February 6, 2015 1:08 am at 1:08 am in reply to: How to Deal with a Request for a Shidduch Picture #1136539Little FroggieParticipant
DY:
I’m TOTALLY with you on this one. (maybe others too, I don’t live HERE the way I used to..)
People, when starting out on shidduchim always quote the gemarrah “whoever marries for money etc…”, and then they quickly forget there is a Ribbono Shel Olam, and turn the process into a street market bargaining affair. How one side could get the most money… How much each (precious) bachur is “worth”. Get that! We’re not dealing with people, personalities, it’s all a financial assessment. What the Gemarah says about a ben chorin – ayn lo damim – suddenly applies no more!!! This (again, Tiereh) bocher is worth $1,000,000, to apply submit a photo of the other (nebach) object… will assess the financial portfolio…
I have but one word for it – FEH!!
Little FroggieParticipantKapusta, I’m just responding that there’s no reason, al pi din Torah, to shovel snow. It’s not a hezek caused by the landowner, and he doesn’t own the property. No “chiyuv” as stated above. Shoveling one’s own “legal” property (that he really doesn’t own) has no basis in Halachah, nor is it “being a mentch”.
Nothing at all to do with being a mentch. Being a mentch would mean to shovel your neighbor’s property too. Shovel the street, so cars would have an easier time.
And btw most people remember the part of “being a mentch is part of the rulebook of being frum. They tend to forget that being frum is also part of the rulebook.
I suggest you read my post above more thoroughly. I did not in the least imply one not to do it. Read again.
Little FroggieParticipantSidi, it was you?!?
Little FroggieParticipantOomis: I remember this one here (I may recall you commented the same). But let us suppose the girl showed up with a ring in her nose. Just pull it off??? Such a minor thing???
If someone dresses like an oddball, outcast, out of the norm, there’s a pretty good reason for it. And ever watchful, protective mother was doing her natural instinct.
Little FroggieParticipantto the OP: Silly!!! He sleeps in his shoes (probably bathes in them too)
Little FroggieParticipantMaybe I should…
Little FroggieParticipantTime to have the yearly fun… OK, here goes
“MECHUYIV”?!? It’s a nice gesture, maybe one is instructed to by NYC codes, but MECHUYIV? Highly doubt it. Every one is MECHUYIV to watch how he/ she is walking. If it’s slippery and one will or is likely to take a slip, then it’s OSSUR, forbidden, to step outside. ????? ????? ???????. However, the landlord did not put the snow or ice there, and does not own the sidewalk, so it’s not his “bor” and he’s not MECHUYIV for any damages incurred by someone else’s negligence to watch his / her step.
Again, I’m not a landlord, and I do, as a kind gesture, shovel the snow around (for exercise!), but Torah law does not compel one to shovel. NYC law does, and I would suppose one may imply the ???? ??????? on this (open to debate).

Mods, can’t you find something more…something like me… something that gives the oylom here a ‘picture’ of me. Something like a bit lively… y’know what I mean?

It started snowing again. We’re opening this Live Blog once again for the sake of anyone who need to know how the “non-essential” people (vehicles too) stay safe.

Anyone??
Little FroggieParticipantOomis: As I’ve written, and been shown and proven, we were not CAUGHT short. It was a deliberate inaction of our sanitation department. Snow plows were ALWAYS able to get around despite having ‘non emergency’ vehicles on the road. It was an EXCUSE attempted by our mayor to try and deflect this huge fiasco off his shoulders. And btw, there were no attempts to plow (no going around and around every 1.5 minutes like they do now – AT THE ONSET) until four days later. Numerous pictures of these characters acting up, eating out in a Mc Donalds, plowing with plows up.
You don’t have to close down a city for snow, not in our modern day and age, where every one’s doing their job. When snow plows go over an area even once an hour, any vehicle will be able to pass.
(I know, I used to run the city)
January 28, 2015 6:40 pm at 6:40 pm in reply to: Live Blog.. Little Froggie Prepares for The Blizzard #1055713Little FroggieParticipantcrazybrit: !!!!
.. And now that things have generally settled down, we are ending this live blog, and returning to our regular business. (business – sure!)
We unbanned the bans (that’s trains in Yiddish), opened the roadways… allowed people to resume life..
And in case you don’t realize, while you were all sleeping, we cleared away two and a half feet of snow from the whole area. That’s why when you all whole up you found barely six inches! Boy does my truck ache, it’s a 15 Charley horse power engine.
January 27, 2015 9:25 pm at 9:25 pm in reply to: Live Blog.. Little Froggie Prepares for The Blizzard #1055709Little FroggieParticipant..and a picture of Little Froggie peeking up from well fortified, reinforced snow bunker.. seeing if it’s safe to crawl out..
(I guess no one ‘chapped’ the ban on the tracks thing above)
My guess is that the Governor and Mayor were just preparing for the eventually of a lone Froggie stuck outside in four inches of snow. So the sent out a executive curfew including everyone (except half of YiddishKite i.e. BP – they’re ’emergency vehicles’).
Little FroggieParticipantHow’s the whether
January 27, 2015 4:40 pm at 4:40 pm in reply to: Live Blog.. Little Froggie Prepares for The Blizzard #1055707Little FroggieParticipantoomis..and how!!!
And the blog continues…
Pictures of Little Froggie putting on snow chains on the huskies.. Mixing 3/4 antifreeze into their dog food.. De-icing the pigeons..
Getting reading for the biggest storm to hit Broadway..
Little FroggieParticipantThey did NOT under-expect it last time, as they would have you believe. It was a deliberate, purposeful, shameful strike / slowdown by the sanitation dept. Too many pictures, testimonies abound. I myself saw these clowns, when finally forced to go out a make an appearance, drive TWO trucks together, with their PLOWS UP!! Back and forth!!
Generally at the onset of a storm, there will be plowers and salters going around and around to dissipate huge pile-ups of snow (like they’re doing now). That time, as I noticed, from the very onset (Sun. noon) till Wed. there was not a truck to be found!! Besides the ones, of course, parked by a Mc Donalds (YouTube)..
So yes, it may be important to keep roads clear etc.., that’s not AT ALL the reason or cause for the shameful fiasco of the mayor’s and sanitation department’s handling (inaction) of that infamous blizzard.
Little FroggieParticipantSiDi: I’m not at all the posek, Rav, or any other other of the like, I’d just like to comment that in my humblekite I think it would still be preferable to run home and get your hat & jacket because off ???. A special act of preparing oneself for the audience and meeting of the Big Boss in Heaven.
-my humble thoughts, feel free to correct me.
Little FroggieParticipantI forgot the pesukim you have to say while going around..
Little FroggieParticipantLittle FroggieParticipantYou’re so lucky, you’re here. About me they say I’m not all there…
Little FroggieParticipantSeeing that no Torah scholarician has stepped up to the plate, ????? ???? ??? and etc., I feel duty bound to fill their role, in my great humility, my sheer greatness notwithstanding.
After having analyzed this most important shaalah from all angles, dissected it, and went over it with heaviness of head, it appears to us (fancy word for ‘me’) that indeed, there is nothing wrong. People who grace our site, including lurkers (stalkers!), readers, posters, contributors, Josephs and Jothars, honorable moderators and most honorable Editor, all know how to take anything written in this section (including this post!). So we all come here ????? ???? or translated into common language: knowingly of such. We all know that every line or so can be completely disconnected from the previous one, no sentences have to match, no organized thought or thought process has to be conveyed, transmitted… So naturally the title and content don’t have to match.
So it appears, before us (again that fancy expression), 5 Shevat, fourth year of our residence, here at the most exalted Coffee Castle in the Yeshiva World..

Very well. People (as opposed to froggies) do catch on.
My cute little thread is in response to the other hottie of the day, where one is told to go ask a Rov if it’s NOT PERMITTED, as it’s presumed to be permitted otherwise . And it’s not of the more important issues of the day as sinas chinam, chilul Hashem with public misdeeded, etc.
All of a sudden when it comes to bein adam lachavero the tables are turned. No. It’s presumed assur till told otherwise..
One should be careful with bein adam lamakom no less. We all heard all 613 from a direct source.
And no. I would not go and touch or hurt anyone. Anyone who knows me IRL knows that. Right?

Little FroggieParticipantYeah, I know. We had a poster here like that some time ago, her keyboard was infected with the “!!!!!!!!!” virus.
What you need to do is open your keyboard, pull off all the keys, take apart all the inside kishkes, and press the red <<RESET>> button. Take care not to press on any keys while doing that, it could send the keyboard into troll mode. Oh, I forgot, if you pull off the keys, then they’re not attached anymore…
Put back all the unidentifiable kishkes into place, put back keys (no difference as to location, keyboard should sense where each key has been relocated), and your hashtag virus will be a thing (nuisance!) of the past.
On more tip, if the keyboard does not open, put it into an oven for fifteen minutes (or more) at 450.

I mean let me know how things went.
Little FroggieParticipantTotally disagree. There’s no controversy.

January 20, 2015 6:14 pm at 6:14 pm in reply to: Am I Allowed to Knock Out My Neighbor's Teeth? #1054663Little FroggieParticipantI knew it’s not so clear-cut issur. One must always ask a Rav before prohibiting something…
Oh, also I think there should be a Gemarah somewhere that says one IS permitted to do so…
Little FroggieParticipantRemind us to browse the coffee room for this page when Davening
Little FroggieParticipantDo you know the language of froggies?
Little FroggieParticipantNobody attacked anyone for asking a shaalo. It wasn’t that poster who started this thread, who truly wanted to know. Some attacked another who made light of an issue, a most serious sin. There’s a difference between one who wants to know (sources, inyanim etc.), and one who comes to diminish the seriousness of any aveira.
Little FroggieParticipantFlatbusher,
If I may, I think you’re dead wrong. To go and lessen, mitigate, depreciate the seriousness of a sin to anyone is a major chilul HaShem. Plus the added benefit of lifnei eiver, too. No, I think it’s something you don’t wanna do. If someone has heteirim from his rav, his own circumstances, that’s his own private business. NOTHING TO TRUMPET ABOUT. Openly transgressing on something whole klal yisroel holds firm about, is nothing less than chilul HaShem b’farhesia. ????? ?????? ??, we’re looking to become more holy, not the reverse.

Little FroggieParticipantI JUST KNEW IT!!!!
With one blow, everything fall down…
(oops, this one seems to have come up)
Little FroggieParticipantROB,
We’ve been here before. No one is denying YOU the option to go look, gaze, stare at any picture you want. It is someone else’s publication, one who wants to keep clean from any questionable, ???, ????? of sin. There’s no room in your heart to allow SOMEONE ELSE to stay holy, to do ??? ???? ????? ???
Being broadminded means to look at it from another’s point of view. To cause someone to have even a cursory, unwanted glance at something one mustn’t, to put a dent in another’s Neshamah, is not something these publications want to risk. That’s all!!
(btw, I think that’s the policy of the site your on NOW!!!)
Little FroggieParticipantever see a blue froggie?
Little FroggieParticipantSiDi: Thanks, but I currently don’t run the [sticky] controls (at least openly, what I do after hours is a secret).
Problem with the parsha, I read that I could have had company, namely crocodiles…
