I personally tend to get my juicy couture and other designer items from either a good will store, or a gemach. Maybe that is how some people get their designer items. If I could, I would get north face stuff from a gemach as well.

WAT?!?!?!?!?!?!? If you view it as a chas ve’shalom, then its hypocritical to have a website, send a catalogue out instead!

zalmam? we should be enthusiastic about doing mitzvos! In fact, there was once a rabbi who would run around his bedroom for an hour in order to “wake up like a lion”. I think you could use som training on enthusiasm!

They were just ideas of activities that can allow for a deeper connection in an informal atmosphere. You can also go to an arcade and play two player games (not dance dance revolution, obviously).

That is so inappropriate. Why are we all so against modern orthodoxy. I mean, if we stopped focusing so much on it, this website would not be making such a chillul Hashem to people who do not understand the dynamics of the frum community. If you want to make them like you, then you need to take positive interest in them… Come on, we can do better than this!

Yeah, and I had to convince my mom I was just experimenting with the Chalav Yisrael milk so that she would buy it, and I said my experiment worked, so now I will have to buy either chalav Yisrael milk, or no milk for the rest of eternity, although, I can still eat Ben and Jerry’s or any other kosher chalav stan ice cream and I will be fine.

I don’t think its exactly 100% pigs milk, otherwise the OU, CRC, or any other hechsher that supervises Chalav Stam products, would be under fire and the supervisors would be put in to cherem (I mean, why would they allow pigs milk into Jewish homes by giving, say, an OU-D).

Halachic implications to only drinking Chalav Yisrael milk, but eating chalav stam everything else.

Check out the ohr somayach website. They have a ton of different programs. Many baalei teshuva have knowledge.

Get the jumpstart computer software. It is endorsed by Torah U’Mesorah. I know from personal experience as one of their original guinea pigs that my life was changed in many ways because I used it.

Chareidi institutions don’t usually have websites unless they are kiruv type schools. Try ohr somayach. Its more kiruvy, but definitely chareidi. It will be less stressful of a jump/ transition into the chareidi world from public school. Regardless of the hashkafa of the family you grew up in, there are a lot of things that frum jews who lead somewhat sheltered lives do differently than you would be used to in a public school. Trust me, I know.

If you can’t understand this sentence, then seek a more kiruv style yeshiva.

Frum yidden should aspire to daven to the aibishter with so much kavana that they feel that their neshama was uplifted during their davening and they would not notice anything else going on around them, chas ve’shalom.

Just so you know, this sentence was written in more yeshivish type of language, which is a mixture of yiddish and english. The non-kiruvy style yeshivas require you to have a stronger command if the yiddish language in order to blend in more socially. Also, there are people who are not baalei teshuvas who learn at ohr somayach as well because they have never learned gemara before.

    Hatzlacha!

I am a very bored bais yaakov girl. I spend the majority of my time alone and am craving social interaction. On the other hand, when I am not bored, I end up dealing with way to much drama for my age.

My mom owns the property… Also, I have to do a significant amount of the yard work. Additionally, I do not want to sit there patrolling my property. Also, her school told me to call the police if it happens again.

Living in Monsey, tresspassing is a very big deal. Besides the obvious loss of privacy (which many people paid big bucks for) there is also the aspect of legality. If c”v someone trips on something and falls on your property they can sue, and in this day and age they will sue and they’ll win and then your insurance rates will go out of this world. Call the police and let them do their job.

Its the same law everywhere in the United States.

Actually, yes, there are dangerous conditions, we have a dead willow tree that is going to one day, either fall on our garage, or on the electric line. Part of the tree was already struck by lightning.

The school social worker told the administration about this. She said that if I could find out her name, that would be beneficial and they would speak to her about the incident.

Camp counselor definitely counts, and is something you should add to your resume! See, you have job experience.

Also, I do think it is preferred to have someone help you. Before I wrote my first resume, I attended a resume writing workshop sponsored by Yeshiva University, and then after applying to several jobs, and not getting as many interviews as I would like and not getting a job offer soon enough, I went to a Jewish social services organization that is in the process of editing my resume to make it stronger and they helped me find a direction of what types of jobs I should be looking into, and if I feel that I need to practice my interviewing skills, I can arrange for a mock interview. I am sure many communities have these types of organizations.

Does this have to do with people starting topics as one post with several quotations, because I personally find those annoying and do not even read that starting post on that topic, even if I end up reading the rest of the posts for that topic.

If it was signed with her paw that had some sort of stamp thing on it, then the will is hallachically accepted by my standards, and by a typical bais din’s standards.

If you live in New York or New Jersey, you should look through the hamodia classified section, luach (but don’t post an ad asking for a job for safety reasons), and the Jewish Press, look for phrases such as “No Experience Necessary” and “Willing to Train” in order to make sure you are applying to jobs you can do. The OU job board is a good place to look as well. Craigs list might have some stuff. Also, there is a freelancing website called elance dot com, if you sign up, you can bid for many different types of jobs (I recommend their admin category, but beware of spam jobs, also bid low on that website because you will be competing against people from third world countries for jobs).
