almost as great as Moshe yet we see where he ended up. In the time of David Hamelech we hated doieg who was a member of the Sanhedrin who became a non believer and blasphemed and did other wicked acts. Fake Rabbis who only care about themselves are nothing new to us.

You know there are some people who havesuper sensitive. I know such people who almost any comment said jokingly is taken as a personal insult. You may bbe one of these people. In that case you can either go see if you can find a teacher who is like the chofetz Chaim other Rabbi Moshe Feinstein who would never say anything even remotely insulting to anyone, or work on yourself to not be so sensitive. Lets look at it like this, if a person has a problem with one teacher it’s possible that the problem is the teacher. But if there’s someone who year after year is having a problem and finds issues with every teacher or most of his or her teachers then the problem is the student.

I don’t think that the emperor has no clothes I just think that there are many people given the title Rabbi solely based on their learning skills without being proper mentchen. If a person doesn’t work on his middos he can know shas cold and still be an evil person. Kol hagadol mechaveiro yitzro gadol heimenu. The greater you are the greater the evil inclination which has means that as one grows in Torah ones middos and yiras shomayim must grow in an equal and actually greater proportion. When it doesn’t you get the kind of Rabbonim who make the headlines of the non Jewish papers.

The whole story is shocking. If it weren’t respected Rabbonim involved it would be a lot less shocking. I never agree with anything crisis says but there’s no doubt that what these bearded mafiosos did will have a very negative effect on the bachurim in their Yeshivah as well as weakening respect for Rabbonim in general for all who hear the story.

Nanach is not Breslev or Judaism. The petek is baloney or some other cured meat. Somebody played a joke on a naive temimusdik person who fell for it and the rest is history. If you want tobe breslov there are plenty real breslov Tzaddikim to learn from and have a kesher with. Go visist Rav YM Shechter or Rav Shalom Arush.
