November 29, 2018 8:54 pm at 8:54 pm in reply to: The Anti-Vaxxers are Causing a Chillul Hashem #1633494Torah613TorahParticipantAgreed. My child was vaccinated and causes kiddush Hashem wherever she goes.
Torah613TorahParticipantI agree
Torah613TorahParticipantPutting kids in timeout encourages apathy hitting kids teaches them to hit not punishing them makes them overly indulge
Torah613TorahParticipantBecause it contradicts their worldview they can’t afford to believe it. there’s studies that people can forgets things that bother them

December 12, 2017 10:41 pm at 10:41 pm in reply to: Have you ever been mekarev a paleontologist? #1426253Torah613TorahParticipantI grew up with a girl who is now a meteorological paleontologist. She studies the weather from the supposed time of the dinosaurs. I did not try to be meKarev her. But she tried to make me be less frum.
Torah613TorahParticipantIt’s sort of like asking how does Hashem control nature, aren’t there intermediaries. Yes. That is “how” Hashem does it. But our human terms do not suffice to”explain” G-d.
Torah613TorahParticipantHaving Jewish matrilineal lineage.
To fulfill thanks potential you need to learn Torah
Torah613TorahParticipantIs being married tznius?
Hashem wants us to be, so yes it is.
Torah613TorahParticipantLarge eggs are supposed to be 2 oz. I have been weighing my eggs and they are consistently 1.7-1.9..

On the other side of close people dying is seeing your grandchildren get married. Perhaps even great grandchildren. May we all be so fortunate.
Ad meah v’esrim.
Torah613TorahParticipantWhat about davening for a job that you are competing with a frum person for?
Torah613TorahParticipantCTL had the lawyer response.

November 29, 2016 12:19 am at 12:19 am in reply to: A soporific story of moderate coincidence #1195992Torah613TorahParticipantI have figured out several people on the CR based on only a few details. You have to assume that minor details are made up to disguise who the person is. Usually the major details are correct, as well as details that the person deems insignificant.
Torah613TorahParticipantHashem decides who and where is safe.
Torah613TorahParticipantJust be glad that there are many minyanim.
Torah613TorahParticipantThe true answer is, yes many boys will say no on weight.
however, I have plenty of married friends who were overweight. Or who took medication, or who had a genetic issue, or whose parents were geirim, or who were very poor family, or who had a sibling with mental illness or OTD.
There are plenty of mumim in shidduchiim. Most people have at least one. If your worst mum is being overweight, you will probably get married. If you have emotional issues with relationships, you will have a much harder time getting married that you will with any or all of the mumim above.
November 21, 2016 5:32 pm at 5:32 pm in reply to: Converting to Judaism, how do I explain to family about Xmas? #1193158Torah613TorahParticipantDon’t listen to anything Joseph says. Ask your Rabbi.
Torah613TorahParticipantI’m not afraid of anti-Semitic people. Hashem runs the world and ??? ????? ?? ????. I’m much more worried about Jews who don’t keep mitzvos or live up to our responsibility as a Jew because Hashem might punish us for not doing enough to help them.
Torah613TorahParticipantI read it. It was great but there are better sources of information nowadays
Torah613TorahParticipantMy child uses a harness and I am proud of it
Torah613TorahParticipantGood point!
Torah613TorahParticipantRebyid, we should trade. I only like the pink and peach ones.
Torah613TorahParticipantExcellence good point
Torah613TorahParticipantReb Yid, I used to have a basic flip phone and it did have the option of Internet
Torah613TorahParticipantBecause smartphones are so convenient and fun.
Torah613TorahParticipantIf you love your baby, you will get them a bugaboo.
Torah613TorahParticipantKapusta, you should have started your own thread: Apple theory of the shidduch crisis.

Torah613TorahParticipantSo they made a miscalculation one year. They are producing a much desired product until then.
Most people want to turn over their kitchens at least a few days prior to Erev Pesach, (especially those of us who can’t cook anything otherwise!) and there is no mitzva to stop eating chametz until Erev Pesach anyway.
Torah613TorahParticipantAre you looking for cheap or free?
If you just want cheap clothing, I would go to Pnina’s on like 13th and maybe 38th or 40th st.?? It’s new but classic styles and at cost price, it’s run as a tzedaka by a very special family.
Torah613TorahParticipantyekke2, that’s a great story.
April 14, 2016 2:21 am at 2:21 am in reply to: Should frum children have a library card? ✡️👪📚💳 #1149558Torah613TorahParticipantInteresting topic.
I agree with RebYidd that children should have a library card and go together to the library.
Supervision is also very important. With the sadly lowered morality of the world around us, it is important to make sure that our reading material does not affect us negatively in a spiritual way.
Personally, I prefer to place a hold online for books I want and then pick them up, because browsing exposes us to so much garbage.
Torah613TorahParticipantFor those who don’t get it, there’s a joke that goes around every year about a group of people who have nothing to eat on Pesach… ashkenazim
Torah613TorahParticipantThe melted butter theory of the shidduch crisis: There are always more nooks and crannies than the melted butter can fill.
Torah613TorahParticipantThe other day, I purchased pareve english muffins. Didn’t realize they existed (outside Brooklyn, anyway)
Torah613TorahParticipantBoro Park is the best, but don’t bother with a car.
Torah613TorahParticipantThank you DY for bumping.
Bored on the job, I completely agree.
I also agree with what squeak said at some point – that you can’t make plans for major social engineering, without knowing what the effects are, with no actual factual basis.
Torah613TorahParticipantDY, that thread was my finest time waster ever.
Torah613TorahParticipantTaking Motrin can give you ulcers
Taking Tylenol can give you liver failure.
It’s a medication. It doesn’t work for everyone and it has side effects. Doesn’t mean it’s not a good thing for other people in moderation.
March 9, 2016 12:32 am at 12:32 am in reply to: Pink and white/ Blue and white/ Yellow and white cookies #1141372Torah613TorahParticipantI have a close relative who was the only Jew in an African American workforce for 30 years.
They used to bring black and white cookies to work for MLK day, until they got nervous in the past few years that it would be taken the wrong way by someone.
Torah613TorahParticipantI like this thread. Good for you taking over, Mr Froggie.
Torah613TorahParticipantDating is like a box of chocolates.
There are only so many chocolates in there, and once you’ve tasted each one to see if it’s good, there are no more whole chocolates to eat.
I’m not sure what my point is either.
