supergirl: the schools is Israel do not check the students, that’s why it’s much more common.

I heard synthetic vinegar (in Israel that’s the clear one as opposed to the yellow one) keeps the lice away. Also, combing through the hair with a lice comb and conditioner 2x a week will ensure that even if your child catches one or two it will be out before it can spread and reproduce.

Good Luck! (One of the lesser pleasant things abt living in Israel, nothing to do about it.)

I have a citi mini and love it! Really reccomend it, if you’re looking for a good durable practiacal carriage that is. If you’re looking for “posh” than you may get a sleeker look, a little smoother ride… but you won’t find such a light-weight, east-to-fold, big basket, and it’s not very klutzy. Als o depends where and what you need it for.

I wonder how acurate that is. Chazal say one may daven for the gender of the vlad until 40 days after conception, we count from 2 weeks before conception, so you are talking about 4-5 weeks which is about 28-35 days, when the gender isn’t determined yet, so how can we test then?

Sorry, i didn’t realize this was a gown for your wedding!!! Firstly Mazel Tov, I didn’t read anywhere here that you’re engaged (Though seen plenty oon dating from you!) If you’re the Kallah, definitely DONT wear a shell!!! I thought for a sister or friend.

You may be saving money, but you’re also taking a risk that it won’t work out, that would be a waste of money too. Whatever you choose to go with good luck! and mazel tov again, enjoy!

I’ve seen gowns like that and they never look/lie right. I would reccomend just adding straps (looks much less added) and wearing a shell underneath.

You tip, even though you don’t want to.

The same reason why, when someone steps on your toe with a really high and pointy heel, and really hurts you badly, but when they ask ‘are you okay’ you force a smile and say ‘yeah sure’ instead of what you really want to say: “NO!! you just killed me, get those ridiculous things off your feet, or mind your step and how much do you weigh anyway…”

It’s true, all the apartments I’ve been in (i’d say at least 50) have windows on the doors, old and new alike. They say it’s so that you don’t have to keep extra lights on, there is adequate light from the hallway (especially for a whole shabbos)

You will save a life. If not a lost child’s, then that lost 36 year old soul, whom noone took a little time of their day to say hello to.”

Actually I’ve heard of people being mekarev him and inviting him for shabbos meals… why do you think no one tried to be nice to him? I’ve heard from more than one that people did try to reach out to him (and are freaking out right now with the latest turn of events!)

Ms. Critique: Actually Reb. Kaplan asked in her will that no one name after her, she didn’t want anyone to suffer from their name. Every time I hear of a Vichna, I can’t understand it.

(Even if she wouldn’t have written this, never give a child a name you yourself wouldn’t want to be called.)

There is a great hotel in the Jewish part of Amsterdam, 4/5 star, but it’s much cheaper because the Jewish part isn’t in the city center so it’s not as sought after. It’s called NH Musica, very nice staff, modern hotel. We loved it there. Across the street is a kosher pizza shop, (restaurant a little further) right behind is a grocery. Shul not far either. I really recommend it!

I didn’t just get threats, my elementary school teacher was called for information, (she was a friend of the family’s) and she bad-mouthed me.. but like someone said if it’s bashert, nothing can stop a shidduch, the things my in-laws heard, and then still continued on with the shidduch! To be fair, there was a drop of truth in what she said, which she exagerated 10x over, but people CAN change in a decade!!!! (I’ll never forget her face when she met me married, she looked like she wanted to bury herself!!)

Oh my, I just stumbled on this thread, I’m having major stress recently, resulting in crazy migraines… and just yesterday I started getting crazy toothaches! I thought it was a cavity or maybe as veteran thought “b’shaa tova”, but now I see it may be related to stress.

I never knew toothaches can come from stress. I think I grind at night from stress because when I’m stressed my tongue gets “withered” which my dentist says is a result from grinding, but actual toothaches I never knew (maybe I should cancel the cleaning appt I just scheduled and take a vacation with that money instead!!)

We had a short engagement (9 wks!) which I recommend to EVERYONE! Once you decide to get married, that you’re ready- why wait?

My husband was overseas most of our engagement, which now looking back was great! We spoke, wrote, texted all the time, but we only saw eachother a bit right after engagement and again a few times when he came back before the wedding. Being together alot only makes it harder. I’ve seen it by my friends, they were seeing eachother all the time and #1 getting very desperate (leading to saying things that should not be said…)and #2 they got too comfortable that they were having arguments, disagreements… before they’re wedding!!!

MBachur: How did you not throw up? My husband tried everything, but every year he throws up, and I can’t take it. I don’t mind when he’s high… but it’s not worth it afterward when he’s throwing up and feeling sick like a dog.

One thing I can’t understand is how they do it again every year. I understand the first time when you don’t realize what’s coming. But after feeling so sick, how can one bare to drink again. (And it’s not like he dreads it, he gets excited every year! How do I remind him what it felt like?????

I’m also quite a jealous type. But like everyone is saying there’s always more to the picture than you see.

I once saw this so clearly, years ago, when I was a kid in camp, there were a few girls in my grade who I would look at with plain E-N-V-Y. They looked like they had everything, money, beautiful clothes, friends, parents who sent care-packages all the time… and then I learnt at the end of the summer, one didn’t have a father, one’s brother was very sick, and one had major family issues… but even though I learnt this lesson well then, I still sometimes struggle with it, it’s a constant battle.

And it’s funny, because recently I really settled down, married happily BH, love my job, my apartment… have so much to thank Hashem for, so you’d think that this problem would disapear, but as happy as I am, sometimes I’ll see something by someone else (especially if I feel it isn’t fair), and it will pinch! But I am better these days, I think, i hope…
