besides the hashkafik issues above, it’s just plain a bad marketing area, to advertise in a frum publication. why cant you advertise in goyish publications that serve and are catered specifically for the rich and wealthy people. most fum people cant afford those jewlery, and those who can few will actually make the purchase. its like advertizing ferraris in a yiddish newspaper in Williamsberg…

yeah, this sports world really is sinking lower and lower. forget common courtesy or even respect, homage nor loyalty. every player is looked upon as a product instead of a person. is he vested in this team or not. if not, get rid of him. it’s not only the jets, goq, it’s almost every team in any sport.

my friend told me an answer to the b.y.’s kasha.

when moshe split the yam suf, he was commanded to do a ????? of raising his hands, and then the water divided. But when the yidden left the yam suf, moshe was commanded to do a ????? to bring the water back to its original state. we see from here, that if moshe didn’t do that, if he didn’t do that second ?????, the water would have remained suspended in its new miraculous state. because a neis, in its essense, is ????? ?? ????, and therefore has no ????, no limit nor boundry. And unless something is done to counteract that, it will remain in its matzav nissi.

so by chanuka the fact that the oil burned 8 days was a ?? ????. but the phenomenon of the oil STOPPING TO BURN by itself at the end of the 8th day, WHEN NO ????? WAS DONE TO EXTRICATE IT FROM ITS MATZAV NISSI, was an additional neis in of itself, and perhaps a ????? that all 8 days are really one big miracle, including the very first day, through the ????? of lighting that original ner.

i heard that the only things that don’t shrink are people’s noses and ears, and that’s why they sometimes look rather large on older people’s faces.

oh come off zed! what ‘spirit’ do you think rubbed onto us anyway? That there is a ‘ghost of chanuka’ at this time of year?! Please!?! The intention here clearly is the excitement of this tekufa called Chanuka and it’s beauty, the break we get from our busy daily lives and spend time with our family, getting inspired from our chanuka licht, telling stories, playing dreidel and whetting our appetites with Mom’s delicious potato latkes.

calm down guys! sheeesh, you’d think somebody here said “merry chanukah” or “let’s sing a chanuka carol.”

there is nothing wrong with getting excited for the next yomtov, chanuka, even if it means tasting a donut. no one ever said donuts and latkes are what chanuka is all about. you people have to chill, and stop being such critical, analytical, and hot-headed posters!

too much coffee is dangerous for your health, but too much time in the cr is fatal. you got to get out, y’know, see the world, breath the fresh air outdoors more, maybe meet people in person. seperating yourself from the computer an hour a month is just not enough.

a couple was having a party at their house. an hour before the party the woman found out that she still needed escargots. so she sent her husband out to get it. he was walking to the supermarket and he figured he had lots of time. so he stopped at the bar on the way. an hour and a half later he looked at his watch and realized that the party had already started. he quickly ran to the market, bought the snails and ran home. he tried to sneak into the kitchen without his wife seeing him but at that moment his wife came out. he quickly threw the snails on the floor and said, “come on guys, we’re almost there.”

Did you think about your kidneys today?

    consider:

    1. The kidneys have a higher blood flow than even the brain, liver or heart.

    2. The kidneys reabsorb and redistribute 99% of the blood volume and only 0.1% of the blood filtered becomes urine.

    3. Kidney stones are an accumulation of mineral salts and mostly combined with calcium which can lodge anywhere along the course of the urinary tract.

    4. Refined carbohydrates and sugar help the body make kidney stones.

    5. Sugar will stimulate the pancreas to release insulin. This causes extra calcium to be excreted in the urine. . . alas, kidney stones.

    6. An excess of milk or antacids may cause kidney stones.

    8. Each kidney weighs approximately 4 to 6 ounces.

    9. The kidneys of a newborn baby are about 3X larger in proportion to body weight as in the adult.

    10. The volume of urine excreted daily varies from 1000 to 2000 ml (averaging 1500 ml). 1000 ml (millileters) = 1 liter.

This has been brought to you by the Society for Healthy Kidneys.

    YAY KIDNEYS!!!

Jewish Thanksgiving Day is on the 25th of the month (Kisleiv, that is), and it lasts for 8 days, celebrated with potato latkes and doughnuts….mmmmmmmmmmmmm

    – btw, regarding your poll, no turkey for us. even though i live in canada, and thanksgiving in canada was in october, my american relatives are here for the weekend and were happy with a nice canadian dinner.

usually the kids get off on Chanukah weekend, so to spend shabbos chanuka with family, camp reunions, and the like. this year my whole extended family is trying to get together which i am so excited and looking forward to seeing all my cousins aunts and uncles. it is an ideal time, especially with the simcha of chanuka infused in the air (together with the smell of yummy donuts of course, but i digress)

When life gives you lemons, unscramble and make melons 🙂
