    Nope

I saw from the Ksav sofer, Noam Elimelech and others that you can’t bribe Hashem and you can’t do wrong things and just say oh Ill give Tzeddaka and that will just wash it all away.

Also, although its a great thing to have a Tzaddik daven for you I heard bsheim I think it was the Chofetz chaim and others said it as well that a persons own Tefillos for himself are more effective than even a Tzaddik Davening for him.

“Untoward events happen so rarely that when they do, they make the news.”

Untoward events happen so often that when they do, they don’t the news. You really don’t know what goes on the goyishe velt. Or even by frum people who become warped.

According to the Medrash Adam was created androgynous or as a sort of siamese twin with her on his back. (Ever since then men have been telling their wives “get off my back.” Hosafas atzmi.)

Rabbi Orlofsky likes to use colorful language and expressions. I don’t think he believes all men are pigs, however he was speaking about young teenage boys who are looking for gf. Those boys tend to be in it for one thing and one thing only.

It is also true that any adult male can be a pig. Hashem created men with a very powerful drive. If it is not guarded and reigned in, a man can easily becomes a pig and addicted to his desires.

Their claims are ridiculous and you can’t bribe Hashem. If the blockage stems from things you aren’t doing that you should be or things you are doing that you shouldnt then giving a ton of money to Tzeddaka wont change it because its not a matter of gaining zchusim you are blocking your own shefa (abundance…) with your aveiros.

The good people rarely if ever make the news. Don’t judge us by the bad things you read in the paper. I davened this morning with a bunch of yidden who took 45 or so minutes out of their busy mornings to daven with kavannah to Hashem and declare berabim Shema Yisroel Hashem Elokeinu Hashem Echad. This won’t make the paper but there were probably close to a million if not over a million people that did this today. That’s a fact that you won’t find in the papers.

If she’s 7 years older it could be a problem. I’m personally not a fan of guys marrying girls older then them and I think the bigger the gap the worse it can be. Him 7 yes older is fine. I know of bigger gaps.

May I or may I not post the number to the Lakewood Beis horaah? You have threads with phone numbers of various Rabbonim so I don’t understand why my posting of the number wasn’t allowed through.

You may, just don’t post it by itself without any explanation.

This story is in tuvcha yabiu I’m sure he has better things to do than to make up stories about Rav Aharon when he has hundreds of living talmidim as well as many grandchildren who can dispute it. With all due respect I think you’re an idiot.

His point is that people got used to dressing untznius to the point that they don’t even realize what they are doing. I live in boro park which generally is better than other neighborhoods well generally but not always I was surprised to see a woman with 2 sweet looking Bais yakov girls neither older than ten or so dressed in uniform looking like eidel BY girls and mom is wearing a skirt that while standing is at least an inch above the beginning of the knee from the top. Extremely untznius skirt and there are others like her out there. I have grown tired posting about this topic because it’s getting worse and the people who can do something about it are not reading these threads. I’m assuming most of the posters here keep hilchos tznius properly therefore we are preaching to the choir.

Every day after Shacharis, his father would learn for two hours, and was mapkid on this learning period his entire life. One day, a wealthy merchant knocked on the door of the Kotler family, and informed them that he would like to buy a sizable amount of furs. However, it was the set learning time of Rav Kotler. His wife knocked on the door of his room, once, twice, and three times, and urged her husband to utilize this opportunity for his business.

Just one more word of advice, if you try to do it all you will feel overwhelmed and end up doing nothing. Take one idea from this page that strikes a note with you and that you feel you really need and will really work for you (even if you feel like it is hard and feel too lazy to try) and work on that. Dont even try 2 things. Go with one good one and really do it well.

Listen, theres a concept of tefillas shav where you simply arent supposed to daven for that thing. Theres other concepts of tefillah as well. Tefillah isnt magic, Hashem wants us to help ourselves and do our best and then daven for His help, if we arent doing ours we can Daven but Hashem is not going to answer such a Tefillah. If you dont go to work but Daven your heart out you will starve to death because you didnt do hishtadlus. We are required to do Hishtadlus in every area of life. There’s bechira, and Hashem gave us a brain if we choose not to use it and then just Daven then we are being foolish. Tefillah is when you did all you can and the rest is in Hashems hands.

Right, because before the sin they had no interest in physicality. So clothing was created to cover that up, instead now clothing is all about making you think about whats covered up!

Sometimes the messenger is to blame. We all have bechira and if someone chooses to do something or chooses not to do something they must take responsibility for that.

You are welcome. You should know that the internet as a whole is not a good place for people contemplating suicide chas veshalom. You can google about suicide and internet if you wish. You need to find things that make you happy and make you feel good about yourself. Wasting time on the net doesnt make one feel better in most cases…

I would like to add that many people think that life is supposed to be easy and thats why they get so upset when its not. The Lubavitcher Rebbe said that life isnt fair. It wasnt meant to be. Everyone is here for a reason and everyone is given different challenges that will bring out the best in them. I cant have your challenges because they arent tailor made for me to bring out the best in me. Hashem doesnt make mistakes. He created you with the life setting you need to become great. Furthermore he created you with the personality and tools that will enable you to overcome your challenges to bring out your inner greatness. Don’t stop davening and dont stop believing in yourself. You are great and you have infinite potential inside of you. Push yourself to accomplish great things.

There is a big mistake a lot of people make regarding Tzniyus. It really isn’t about the men. Men also have hilchos Tzniyus! It’s about you and Hashem. Hashem wants us to focus on and accentuate who we are on the inside in our hearts and souls and that’s what we should be projecting outwardly to the world. Even if no men are around a woman should dress appropriately because of who she is. She should take pride in knowing that she has inner beauty and uniqueness because of how Hashem created her and that she is an original there never was and never will be anyone quite like her. By not dressing appropriately be it a man or a woman you simply cheapen yourself and show that all you are is a nicely shaped piece of flesh that looks good in designer clothing made to attract the eyes. You basically are saying you don’t think you are worth anything and you don’t think humanity is worth anything other than how attractive they look. If I look good enough to be noticed then I am worth something if nobody notices then I am worthless. This is what the corrupt fashion world and the corrupt society we live in wants us to believe. This in essence is a big part of the Greek philosophy that hasn’t disappeared and in fact has made a huge comeback in the world.

You cant walk into oncoming traffic and pray that you wont get hit. If this place is clearly dangerous to her shes not allowed to be here therefore choosing to remain here and “praying” that it wont damage her is moronic. Hashem isn’t the tooth fairy. Theres rules to prayer and when its just not going to work. Do you honestly think that after what happened to her Hashem wants here here? If the answer is no or any shade of no then praying will be useless.
