I hear you. I actually had a bit of a hard time with leaving early Friday. My boss was Jewish but not frum and he always tried to push me to stay later. It was very annoying to say the least.

I dont know anyone who was fahrhered. Unless you call a Fahrher “Oh what Meshechta are you learning?” “Oh what daf?” “Oh the sugyah of such and such?” Gishmacke inyan. End of fahrher. Most fathers dont even know enough to Fahrher lets be honest, if the bachur is holding in the sugya and the father most likely is not he will just make the girls father look like a doofus. So why bother fahrhering?

Oh ok. Does it bother you that you dont work with frum people? Do you prefer that you dont work with frum people?

I used to work in a place with non frum Jews and some non Jews and I didnt like the atmosphere. But I guess every place is different.

Thanks for the advice. I dont think farhering really goes on anymore. But whoever fahrhers me will live to regret it because I will turn the tables on him.

When I said you I wasnt talking to you personally. But if you are heavy dont expect guys (or their mothers and sisters) to look away from that.

    so right

I said normal weight. I want a girl who is in the normal percentile. If her ribs are visible without sucking in her stomach shes too skinny. I want someone normal weight. I dont find the skinny like a twig fragile looking girls (who try to look like todays models) attractive. Im actually afraid one day a strong wind will blow her away if I marry one of those. Lol.

Please. Looks and a killer body are important to many guys but if the girl has an unpleasant nature it ain’t going nowhere. A bad personality can make the prettiest girl look hideous.

I don’t know what you look like and for all I know you have the looks body and chilledness. Hashem has a plan for you. I don’t know why you are still single but you know you aren’t alone. There are 100’s of great girls in your boat. All I can tell you is, it can only help to come closer to Hashem. Your recent changes Movies tv music…will definitely make a Roishum in shomayim. Keep growing keep working on yourself.

For the record most guys care that the girl has a healthy body. But don’t excuse being fat with guys are shallow and I’m ok. If you are fat YOU have a problem with food. You need to work on your self control and it can likely be a sign that there are other areas of your life being out of control.

Every fat girl I (I mean 20 pounds + overweight) ever dated or that I know of or am related to has issues. Sorry if its not politically correct.

I would say simcha must come from within. True simcha comes when a person is living how they should and is close to Hashem. Sadness or depression comes from sin and from the sadness of the neshama that its being put through such spiritual torture.

Simcha is the result of working on oneself and changing and growing. Stimulants don’t provide simcha. That’s not simcha that’s sillyness, giddiness, hyperness, hallucinatory…

Simcha doesn’t mean you smile all day btw. Its a general state of happiness with who you are and where you are going with your life.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder just because you may not think you are attractive doesn’t mean you aren’t and there will be plenty of guys out there who will find you attractive. If you aren’t a natural beauty you can still look really good if you know how to apply cosmetics properly.

Anyways as for being rich, that’s out of your hands but if you have a good degree behind you that can mean there’s earning potential.

Now for being chilled, that is something you can work on. I’m telling you now, we guys are not perfect and it drives us crazy to have someone on our heads nagging us and pointing out our flaws. Most guys also can’t stand girls who are moody or kvetchy or overly emotional and cry over everything.

You don’t have to feel chilled inside, just act chilled and make your husband think you are chilled, and keep up the act until it becomes you.

    MOd 80 et al.

I asked a Rabbi. The Halacha is a prerecorded shiur it is ASSUR to say Amen on a Bracha on food or davening..

If he says may Moshiach come it is permitted but not necessary to say Amen.

If it is a live hookup and its immediate without a delay then one should say Amen.

    Schnitzel: A Crumby Situation

Whenever you have two foods that combine to make one dish, the bracha made on the dish will be the bracha of the ikur (primary) food as opposed to the tofel (subordinate) food. However, where a mezonos product (one of the five grains) is the tofel in a dish, the mezonos food will automatically be treated as the ikur so long as it is enhancing the taste of the ikur in the dish.

There is a dispute amongst the poskim as to the proper bracha on breaded fish and schnitzel (breaded chicken). R’ Bodner, in his sefer on Hilchos Brachos, writes that he heard from R’ Elyashiv that the proper bracha is mezonos. He bases his psak on the fact that the tofel consists of one of the five grains and is used to enhance the taste of these dishes. However, R’ Bodner writes further, that he saw in a sefer in the name of R’ Moshe Feinstein that the proper bracha on these dishes is shehakol and not mezonos. R’ Moshe bases his psak on the fact that the breadcrumbs are such an insignificant tofel that in such an instance the bracha will follow the ikur, which would then be a shehakol eventhough the tofel consists of one of the five grains.

The Sefer Pischei Halacha states, that most poskim pasken that the proper bracha on the above mentioned dishes is a mezonos. However, he notes, that if one wants to remove himself from controversy, he should make a mezonos on the crumbs of that dish and a shehakol on a different dish that certainly requires a shehakol.

There are many segulos for many things. It depends what you need help with but the best segulah under the sun is Teshuvah and coming closer to Hashem.

    Segulos are just short cuts.

If one is a guest at someone’s house (and staying there overnight), one should give the owner a small amount of money to buy a portion in their candles and one may fulfil the obligation through the owner. Alternatively the guest may light his own Menorah.

In exceptional circumstances one may light one and a quarter hours before sunset with a blessing. (However one should be careful to put in more oil or to use longer candles). If possible it is better to appoint an agent to light candles at the correct time, than to light early.

If one forgot or was not able to light at the correct time, one may light as long as people are still awake in the house in which one is lighting. (Your house)
