September 11, 2013 2:19 pm at 2:19 pm in reply to: How to respond to your eighteen-year-old teen who says this? #974343VogueMemberjust explain that whenever they want to do things such as kearn in E”Y, or go to college, the institution will expect a parent contribution towards tuition and if the child refuses to work with his parents and disrespects them that it makes them less inclined to assist financially and therefore schools will not be so inclined to accepting them in the future, and that financial independence is not so simple.
VogueMembertry eating milchig meal for second day lunch. try having a guest over for a meal on shabbos.
VogueMembertry yeshiva kesser Torah, its in Queens
VogueMemberI think we had similar conversations about this before, try consulting your rav. ncsy could help, even in the black hat arena, I know the national director really well, he lives in chicago, also try contacting oorah, they are based in lakewood and even if you are frum from birth, they are also very good at helping people with little background.
VogueMemberya know, the bearded guys.

VogueMembermy seminary year wasnt all it was cracked out to be, make sure you have a support system, and keep your mental health in check, it might make sense to see a therapist once a week until this gets straightened out. ti is very seminary like, you can also be much more independent.

August 21, 2013 6:09 am at 6:09 am in reply to: Best way to break in four-inch stilettos before Yom Tov? #971900VogueMemberI think I will take a trip into the city to do some shopping and alternate between heels and gymshoes and then on yhursday, wear my heels to work.
VogueMemberAt this point, I am not even sure if I will be able to take this trip, I only have European connections in France to stay… I used to have an Italian connection, but I lost touch with her.
August 21, 2013 2:06 am at 2:06 am in reply to: Best way to break in four-inch stilettos before Yom Tov? #971899VogueMemberplus, since it was a maneuver for shalom bayis, it was fine, my balance is fine in them, especially considering the fact I haven’t worn heels in a year. typically, I prefer to get three inch pumps, but I couldn’t find good ones and I am tired of wearing gym shoes on Shabbos.
August 21, 2013 1:56 am at 1:56 am in reply to: Best way to break in four-inch stilettos before Yom Tov? #971898VogueMembermy mechanchos from my high school told me to go for it, they are grey and not suggestive at all, the reason I got them is because I needed shoes for yom tov and since I have feet problems, and my orthopedic inserts cant fit in flats, I knew I would not have to worry about them if I got heels. I am open to meeting a guy who likes a girl in heels.
August 19, 2013 6:20 am at 6:20 am in reply to: Place to get affordable, tzniusdik clothes for young girl #1055970VogueMemberbasic colors has good prices and is the stuff everyone wears, as someone from out of town on a tight budget, if I am in brooklyn, that is the first place I go to. then you can go to any non jewish store for layering pieces, like kohls.

VogueMemberfor sure, I am trying to avoid hotels as much as possible on this trip.
VogueMemberI hear
VogueMemberright, I understand that in some places, I might need to book a hotel, my friend has relatives in france, possibly in england as well. ideally, this would be a two and a half week trip.
VogueMemberdrinking a sip of water
VogueMemberalso, just to add to my comment earlier, I cant afford to support someone who is learning long term.
VogueMemberon one hand learning is very important, and I highly value learning Torah, on the other hand I want to be able to afford to raise children without being on welfare for twenty years or more. I personally want to go into chinuch but its not realistic for everyone to do that because people who want to have lots of kids need money to take care of them and at least pay for in addition to all basic expenses, day school tuition and other extras that are healthy for children to have such as extra curricular activities. if you really want to be more insular, you can get a degree and work in a frum office.
VogueMemberI would date your type. I want to date your type. you could always rent an apartment in nyc and go to landers.
VogueMembertry forever 21 do something different maxi dress, blazer, shell, flats. h and m is good as well. add gold bangles or wooden bangles and a chunky necklace.
