You are not allowed to steal from a non-Jew.
tro11MemberPet peeve of mine- can we please use another adjective over ‘retarded’. It bothers me when this word is just thrown around.
Flame
tro11MemberI am also going to speech therapy school next year. Maybe we will be classmates.
tro11MemberYes, their internet goes slower.
tro11MemberAt this point, I’m not sure I really care.
So then tell us, tell us, tell us!!!!
tro11MemberHe probably got a free drink at Starbucks. (Usually he pays for them).
tro11MemberYes if that interests you.
tro11MemberOMG coffee addict, you’re a mod??!!
tro11Membertro11; That’s low! I feel bad for you.
What?
tro11MemberThat’s why in the more religious circles they look down upon inter-gender mingling before one is of marriagable age. I guess if you are still available when she comes back you can still date her.
tro11MemberIn case anyone is curious, I have a Palm Treo phone. One time I was connecting it to my GPS via bluetooth, and I missed the “e” so on my GPS my phone name is Tro. So that kinda stuck.
tro11MemberTroll- is this the first time you got a throat ache? You’re making it seem as though you are going through some major crisis which youve never experienced before.
First of all my name is tro not troll. second of all yes i have had a throat ache before but not with fever and feeling week and achy muscles. also last night i had diarrhea if you must know. so i wanted to know what you guys thought it was.
helath, good point. but if i put one down my throat and its positive then i could go to the doctor. ill come to you if you are a doctor and you take my insurance. even if you are a nurse. or i may have some antibiotics in the medicine cabinet
tro11MemberHey health are you a doctor? Can I get a rapid test myself and just shove it in to my throat?
tro11MemberThank you very much, mind.
tro11MemberYes, it’s true.
tro11MemberOk, I’m sorry I shouldn’t have said that. what exactly did the message say?
tro11MemberAnd your screen name is am yisroel chai??????
If am yisroel was like you we’d be gone long ago!
tro11MemberFirst diagnose what your problem REALLY is… 😉
what chutzpa!! you dont even know me and just like that you insinuate that I have some type of psychological or neurological probelm??
the anomynity of the internet makes people monsters but you have crossed the line sir. I hope you meant it as a joke but some jokes are just over the line.
tro11MemberI’m just joking. No you cannot get a virus from going to the coffee room.
tro11MemberI’d rather self diagnose.
tro11MemberAre you a female over 50 by any chance?
tro11Memberbla bla bla bla bla bla
tro11Membertro11 – “It’s kfira to join an army? What does that even mean?”
It means the Torah doesn’t allow you to join up!
It doesn’t mean that.
tro11Member“lesschumras: It’s only kfira to join a Jewish army. “
It’s kfira to join an army? What does that even mean?
tro11MemberIn fact, the Netziv on parshat Eikev and Shlach (i don’t know the passuk in Eikev off hand, but it was the last Emek Davar on Shlach) says the opposite.
The story you are quoting about the Netziv that even he was going to become a shoemaker is a valid point. But if you look at the end of the story, he heard his parents discussing it and he decided that he would become a talmid chacham. And lo and behold he did. So the op is right.
tro11MemberShe is wrong. Here’s why:
By the time he is dating, he is more than likely in yeshiva, engrossing himself in Torah, the purpose of life, which will provide a strong foundation for his family. She has most likely not done any of the above.
She / her parents need to beg and plead with a shadchan to get noticed. He just needs to have a pulse and not drool when eating, nothing of which has anything to do with girls or boys being better than each other.
He will juggle the responsiblilty of learning AND helping around the house / entertaining the kids. She will expect a thank you if she lets him go to night seder.
Normal men are more than likely secure in themselves. Normal women (I’ll assume for the sake of discussion that BPT is normal), well…
Shall I keep going?
tro11MemberShuli, you are nuttier than shteiger. At least shteiger had a trigger for her tirade.
tro11Member$3 for seltzer? Ganovim.
Ganovim? He’s in their hotel, using their wi-fi, sleeping and drooling over their couch, who are you calling ganovim?
tro11MemberHP Touchpads. They are sold out everywhere and everybody wants them. Buy a lot at the highly discounted price $99 or 149$, and resell them.
tro11MemberYour surprise is precisely what I’m talking about.
🙂
tro11MemberUmekayem Emunaso is also in third person. I think ItcheSrulik’s response is the reason. Speaking direct is only when we mean to speak directly, as in a request. I think you can find examples in your day to day life where, upon carrying on to someone about a certain good trait, you’ll end up dropping the direct addressing.
I don’t think I ever do that.
Regarding the end of the Bracha, all Brachos start out direct and end in third person. The reason for this that we don’t really know Hashem. As soon as we focus ourselves to Hashem we realize that we can never truly fathom His greatness.
Firstly, citation needed. Secondly, the endings are not in the third person.
tro11MemberFirst person? I don’t recall the word “ani” in their anywhere. Please point it out. (Or do you not know that first person is I, second person is you, third person is he?)
It’s not second person because G-d is not a person. I meant that it’s written in the first G-d.
tro11MemberI’m kidding. Yes, that is the same question.
tro11MemberI think the question can also be asked regarding the phrases of ?????? ?????? ????? ??? followed right away by ?? ????. Why the switch there?
I’ll ask my question. You can ask your own question if you want.
tro11MemberNo, it is all in third person. Except attah.
Well, actually it can be either. Regardless, both the opening and closing of the blessing are in the first person, as is the entire remainder of shemona esrei. The only part that is clearly in the third person is lemaan shemo.
tro11MemberI’ve tasted better schwarma in america then in EY.
No you have not!
April 4, 2011 1:17 am at 1:17 am in reply to: Especially good at clarifying "How do we know Hashem exists?" to a young adult #778379tro11MemberI also agree with TBT and popa and msseeker and chalilavchas and observanteen.
But some people are just more skeptical by nature and need more reassurance.
tro11MemberYou better not change my subtitle!!
tro11MemberChillul Hashem is applicable to a trait or action exhibited only by a large number of Jews. Chillul Hashem as most Jews view it, is more accurately a manifestation of Anti-Semitism.
If a Muslim or Christian cuts me off, or is rude to me, I don’t attribute his actions to his Christianity or Muslimity, I blame the person. I don’t believe the Chinese race lacks patience even though a Chinese waiter once pressured me to finish my meal.
To blame Jews as a whole for an action committed by one single Jew is nothing other than Anti-Semitism. Now if an entire Jewish organization got up and said that all Jews should cheat on their taxes, that would be a chillul hashem.
p.s. I don’t really believe this, but why am I wrong?
tro11MemberOh yeah, and also they get binah yeseira!
tro11MemberCharlieHall!
tro11MemberPlease define better and spirtual
I don’t understand.
tro11MemberPeople aren’t born to the navy or to the army. It is okay for one person to choose to go to the army and another to the navy. It is okay for one person to choose to be a Rosh Hayeshiva (head of a large torah institution) and another to be a lawyer or an accountant or a management assistant.
It is okay to choose to be on a higher spiritual level. You are not born that way.
tro11MemberI wouldn’t use a Proxa brush if your gingiva are inflamed – it will likely irritate the interdental papilla. Flossing daily and brushing twice daily with a fluoride containing toothpaste are crucial. Proper brushing technique is also really important – you have to make sure to massage your gums – best way is to hold brush horizontally and at a 45 degree tilt at your gum line, such that the brush is contacting both your teeth and your gums.
And minimize snacks to meal times – there is more saliva then, which buffers the acidic effect of cavity causing bacteria.
tro11Memberand indeed there are many Starbucks locations that do not serve hot meat sandwiches. These are generally the Starbucks kiosks
that can be found in airports, department stores, highway rest-stops, supermarkets etc., and at these locations the cRc is able to
recommend any drink made from kosher ingredients (even though some items in those stores are not kosher certified).
This seems to imply that even though there are other items that are not kosher certified, it’s fine. As long as it’s not meat that’s not kosher certified.
tro11MemberThe topic was started by a TROLL.
Your comment reminds me of the Iranians who saw the word “Zion” in the 2012 olympic logo. You have a very active imagination. My screen name is tro-eleven – nothing to do with troll (and I never even liked them or had any).
And if your best way to respond is by calling me names and commenting on my screen name, it shows there is not much substance in your argument – an admission of sorts for my position.
tro11MemberI know – but why would they only wash their treif meat utensils with the coffee utensils. What about the utensils from the other meat things they make (danishes, etc.)?
March 28, 2011 10:09 pm at 10:09 pm in reply to: Let's Define Terms – What is "yeshivish", "MO", etc? #753784tro11MemberI don’t like labels. But yeshivish means a fellow wears a black hat on Shabbatot and Yamim Tovim (and I believe some even wear them on weekdays).
MO incorporates the subtleties of modernism into the religion.
tro11MemberCharlie,
The other way around. A Yisroel is so much higher than a Cohen, and that’s why he doesn’t need all those Mitzvos.
Why should this even be a discussion – why can’t everyone just be equal? Charlie is 100% correct.
Men can do everything that women can do – even more – we can fly planes, be CEO’s of companies, be lawyers, etc., so why are we worse off when it comes to religion?
tro11Member“As a woman, when I say She-asani Kirtzono each day, I really mean it.”
You’ve struck a nerve. I actually also say Sheasani kirtzono because I dont think that I would really mean it if I would say shelo asani isha.
