Coffee Addict, Unfortunately I’m not Eclipse. Neither is my other, older S/N. She was more mature, smarter, and had a sense of purpose. Take a look – she’s gone!

That is the question of the day, they claim it was paid, she claims it wasn’t who do you return the Kesuba to? Because if you return it to her, she’ll use it to get her money (perhaps a second time). The heirs (or the husband the case of Gerusha) have no use for it other than to prevent the woman from getting hold of it.

    “..was knighted”

    Like that!!!

ps wonder how you requested that job. Isn’t it one of the 10 commandments of the CR – not to request to be a Mod. We had to memorize them every morning at login, standing up, loud voice.. ” You shall not… you must…”

In the case where he passed away (נתארמלה), it’s referring to the heirs who are paying the Kesuba (יורשי הבעל).

And HaLeiVi (wonder who that is), memories…

Would you believe some women retained their inner sense of modesty and are uncomfortable having their name posted on letters, invitations etc. No it’s not assur, it’s a feeling.

I have a close friend whose wife is a public speaker, he says he and wife cringe when they see her name posted and plastered all over… It’s a matter of feeling…

R E. Exactly. That is why Tosefus asks on Rashi. And The Ramban answers. And the Pnei Yehushua answers for Tosefus.

Because here all cases are not vaday, still we’re concerned for choshid amamona choshid ashvua

And about politics, since it’s Jewish it may run into Lashon Hara. And since there are no more sub-titles anymore (WAH!) I can’t tell it to Syag to see if it’s Lashon Hara!

Abbayai over there answers that those three cases, the reason why he’s not choshid is because we’re chayish for sofek malve yeshana. And, if not for that, we’d say choshid amomoina choshid ashvuasa.

Your kasha was Tosefus. My asnser is Ramban.

P’nei Yehoshua defends Tosefus: if we’re always chayish for sofek malve yeshana, then the bottom line is he can never be choshid ashvuasa.

It’s what we were chosen for. שם שמים שגור בפיו, even if at first it’s just for the show, y’know, to lay it on… will be מעורר את הפנימיות.

Yeah… I miss my good friends (& enemies!!!) from back then… Hey.. where are you all?!?

Loved to read the quips and posts from a few .. P B A foremost on my mind. Then there was Eclipse who “had the place”.

This place went thru so many eras (or cycles). So many different “contributors”. So many different TYPES of “contributors”.

At the time I first met this place, it was in middle of <Wash/Spin Cycle>. Agitators fully engaged! Oh how this place roiled!!! Who cares what they were arguing about… I just heard the noise with the door safely in lock position. How I watched it bounce up down and sideways.

Then the unfortunate day… I learned how to post and add topics.. יוסיף דעת יוסיף מכאוב.

Whew, this is a real complicated one.

There are so many point and angles to consider. From a Halachah stand point I think it would be ok. But then there’s a hashkafa’dig view. WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO PREPARE FOR ANOTHER DAY? Where’s your Emunah?!? Looking at it from an emotional viewpoint, won’t it be depressing knowing that you’re already started the next workweek? From a financial viewpoint, how do you bill those minutes spent sharpening your pencils now for next week – it could really get complicated.

CA, Yeah, most people by now realize that.

Oh the fun (or “””Fun”””) we had back then…

p.s. And to let the bag out of the cat… that name was brainstormed when I was in a rush to invent a screen name.. and someone just happened to call me that… that’s the open and close of it. There is no real requirement that one actually match the screen name. So that’s why and how this big, fat, ugly, vile, sour, obnoxious, annoying, bothersome personality became the infamous ZeesKite!

As much as they come prepared, there’s always the Mesorah and attitude that cannot be “taught” in school. And that, exactly that is what the night of Seder is made for. Give it over “as if you went out of Egypt”. It’s the manner, the excitement, the attitude that’s always going to stay with the child, years after all the peshatim are forgotten.

Take the opportunity, grab as much as you can on this special night. One can relate to a child of any level … the four sons.

And if I may add – the fifth one too, the one who does not come to the Seder at all. To him we say the Ha Lachma.. come and join.. no questions asked. Just come and join our party.. great food, you’ll enjoy it. And we don’t try to shove anything else at him…

Interestingly, their battle cry used to be “Global Warming”. When faced with an many an occasional “global cooling” (like today), they changed their anthem.. now it’s climate change. Like years ago the climate didn’t change. Hogwash to the fifth power!! Cute little Greta and co. notwithstanding, YiddishKite (that’s Boro Park, to the uninitiated) is not being blown away, nor being swamped. Planet Earth (that’s Brooklyn) is still open for business, it’s not gasping for air under the Hudson.

Sure – הרוצה לשקר ירחיק עדותו, one who wants to spread falsehoods should distance his “proofs”. So it’s the north pole that’s caving in… or some obscure puddle in a distant tribal village that’s drying up… And we got ONLY ten years to fix it.
