Little FroggieParticipant
Maybe that’s why they jump when they say ????? ???? ????? ??, just in case he’s actually on the moon.
Little FroggieParticipantWOW!! How do you remember???
Little FroggieParticipantBelong to a Kehilla where one helps out another.
(maybe us here could chip in)
Little FroggieParticipantNo one dares pace near me. They only get to try that once. Generally one hard stare is enough to reduce them to tears, flee in panic.
Little FroggieParticipantCR – definition: a place where one convinces him/herself of convincing others.
But anyways I try again. Yes it’s quite permitted to get one. To use a (excuse me) toilet. To use modern day sanitary device. In fact to use any modern day device to better one’s health, sanitary standards. It’s permitted, advisable and recommended. But to say that one who does NOT own a detector is putting himself in a sakana – that’s perhaps maybe going a bit too much, no? How did it all of a sudden become a matzav of sakana? ?? ???? ??? ??? ????? ???? ???? one must erect a fence at the edge of his roof to protect oneself from falling. That is a ???? ????. Torah did not decide that a house in itself be a ???? ???? (and those time fires were much more dangerous, more common, as they used it for light, heating and cooking).
Incidentally, does anyone here know R. Moshe’s shitta regarding a checkup?
Again – As I wrote, one should do regular Hishtadlus, but be very wary of this “never again” attitude. Ever hear of the time seat belts actually CAUSED someone’s demise? ??????? ???? ???? ?? ??? ?????. Every creature of HaShem’s creations bends to do His bidding. There’s no outsmarting Him. No outdoing Him with all our modern, updated, upgraded gadgets notwithstanding. “The King’s Will Shall Be Done”. We’re commanded to protect our-self in the normal fashion, make regular ???????, and then humbly place one’s trust in HaShem.
Little FroggieParticipantOH! WOW!!!
First of all doesn’t anyone clean for Pesach?!? (I’m taking an unauthorized break, if they find out we’ll have mashed froggies)
Second of all the expressions used!!! OH WOW! Haven’t seen them in a while.
For the issue at hand, kindly, no one fly off the handle.
There is no issur found anywhere in Torah, Mishna, Gemarah, Rambam, Rishonim, Achronim, Roshei Yeshivos, Talmedei Yeshivos etc. about living in a house without a detector. In fact detectors were not around a couple of years ago. Oh.
The danger of fire was SO MUCH more prevalent in times of old, entire cities could have been burnt down on one swoop ?”?. In fact the Torah itself writes about a fire emanating ?? ??? ??..
Still we find no issur of building a house or worse – living in one. Oh. The Torah faults the one who started the fire, NOT THE ONE WHO HAD NO DETECTOR. Oh again.
We are bidden to be ???? ??????. How far that ??????? goes.. that’s open for discussion.
Making sure HaShem won’t be able to strike at us “never again”… no, that’s not a smart thing.
Little FroggieParticipantIs that a person, place or thing?
Little FroggieParticipantNo, just open a Chumash.
Little FroggieParticipant???? ????? ?? ?? ??? ??? ???? ??? ???
(I think I once wrote about it, if anyone finds it they win a ..)
HaShem created a most beautiful world. And He testified ???? ??? ????, and behold it is exceedingly good. Sometimes you have to look for it, sometimes it’s not readily discernible, it’s there. Here. Everywhere.
Sometimes it’s the people who corrupted, ??? ?????? ?? ???? ??? ???? ???? ?????? ????, but it’s their problem. You must remember that. Don’t be affected by those and don’t be troubled by them, however large that population may be. It’s their problem. They’re selfish, self-centered, cruel? It’s their problem.
Did any mess with you? Do all you can to better your situation, but at the end of the day, the True Judge will take care of things. ??? ??? ???? ????.
No not at all a crazy world. A world of GREAT OPPORTUNITY. It doesn’t take much to rise above them and show your true shining, bright colors!!
Little FroggieParticipantWOO HOO
How’d you find this one!?!
Little FroggieParticipantOK, So ????? ???? ???…
Let me try to add my own two cents…
If one would indeed leave a mazik, as noted above, big flame, flamables etc. that would constitiue one’s own doing. Same with the case Sam2 brought, breaking the law.
However, I don’t think leaving on a hot plate constitutes one’s own doing. The natural process is for no fire to occur. The lack of smoke detectors, in my opinion, DOES NOT make it a circumstance or place of sakana. It’s not a fire alarm or lack of it that causes fire, it’s the source that causes it.
Furthermore, as I’ve heard, if someone makes a ‘chshbon hanefesh’ from that to protect himself, buy 25 smoke detectors, CO detectors (2.5 @ room) etc. with a “it’s not gonna happen by me” atitude, he DAVKA runs into the danger of being ?”? proven wrong by HaShem. We are supposed to do our Hishtadlus on the natural level, ??? ???? ???? ?????. Hashem decides the outcome.
Little FroggieParticipantI “hear” you.
But, otoh, aside from the issue of LH, there’s the ????? ????? resulting.. (oh yes, I’ve been the recipient of that quite some times). The other party will certainly feel some displeasure, discomfort at reading your words.
Little FroggieParticipantLG, not entirely “filled” with those attributes.
Have you thought about me?
Little FroggieParticipantComlink-X
I think the Cafetz Chaim was a Posek.
He says one should not denigrate the writings of another.. actually (as he writes) it’s from the Gemarah directly – ??? ?? ?????…
Little FroggieParticipantWOW!!!
I’ve been relying on the information gleaned from here for all aspects of life… medical, immunization, mpb, hashkafa, shidduch, shidduch crisis, kolel life, zionism…
(now I have to undo everything?)
Little FroggieParticipant.. and they also owe me and my (in)famous clone a bracha
Little FroggieParticipantThe chiluk could so easily be drawn upon the chiyuv to erect a maaka. Anyting that qualifies as a mazik (or bari hezaika) must be taken care of.
Little FroggieParticipantIt could not have been ZK. And besides for all he’s worth, he was NOT annoying, I think. Never. In all the many, many posts.
He laid on a slight blithering, immature-ish face and tone, at times way too overheated in a discussion, but would never stam be annoying. Or purposefully mean.
Little FroggieParticipantI don’t think R. Elchonon was too happy about it!
“If the Medina had been around before the Holocaust..”
We all know what would have happened. Those truly fit for farming, political leaders… etc. Oh yeah, and the one cow for Palestine…
Little FroggieParticipantNope. I still post from only one user name (at a time).
Little FroggieParticipant(and let me add)
..and something else snapped!
Little FroggieParticipantUse it for the ten pieces. C’mon, give your husband a break, it’ll be much easier searching for ten challos than ten microscopic pieces.
Little FroggieParticipantwhoops… forgot – a joke, that is…
Little FroggieParticipantMaybe he was an overworked Mod, gone berserk!!
Little FroggieParticipantOK, I’m back.. 3/8, yikes!!!
(at the rate of four days to a room…)
Little FroggieParticipantLF here. The question should be if you’re here.
(and did it ever enter your mind (what’s that?) that many are busy cleaning for Pesach?)

Ok, the name?!? Noooo. That’s called prying (snooping, stalking etc). You’d easily identify me… (or maybe you know me… breaking out in clod sweat)
The backup name? Why, any other name, no one in specific.
Little FroggieParticipantGreat Idea..
Why don’t you change your attire to that of the norms of the community you’re in. Something to the effect of ????? ?? ???? ???.. ???? ???????.
How simple!!!
Little FroggieParticipantIt takes you a month to get rid of your mishloach manos? Oy.. maybe if you have the ‘American family’ – 1.7 children, one whole cat, one whole dog.
By us.. it’s gone basically within three days… Oh, yes, then there’s the dentist..
Little FroggieParticipantNot really sure your’re waiting for my most treasured ‘pieces’…
Little FroggieParticipantWhat if you’re inviting your parents-in-law to your home. Are you expected to chip in…
March 25, 2015 3:43 pm at 3:43 pm in reply to: Naming A Child After Someone With Weird Name #1121202Little FroggieParticipantWhen I was to give a name for my cutie, B”H, I had a specific one in mind, not at all common. So I did a quick research, and found that most who have that name, have had a second one, too. Sort of as a backup. Then, inquiring further, I noticed that anyone who was given that name, was actually called by that (unique) name, and not the other other ‘backup’ one. So I had no quandary naming her just that one.
And she’s happy with it.. (oh, she’s ka’h almost six months old)
Little FroggieParticipantAnd for the world at large:
SEE
I didn’t start it this year. Left it for someone else. But now I can…
Little FroggieParticipantInteresting…
147 said (ok, wrote) that he was zoche to actually see the holy Chafetz Chaim…
Just wondering what his closest Talmid had to say about the medina… (don’t recall anything the Chafetz Chaim said about it, though)
March 24, 2015 8:14 pm at 8:14 pm in reply to: How is Tzipora Bas Gila and Gila Bas Tzipora doing? #1069983Little FroggieParticipantYou’re probably not the only one.
I feel SOOOO sorry for them. Those that made it. Imagine having to continue going through life with such a GAPING HOLE right in the middle. Unfathomable. I’m sure they’re gonna have to be on drugs / painkillers for quite some time.
Imagine any one of them sitting down to a meal, weekday, Shabbos, Yom Tov with such a roaring, deafening silence. Imagine the Shul scene, where they used to Daven together. Imagine, just imagine the scene of any new place they might call home next.
CAN’T!
Just crying along (: x 7
Little FroggieParticipantSiDi:
Is a trademark a good thing?
Little FroggieParticipantOK, so where will O.G. be going to next zman?!?
Little FroggieParticipantc.a.:
I think Taanis (25) is in Moed.
Little FroggieParticipant(can’t believe I started that one!)
Little FroggieParticipantBy being unique.
Little FroggieParticipant!!!
From the fact that you ‘chapped’, you probably do have!! You’re extremely sharp & bright!!
Little FroggieParticipantI’ve heard of it too. Can’t recall who. Maybe it was the ‘Rabbonim’ of that era, who cursed that soil upon which our blood was soaked upon, that it should henceforth not benefit from the presence a Yid brings.
