No worse than attacking the kiddush on Shabbos and fressing as if you haven’t eaten in days.

Google yelp and Caesar’s Bay Bazaar. All sorts of complaints. Maybe the police are in on it too if they are getting complaints and not doing anything? Extortion??

If you get towed when you were actually shopping, call Toys R Us and complain. Word of this gets out and it will be bad for business.

Have any of you called the police about these guys demanding $200 cash? You might get faster results than if you wait to hear back from politicians.

Having a pet can teach children responsibility and compassion for all of Hashem’s creatures. If we cover the challah at kiddush as a lesson that the challah shouldn’t be ’embarrassed’ (and therefore we should be be careful not to embarrass our fellow Jews), then having a pet can also be a constant reminder to be aware of our actions and to extend consideration to people around us as well – ‘be careful not to step on the cat/little sibling’, ‘make sure the dog has food and water/offer family members & guests a drink/food’ (kibbud av v’em & hachnassas orchim), etc…

Instead of ‘telling’ each other what to do, they should be asking each other, using please and thank you. One small but important way to divorce-proof a marriage.

If he doesn’t want to do that much, then he is definitely looking for a personal assistant, or a maid, not a wife.

Wolf, sometimes I understand how sarcasm can help diffuse some of the anger I know I feel when I read about people doing things that fly in the face of Torah, but it is often painful for me to read your more biting comments about yourself. As was mentioned above, you’re not allowed to speak loshon hara about yourself. We manufacture enough tsouris on our own as a communtity – please don’t add to it 🙁

Aurora, if you can take your mom to a place where religious Jewish women buy wigs, it may be comforting to her to be among women for whom wearing wigs is a completely normal part of life. May your mom have a refuah shleimah!!

Look… if you’re wishing someone Good Shabbos, it’s because it’s Shabbos. Doesn’t the fact that it’s Shabbos merit an acknowledgement? I mean, it’s Shabbos!

Best to concentrate on keeping your side of the street clean. Don’t worry about what other people are doing.

How old is the “girl”? 5? 11? 35 and not married?

I used to get upset when grown men would ignore my outgoing little boy when he’d say “Good Shabbos”. Saying loudly “say it again, he didn’t hear you” usually wakes the older one from his Torahdig stupor. And yes, we can tell the ones from Brooklyn.

Experience *should* be commensurate with price. Good, qualified therapists invest a lot of time and money into their training as therapists.

MorahRach – I’m sorry if I have ever hurt your feelings in this way. Sometimes I do correct spelling/grammar, and I have complained at times when people post as if they’re texting (with no paragraph breaks, etc). Mistakes detract from the message, sometimes to the point that I won’t bother trying to parse a post if it’s too difficult.

    P.S. I <3 the edit feature. LOL…

Mazel tov. Your baby is still a newborn and is totally dependent on you for his/her survival. That is more important to focus on than a few extra pounds. Give yourself a year. At least.

I feel weird calling someone back if they haven’t left a message, like I’m stalking them or something. “Hi, you called?” “ummmmm”

But as long as I’m paying the bill, I decide when/if I will return voice mails, or whether or not I even pick up the phone, for that matter.

Health: “I can tell you with my kids -the coldest Docs were the women.” – you can’t even acknowledge it was your wife the docs were cold to. It’s a pity you’re so biased against women.

I had an amazing female OB/GYN with my first birth. I had a patronizing, condescending male OB/GYN with my second. I agree with interjection – I don’t know why men go into this field.

IMO I would proceed with caution with the Sarno book. I just came across this quote in a review (I find particularly irresponsible the advice to stop any physical therapy and to tell yourself that pain is not dangerous):

“To help people recognize that their mind, rather than a physical abnormality is the source their pain Sarno’s treatment program involves lectures, group meeting and psychotherapy, if necessary. Patients are encouraged to discontinue all physical therapy, resume all physical activity, and review the 10 daily reminders: I have no structural abnormality only mild oxygen deprivation;-I have a harmless condition caused by repressed emotion (mostly anger);-TMS exists to distract me from emotions;-I have nothing to fear;-my physical aching is not dangerous;-I will not be concerned or intimidated by pain;-I will shift my attention from pain to emotional issues;-I intend to be in control-not my subconscious mind;-I must think psychological, not physical.”

FYI, TMJ = Temporomandibular Joint. Attaches lower jaw to skull. Everyone has one, but most people don’t notice until it hurts.

    Bruxism = grinding your teeth.

Def see a neurologist. You could have a bulging disk in your spine. Cut added sugar out of your diet for a few days. You could be deficient in magnesium and/or B2 (riboflavin), both of which can cause headaches. Flexall or Icy Hot help sometimes too.

Lots of water!! Sometimes mine get triggered by dehydration. Like 2 liters minimum in a day. Excedrin migraine. Oxycodone. Ice packs. Dark, quiet room for a couple days. Last resort, emergency room.

You need to see a dentist pronto to get fitted for a TMJ appliance. It’s a piece of molded plastic that you wear at night. If you need to you can wear it during the day too. You need to stabliize your jaw, though. Hatzlacha and refuah shleimah.

Maybe we could first establish if you hold by these presumptions?:

    1) Anyone reading/posting here is obligated to abide by every psak issued by any gadol hador.

    2) Anyone reading/posting here abides by any psak issued by any gadol hador unless they have a heter.

    3) Anyone reading/posting here is obligated to describe their heterim to you.
