I already have.
VogueMemberI don’t pay the bills this isn’t my decision
VogueMemberI hear bit unless you will be providing me with the epipen there is nothing you can do.
VogueMemberOK but nobody is going to win this.
VogueMemberI was at the allergist because I tried a bunch of new foods in seminary, and some of them may have caused hives, and when I got back and stopped eating certain foods I ate in seminary, my speech impediment (that just randomly cropped up in Israel), got 50% better. Also, since I got back, I noticed that I have had some interesting dairy issues with milk, and there is a significant difference between chalav stam and chalav Yisrael, so I wanted to look into it.
VogueMemberGet a Torah mate through oorah and do kiruv
VogueMemberPlus, my mom just spoke to my primary doctor and they said there is no reason for me to get an epi pen.
VogueMemberPersonally, depending on the teacher, I have had to call people for job references, and to ask about what to do about personal issues that come up, I don’t keep in touch with all of my teachers.
VogueMemberObviously the cost is keeping me from getting it so there is nothing to do about it. I am not dirt poor so I don’t qualify for free medications. I have health insurance that just doesn’t cover it. And it’s just not happening
VogueMemberIn Jerusalem you can go to geula, ben yehuda, aish, tachana hamerkazit
VogueMemberHow so, taking that another step means libraries are also assur
VogueMemberIt’s still expensive
VogueMemberWhere do you get an epi pen insurance does not cover it.
VogueMemberRight but my mom doesn’t believe I need an epi pen
VogueMemberYeah she tested for random things that I was not questioning my allergies about.
VogueMemberright, I would only need one if they test me positive for an allergy that they never tested me for, even though I requested it.
VogueMembernot all 19 year old girls get married though, or shidduch date. I am 19 and not shidduch dating, and probably won’t for a while even though I highly doubt I am going to college.
VogueMemberpossible food allergy.
VogueMember+1
VogueMemberBecause they want their students to get into college
VogueMemberIt runs on coffee bean
VogueMemberHahaha yeah
VogueMemberBut rivky persevered and in the end married a learningboy from the Mir whose patents supported them.
VogueMemberReally what source
VogueMemberconsidering the fact that I have spoken to boys most of my life, most of those things are obvious, and since I live in a place with four distinct seasons, the fashion stuff is obvious as well.

VogueMemberthats funny.
May 28, 2013 10:01 pm at 10:01 pm in reply to: Using chessed vouchers for shabbos shoesno. 2 #955975VogueMemberWhat is wrong with payless for shoes?
For me, I have flat feet and am required to wear custom made inserts in gym shoes, but have now gotten to the point where in the next six months I will need inserts in all flats and heels I wear, payless shoes do not offer my feet the right kind arch support, so I have to stick with brands like brooks, and new balance (I need to replace my nikes asap, I am not technically allowed to wear them), I can’t wear converse, and those are pretty cheap, no ballet flats, no used shoes, I am also a very big shoe size, and am of a very small minority, therefore, I can’t just get my shoes from a gemach. If I feel under the category of need, I would need a chessed voucher.

May 27, 2013 10:58 pm at 10:58 pm in reply to: I am not in high school anymore, Chessed is nice, BUT I need a parnassah! #955287VogueMemberAlso, none of the schools I have spoken to are willing to interview people who are not certified/ skype for an interview.
May 27, 2013 10:57 pm at 10:57 pm in reply to: I am not in high school anymore, Chessed is nice, BUT I need a parnassah! #955286VogueMembernothing school wise is currently in the cards, other than the quickbooks course I had to fight for.
VogueMemberFor sure buy linens there, the israeli beds are smaller, so it is not worth bringing your own linens. If possible, try to find a seminary girl/ yeshiva bochur, who can give you their linens from this year and then you can pass them on to people you know for next year, that is what I did with my linens. If your unable to track down linens, go to websites like yeshivalinens dot com
Cooking utensils, some seminary girls such as girls at Darchei Binah, michlalah, and MMY are required to cook two of their own meals daily, and therefore most likely have pots and pans you can buy off of them or they can give you.
Clothing, Israeli summers are EXTREMELY hot. You only need a light sweatshirt for the evenings, you really only need a few white shirts, but beware, dry cleaning can get expensive, so try to bring shirts that don’t need dry cleaning or ironing. Skirts, five black skirts should be fine, and one of a different color, one pleated, one slinky skirt, one a line skirt, one pencil skirt, one straight skirt, and whatever color one you want (that means six skirts). Shirts for women, make sure to bring shells, they are most important to bring large amounts of because israeli shells are not such great quality. Two black sleeveless, two white cotton three quarter, one white for shabbos, two black three quarter, one black for shabbos. Layering shirts, tanktops take the least amount of space…
Sefarim, bring a few in your carry on, I would say instead of all of mikraos gedolos for all of tanach, just bring an art scroll tanach, the smaller siddurim are easier to carry, but if you plan on buying a new siddur/ tehillim or want to engrave one, then you should bring the one you usually use and have it engraved. Most English sefarim are available there in geula. I am not a guy, but I feel like you really only need the masechta that will be studied at the summer point of the daf yomi cycle, otherwise its way to much to bring all of them.
Personal care products- Israeli products are specifically meant for their water, its a waste to bring american shampoos and conditioners, phinok is a great brand to buy. Deodorant is expensive there, so are menstrual supplies, but if you don’t have room for those things, you should buy them when you get there.
Also, shirt for kriah when you go to the Kosel.
I hope this helps.

MM, I have been trying to do that, but none of the schools in my semi-close area have room in their budgets or will hire someone who isn’t certified.

I have been looking in offices, none have come back with results. The tax forms were proof I am eligible to work in the united states.
