The original Nusach Sefard came from places like yemen & spain (I believe), and it was not a break-off from Nusach Ashkenaz. There is no nusach that’s better (in both opinions) than the other.
So, whatever your family minhag is, you should proabaly follow that.
As @CommonSaychel so wisely put it: your nusach is no one else’s concern. Other people can’t tell you to change your nusach.

Dizzy likes chocolate-covered pickles, and that doesn’t sound so bad to me (I’ve never tried it). But I wouldn’t have it with ketchup.

Fight against what? Fight against reform and conservative, of course, they are going against Hashem every single day. But you won’t convince the radical mishichists that the Lubavitcher Rebbe isn’t physically alive. They won’t listen to me or to anyone of you, they are stubborn in their opinion. And you and I have problems with it. But the most we can do is to uselessly start fighting about it. Which ends up with no solution.
Fact: We disagree with each other
Another Fact: We won’t get anywhere by playing gadlus games
Another Fact: Only Hashem knows who were the top Yidden post-war.

If anyone has a kashya on one of the facts please reply.
    Thank You.

I know that Rav Moshe Feinstein ZT”L wrote that you can change from sefard to Ashkenaz, but I wasn’t saying that ‘YOU AREN’T ALLOWED TO’ switch. I was just saying that if you have a minhag then follow it. Just because Rav Moshe said you CAN change does that mean anyone who davens sefard all NEED to change to ashkenaz? No, if you daven a certain nusach then you should lechatchila stay with it. If you need to switch it, let’s say your hired as a chazzan in a nusach ashkenaz shul, but you daven nusach sefard, you may change your nusach for then.

If that is your minhag, passed down from father to father, then you should probably keep that minhag.

I like what Haleivi is saying and I do agree that people should keep their opinion of the lubavitvcher rebbe being moshiach mostly to themselves, but what Avira said at the end is not correct.
The rebbe, first of all, has published teachings that fill more than 300 volumes (!). He set the basis and planted the seed for thousands of shluchim, and many more to come. He made tens of thousands of Baalei Teshuvah, set up hundreds of schools, and worked to spread Torah and Frum Yidden to the Arbah Kanfos Ha’aretz.
After the halocaust, the jewish world was becoming worse by the day. People were coming to America, only to go off the derech, they was getting proper jewish eductions (not everyone was in lakewood, in fact there were very little frum yidden in lakewood at the time), and everything would of collapsed.
Enter: the lubavitcher rebbe. Starting from his Nesius on Yud Shevat, he was pushing and calling for Yeshivos, batei midrashim & batei kenesios to be open. He never stopped, until Hakadosh Baruch Hu decided that the Yidden no longer deserved to have him.
I will not put down any other tzadikim or gedolim, but if anyone knows how much the lubavitcher rebbe did then you kind of know that he was on the top 3.

    1. The ethiopian jews show us how important it was that the mishna and gemara was written down. If it wasn’t, then we could have been like them, or worse.
    2. They are assumed to be froom the 10 Shevatim of Malchus Yisroel, which was brought to galus and scattered around the world by Sancheirev YM”S and only now they are being revealed. One of the promises that Moshiach is nearing is that they will be known and united with the other Yidden.
    3. There were some Kohanim & levi’im that were exiled with the 10 Shevatim, so they could have some Kohanim & levi’im.

I figured, but my point was that I have unsuccessfully searched for a camera in that price range of at least normal quality, and turned up empty-handed. I don’t know why they need to be $100 at least to be good quality. That’s just the way the economy (or whatever business-thing it is) works.

I think everyone likes funny, or at least non-controversial topics that people agree on but just share their opinions. We ned more chilled topics. Haleivi does have some nice topics to discuss.

“Which derech is the “real” derech, and is that a dumb question.”
That will cause a HUGE uproar and controversy from everyone. You’ll probably not have an agreement on there. Not so sure it is a good Idea. Look at some of the big controversial topics, and that only has to do with community in the frum world. Imagine the whole matzav.

Cameras that you will find under $35 will be low quality (meaning the video quality, not necessarily the actual camera quality). Even $60 dollar cameras are not as good quality as an old smartphone.

Do reform give Bris Milas? According to Halachah? Are they foresure yidden?
The ones who started it were nebachdike yidden (who were reshaim, they’re still nebach) and by today’s generation all are intermarried you don’t know if they (and they’re children) are jewish or not.
ober chochom was prob talking about frum yidden. I agree mostly with what he was saying.

Joe Biden is a silly old nutcase who has no clue what anything means. He does not define unity correctly.
Achdus is not the only thing that’s stopping the geulah, but when we have Achdus when we’re not fighting silly, baseless arguments, everything else will come with it. (That’s my view, if you object then that’s fine.)

It should make a tosefta. But to have a Zera Shimshon and Derashos Haran they ought to make a Rambam first. If they were just maing the simple seforim, then it can wait. But to go so in depth without a Rambam makes me ask a question.

My thought is that something like the halocaust, most yidden did not know of all the anti-semetic thigns that were happening. People didn’t speak up or interfere. I’m not Chas V’shalom saying that such a terrible thing would happen again, but it reminds us to keep in mind that the worlds not perfect, and there haters of klal yisrael who all they want to do is destroy and kill yidden. We should be aware of these.

If your jewish (more likely frum) then you know what a Jewish Ta’am is. I didn’t say jewish emotions. Did you hear of Shabbos Zemiros? They have a certain Ehrleche feel to them.
Like Avraham Fried or Mordechai Ben Dovid’s songs gives you a different feeling than the music of nissim black or Gad Elbaz. Right?

I want to make things clear: The Rebbe was one of (if not the) the most biggest and chashuvah tzaddikim in his generation. You are just too IGNORANT and don’t know half a page of tanya so you listen to anything some greasy bachurim hock to you about in your coffee room in your yeshiva. If you would just become a bit more knowledgable, look a little more for the truth, you’ll find out how ignorant you have been.
The Rebbe on Sukkos cat-napped. Meaning, he didn’t GO to sleep. He may have ended up falling asleep for a short while, less than 20 minutes, which according to halachah is considered a nap. And have you every heard of Yaakov Avinu? He learned in Yeshivas Shem V’ever for 20 years, and he ‘didn’t sleep’. Say your same ta’ane to Yaakov Avinu, and say that Chazal lies Chas V’shalom! Yaakov Avinu didn’t go to sleep, but he slept small naps.

I suggest you learn more about the Rebbe and his tzidkus and gadlus from authentic sources and then talk. You know for a fact that you are just ignorant.

edited, although not quite as much as it should have been…

    And rightwriter is right %100.
Moshiach would have been here already if we had achdus. We need to remember that we are all yidden, sons of Hashem. We are all brothers. אחינו כל בית ישראל. We must unite, for the sake of everyone. We all know that being split apart is bad for both sides, so let’s remember that we are all sons of the same father, and that is Avinu Malkeinu, our father in heaven.

ujm is right. And I want to say that song is a very special thing, in a sense that it expresses the emotions of the writer and infuses the listener with the same emotion. And very good musicianists (whatever they’re called) can tell what style and emotions are put through the song. Jewish Songs are Jewish not because a jewish singer took a goyish tune and added jewish words, but because they have a Jewish Ta’am (taste). That’s my perspective.

These are the CNN poll results:

(CNN) One year out from the 2022 midterm elections, 58% of Americans say President Joe Biden hasn’t paid enough attention to the nation’s most important problems, as a majority disapproves of the way he’s handling his job as President, according to a new CNN Poll conducted by SSRS.

More than a third of Americans call the economy the most pressing problem facing the country (36%). Among the group that sees it that way, 72% say Biden hasn’t been attentive to the right issues. That dynamic is reversed among the smaller 20% who consider the coronavirus pandemic the nation’s top problem: 79% in that subset say Biden has had the right priorities, while 21% not.
All told, 48% of adults approve of the way Biden is handling the job while 52% disapprove. Intensity within those ratings breaks sharply against the President. The share saying they strongly approve of Biden’s performance has dropped to just 15%, down from 34% in April.

I think this Ober CHochomel is right.
