Shouldnt be here posted a Tzitz Eliezer who is matir. So you were right there is a heter especially for those who are in public aisles but he does make it sound like if the person is not in the public aisle one should try to be careful.

I looked up the Titz Eliezer and the only issue I have is that he doesnt really discuss the part about the Shechina. He refers to some Eishel Avraham but I have no idea where because he doesnt give an exact source.
So I see we have our heter. Either way, I will continue to be makpid on this as much as I can. However it is clear, anyone who davens in a public aisle is a nuisance and one certainly doesnt have to worry about disturbing such a person.

Do you have the text of what the Tzitz Eliezer says online?I don’t have access to one at the moment.
If not, just let me know what he says. Does he say that Lchatchila one can walk in front of a person?
WIYMemberBig Yehuda Green fan.
In my opinion he sings straight from the heart. Another great singer would be Baruch Levine, beautiful songs and he also sings straight from the heart. They dont have the best voices but the music touches you.
Im still a huge Avraham Fried fan and that wont change any time soon!

As I said earlier, when its a factor in Halacha, it says it straight out just as you have shown. When its not a factor, its not mentioned.

Yes, before the day the Melachim came it seems like it had stopped, (meaning it had stopped years before that) then the Melachim came and it started again.

I think your theory might be a bit of a stretch. He almost sounds like a BT who is going overboard or someone who frummed out and became really extreme. Somebody is feeding him extreme Hashkafos. Or the Yeshivah he is in is very extreme…not sure exactly.
At first I thought he was a troll, and Im not 100% convinced he isnt yet he seems pretty serious and consistent about what he posts.

The reason I dont give up is because you are distorting Halacha! Im not kidding you, nobody heard of this Heter that you are claiming. Your Rabbi cant make up Heteirim and neither can you just because you dont want to keep Halacha.
I asked your question to gateways ask the Rabbi and this is what came back:
On October 21, 2010 5:18PM submitted the following question to asktherabbi.org
Hi Rabbi , I was discussing the Halacha of not walking 4 Amos in front of one davening Shemona Esrei with someone and the person said a Rov (I don’t know who the Rov is or how competent he is) told him that nowadays its not a problem because people don’t really have Kavana by davening. So he claims that because we don’t have Kavana therefore the Shechina doesn’t come so its no problem. Now I never saw such a Heter in any Halacha sefer so I want your opinion. Is this a valid Heter or a mistake on the part of the Rov who gave the Heter? Thanks
Dear :
I have no idea. I have never heard that idea before. The Halacha seems to be quite clear and I am not familiar with a source in Halacha that says that a lack of Kavanah means that the Halacha is not applicable.
Best regards,
Rabbi

Definitely not! 🙂
WIYMemberWhen traveling in the summer months it is very common for one to want to
buy mezonos rolls to avoid washing. However, as will be explained below, these
rolls are not mezonos.
The Shulchan Aruch3 says, (based on the opinion of the Rambam),4 if dough is
kneaded with honey, milk or fruit juice, and the fruit juice is recognizable in the
bread, the beracha on the bread is mezonos. The Rama5 disagrees, and says such
juice or spices, in which case the beracha would be mezonos. The Mishnah Berurah,6 as
well as many other poskim, maintain that the fruit juice, etc has to be most of the
mixture, and one has to actually taste it in the bread in order for the beracha to be
a mezonos.7 Others say that although it does not have to be most of the mixture, it
needs to be a lot.8
has mostly fruit juice then one does not need to taste it in the mixture. However,
Torah is only going according to the opinion of the Shulchan Aruch and not the
to specific kinds of juice none of which are currently used in baking. Thus one
following only one part of that opinion while arbitrarily rejecting the other. That
is an amazing feat more probably the province of jugglers and circus performers
than Rabbonim.12

Some claim that the aforementioned reasoning can be extended to mezonos
rolls causing their beracha to be a mezonos.13 However such reasoning is fallacious
and causes thousands of people on a daily basis not to wash and bentch properly,14
since the taste of most items with fruit juice is not significantly different than
that of regular bread. Additionally, people eat the roll in order to have the same
experience as eating regular bread. It is strange to say that it can be called cake
and one can avoid washing by eating this mezonos bread,15 especially since one
is being kovea seuda on it.16 Even Sefardim who follow the opinion of the Mechaber17
should wash and bentch in this situation since one cannot tell the difference
between this bread and other breads.18
Additionally, most apple juice is made from concentrate which does not have
the same status as complete fruit juice, since water is added to reconstitute the
juice.19 Accordingly, the rolls from a bakery that use apple juice from concentrate,
are mostly made with water, and one would be required to wash and bentch
according to everyone.20

In conclusion, the practice of giving out mezonos rolls on airplanes and at simchas
rolls cannot co-exist.22 This is even if it says on the wrapper that the beracha is
mezonos.
Fortunate are those hechsherim which do not allow bakeries to make mezonos rolls.
and bentching. However, in reality this is not the din and one must wash and bentch.23
Many poskim say that such rolls should only be eaten during a meal where one has
washed on regular bread.24

There’s something I don’t understand, where was the Rabbis identification with this Tefillin? There was a tag or card?
Is it a brand new pair of Tefillin?
I just had a thought, maybe it belongs to a Lebavitcher shliach, one of those guys that offers to put tefillin on people. Some of those guys even operate in subway stations. Either way, it is quite possible that it belongs to such a person. That’s why it didn’t have a name because it may not be his personal pair of tefillin, just one that he uses for this purpose.

Than why doesn’t a single sefer say that?!
Besides, you are forgetting there are 2 reasons.
1. You are disturbing the persons Kavana
2. The Shechina is there
So first of all, who says how much Kavana is required for the Shechina to be there? Maybe the littlest bit is enough. Or maybe the Shechina is there automatically when one starts Shemona Esrei Hashem comes to hear our Tefillos, regardless of his Kavana levels. Of course we have a responsibility to have kavana when we daven.
Now on the other reason, the Kavana aspect so even if you will say that we have very little Kavana, we still have some Kavana and therefore it is assur to distract someone because you are ruining whatever Kavana he does have. Basic bein adam lchaveiro here! There’s no heter to distract another person who is davening!
I have seen it brought down in contemporary Halacha seforim that someone who talks in shul and thereby distracts others who are davening are guaranteed 100% that their Tefillos WILL NOT BE ANSWERED!!!
So obviously Halacha values our Kavana.

Last time I checked horns were made to be honked and if theres a reason to honk, you honk. So what was wrong he was on the phone? Dont judge this Rosh Yeshiva based on an isolated incident, you have no idea what may have been going on, maybe he had an emergency call?
WIYMemberSacrilege
You are not a liar (to my knowledge) and I am not calling you one. However, there is good in everyone. But to say to someone unintelligent, “Oh you are so smart” or to say to someone who has a bad sense of humor “oh you are so funny!” is disingenuous and flattery. One may not do that. Compliment a person on what they are truly good or what they truly possess.

If you were born a normal male with normal Teivos, it will be challenging enough to ONLY look at your wife and not at any other woman. That in itself is a HUUUUGE Madreigah, to be able to control your eyes and not look at women on the street, at simchas…..
Theres a famous vort from Reb Zisha of Anipoli, he was overheard in his room, crying and berating himself, he said it in Yiddish but I will put it in English “When you go up to Shomayim Zishe, they arent going to ask you, why werent you a Moshe Rabbeinu, but they are going to ask you why werent you Zisha!”
Mosherose, its not our job to be Avraham Avinu. He came to this world already and did what he was supposed to do. Its our job to now do what we were brought here for.
Go one step at a time. One Madreiga at a time. Always with guidance. Seek guidance from a Rebbe. Dont be a hotshot and do things on your own. You go too fast you will come crashing down.
WIYMembercharliehall
Thanks. Good, thats a good start, hopefully it will lead to something. I will IY”H print it out and put them on tables in shul tomorrow.

You will need to bring a photo ID and be able to say what on subway line you lost them and give the approximate date.
So that will be a problem. We need a mocher to get involved. For now I suggest everyone printing out copies of Charlie Halls first post and distributing it in his shul or shuls he davens in, or yeshivah.

I would think as a priority a BT should do what his family minhag was and do it. If he has a religious grandfather or grandmother or other relative that is still alive they would be able to help him/her.
If that is not available then adopt the Rebbes minhagim.

There is no need to write H-ashem as Hashem is spelled Heh Shin Mem. If it were spelled with a Yud before the Heh then I would hear the need for a dash. The point of Hashem is so as not to say or write Hashems name or the English name which starts with the letter G capice?
