I hear you…but how many girls bend like Rus in real life? Most don’t. I don’t think its a chiyuv for a girl to bend that way. If it is quote me sources.

A girl can’t bend over because she has to worry maybe a guy is watching her? That’s extreme I think. I’m a guy and I try to watch what I see but I can’t condone making women miserable because we have a yetzer hara.

I would say that if the bowling alleyy is packed with guys maybe a girl shouldn’t go. But if there aren’t a lot of men there and they can get a lane next to other girls it shouldn’t be a problem.

So what’s the “new” Hadar. Meaning what’s the new place that has the reputation like the old Hadar?

You watch todays tv and aren’t disgusted by the level of filth? Everything is about boy friends and girlfriends and sex and glorifying the female body and all that. Even the kid shows have those elements.

Hashem calls Cham Arur so all his children are Arur I believe Eliezer was a descendant of Cham so that’s why he is Arur. Avraham wasn’t insulting him just stating the facts.

I think part of the problem is the world molester sounds too benign. We should call them serial child rapists. That would wake some people up!!!!

“Al tarbeh sichas im haisha. Its better that they talk to theire friends than engage in idol chatter with theyre wifes.”

For once I agree with you, idol chatter is avodah zora and one should be prepared to give up his life and not do avodah zara.

But talking to ones wife is a mitzvah.

Anyone here not pro handing molesters to police is either

    1. A molester

    2. Ignorant

    3. Has no kids

If you had kids and someone molested them you’d probably give him the baseball bat treatment. They are monsters and deserve to be locked away forever.

Surprised they don’t know who Mike Tyson is. Baruch Hashem the sheltering has worked. However it couldn’t hurt them to know some history so that they’d know that Che Guevara is the guy that discovered America.

There’s a reason why people say “bshaah tovah” or “beito ubizmano” Hashem has a plan for all of us. I know some great people truly wonderful guys who got married after 30. There’s a right time for everything. Your time or your spouses time hasn’t arrived. Another point, who knows what Hashem is sparing you by making you wait a long time for your spouse. Hashem works in mysterious ways and many times something that appears bad and may be difficult is to spare you from something much worse.

Actually, I look at being single as an opportunity. When you are married, life gets in the way of a lot of things. There’s so many things we can work on and do and experience now that will be so much harder once married. We have the chance to grow with nothing getting in the way. We can get involved in chassadim which a married persons schedule wouldn’t permit…

I’m not a huge drinker of wines or any alcohol for that matter but I find that Segal Fusion Red is a very drinkable blended wine that many non wine drinkers enjoy.

Not expensive and worth every penny.

I’m a guy, however I have seen many frum yeshivish looking girls going bowling. I have seen other types as well but I think we have to be careful before we go ahead branding bowling as not tznius. I do think that to a certain extent if you don’t let girls do anything you are almost forcing them to rebel.

I approve, and think this is correct. Yeshivish Girls would not be caught dead bowling.”

Yeshivish is relative. I think you are referring to the real eidel yeshivish types. I think a typical girl would go bowling.

“There is a place in Chester NJ where for 4 hours (and a meager $1,695) you spend 4 hours driving late-model exotic super cars. You drive 5 cars for 20-30 minutes each on a scenic road course, and then you rotate.

I wanted to get this for my father for his birthday, but unfortunately he works to hard and cant take the time… Hopefully for the big 6-0.”

Sounds amazing actually! Do you have a link for their website?

P.s. I cant believe you have $1,695 to plunk down for your dads birthday. You must do well in business. Or have a nice trust fund lol. Its nice to see that you would do that for your father.

“rather its not so refined for girls to move the way you have to when you bowl with other men around.”

Im not sure what that even means normal bowlers just bend over a little and throw the ball. Is that the problem?

I have a Seminary question. Which of the more yeshivish or Heimish (I mean for regular Brooklyn girls) Seminaries (anywhere in the world) would you say spends the most time discussing Hashkafah and really gives the girls a tangible understanding of Yiddishkiet and real spiritual growth?

You guys have a better idea? Its not like theres a whole bunch of affordable Jewish women babysitters looking to go take care of kids.

The options are limited and those who can afford it and dont need to work watch their own kid.

    There are kosher outlets.

There are kids that play outside. Young girls can ride bikes and do all the other things that kids do outside.

Theres no reason why they cant have hobbies like dance, art, music, drawing, they can go swim at a Y or jcc…

Theres tons of things kids can do. Before there were movies kids had what to do, and families that dont watch movies find things for their kids to do. Maybe its just easier for mom and dad to have little girl or boy watch movies. That way the parents can do what they want and know the kid wont move for 1-2-3-4 whatever # of hours!

Its a way of getting kids off of your head.

    kapusta

Todays pg movies are not appropriate. Its not the 90s anymore. You cant find anything kosher anymore. Theres always things having to do with boy girl relationships and other things that Jewish kids dont need to know about at that age.

Sorry but in my book, letting kids watch things they shouldnt or go places they shouldnt is a form of child abuse. Its spiritual child abuse. Their neshamos arent yours to play Russian roulette with!

Dont give up. Not everybody learned how to learn in Yeshivah. What it takes is a commitment and dedication to learn how to learn. Just like you have excelled in other areas of your life you can learn to excel in learning. Why is it that when it comes to learning people give up quickly yet they never give up on trying new things in business, trying to make it “big” people have all the energy and motivation in the world and try and try and try.

I guarantee you that in a year or less of serious commitment (a 2-3 hours a day minimum no distractions) you can know how to read the average Gemara without looking at the other side.
