ToiParticipantsru- ill bet there are a few thousand rambams that you’re michusar havanah in- dont you think theres a possibility that theres a pshat in this one you havent been zoche to yet?

January 18, 2012 9:11 pm at 9:11 pm in reply to: What's the argument against having a Madina? #852463ToiParticipantabe- i dont understand you. Why cant i fulfill all the mitzvos that you say the rishonim list about living in and building EY and still be a strong opponent of zionism? why do you NEED to identify with the movement? the cultural, torah free, secular movement. let me not hold of the zionists and still hold of mitzvos! So why do you feel the utter need to identify?!
ToiParticipantGAW- stop t- some people might take you seriously.
Feif- funny how youll quote the chaon ish on this but on sheirut le’umi you forget his opinion.
ToiParticipant“Rav Rozenswieg: Brisk like no other
But you can see for yourself on YUTorah.org”
LOL
ToiParticipantwhat i find intersting is why the posters who have an obvious agenda against kollel cant fathom that the torah giants of the last 50 years might have had a better understanding of the mentioned mishnayos and tshuvos then they.
ToiParticipantdayan ehrentreau from england (av beis din) told me that when you get a psak from a rav, that psak for you is binding halachah and its ossur to ask another.
January 17, 2012 10:18 pm at 10:18 pm in reply to: What's the argument against having a Madina? #852445ToiParticipantif two people are eating matzoh, one because it tastes yummy and one cuz its the night of the year when its an asseh, which one is praiseworthy? not the guy whos movement placed values outside of judaism before it. The torah is what allows us to be called a nation;a mechalel shabbos has a din of a goy. one who eats latkes on chanukah and cheesecake on shavuos and drives on shabbos isnt considered jewish. treif love of land, and placing personal values cloaked in frum disguises, and presenting them as torah-true hashkafos, as much as you wish it would, doesnt make the idea right. granted, we are at a point in history (or past it) where the chazon ish said that maybe the Chasam Sofer could come up with the eitzah to get out of it, but the idea is kochi bi’otzem yodi;its treif.
ToiParticipantyou mean the tzionim did something wrong??gasp!
ToiParticipantbrown meat in a frying pan with garlic and onion few dashes of soy sauce. then two more cloves of fresh garlic in crockpot. the rest is standard.
Baal habooze-do some research- booze actually tastes more flavorful when room temperature and slightly diluted with water.

ToiParticipantthe blatant and seemingly deliberate blindness of several posters here, as well as their ability to try and manipulate texts to mean what they want is flooring.
January 8, 2012 11:55 am at 11:55 am in reply to: Ending a Shidduch process is a reason needed #842120ToiParticipantHow can anyone demand a reason for a very personal decision. they definitely have no right. you dont need to be her test mouse for further shidduchim, and its not a tayna to reveal personal feelings.
January 8, 2012 11:51 am at 11:51 am in reply to: Winter Vacation & Minyan Problem- your opinion please #842402ToiParticipantif you wouldnt go for the money hes charging then hes not losing your business, he never couldve had it. that said, maybe pay him a fee to join the minyan.
January 8, 2012 11:50 am at 11:50 am in reply to: Very disturbing, please only kind people read. #842310ToiParticipantDear Always,
I dont know if the mods will allow it, but my mother is an expert in these issues, having helped fix or ending a marriage that needed doing so. shes a well known kalah teacher and is on several sholom bayis orgs., and has worked with massive rabbanim. she’ll try to help you as mch as possible. please contact the mods or editor if youre intersted.
January 5, 2012 1:07 pm at 1:07 pm in reply to: I just know this is going to go the wrong way #844634ToiParticipantaries- they dont use dogs.
ToiParticipantmake sure to use screws, and dont cheap out on sanding. make your little brothers sand. dont skimp on the wood;a plywood shtender may make it for a few, but solid oak or the like will be rock solid for a looong time.
ToiParticipantzdad- blank. vihameivin yavin.
ToiParticipantoomis- a woman without her man is nothing
is either- A woman; without her, Man is nothing.
or
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
ToiParticipantthe evil ones are those with a blob of jelly on top, to convince you how much must be inside, and then theyre empty. where are the best sufganiyos in yerushalayim?
ToiParticipantbring in afew copies of Eats, Shoots, and Leaves for your students to read. read it first nad censor as necessary. it hysterical, and should get them thinking.
ToiParticipantim still checking hadassim.
ToiParticipantzdad- did you uncharacteristicly just admit that a ban, when called for by gedolim, should be upheld? my, your genius is compelling.
ToiParticipantcommon- its readily noticeable to any yeshivaman if its not a bors, and truthfully their hats are a cut above the rest.
ToiParticipantif hes 18 and he thinks he needs a bors, he probably needs it. itll run you a pretty penny. in the US theyre about 180-230, but here theyll run you around a thousand shek. sorry
ToiParticipantzdad- would you not at least admit that he also does things NOt befitting a prince? it stands to reason that you can tbring a rayye from him. and besides, once again you interject something with no real applicability to the poster above.
ToiParticipantWhen a poster doesn’t use paragraph breaks.
ToiParticipantyou get the magic sink. its a sink you put things into dirty, and they come out clean. you should try it.

December 26, 2011 9:13 pm at 9:13 pm in reply to: What Mesivta is extremely warm and easy going, which you would recommend? #840889ToiParticipantdarchei torah in toronto.
ToiParticipantthe lumix is extremely user friendly, has an intelligent seting that adjusts for environment and lighting, and comes with a leica lens standard. that may not mean anything to you but ask anyone into cameras- the two things that really matter are the sensor and the lens. all point and shoots have a half-sensor, but the lens will be the decider. and the lumix has a darn good one.
December 25, 2011 7:45 pm at 7:45 pm in reply to: When asked Shiduch info: Do I have to tell the girls side that my friend smokes? #838353ToiParticipantsmoking is cool. shadchan is roshei teivos- sheker dover, kesef notel. girls manage to ascertain if a bochur is in line with her views on movies and goyish music (so they can enjoy those together after marriage), she can figure out smoking, too.
ToiParticipantpanasonic lumix. cant be beat.
ToiParticipantthe vilna gaon in his peirush in shulchan aruch, brings down the midrash quoted above and states, lihalachah, that ticheiles/ the chilazon has been hidden from klal yisroel and we cannot get it. cant find it, research it, chance upon it etc. so your arguing on the vilna gaon. he says this is the mitzi’us.
December 24, 2011 11:43 pm at 11:43 pm in reply to: When asked Shiduch info: Do I have to tell the girls side that my friend smokes? #838332ToiParticipantfor those who say that most bochurim dont smoke. yes, if your looking at chofetz chaim in yihupitz then fine. but most bochurim on the yeshivish spectrum will take a cigarette now and then and at least a third smoke rather heavily. for it to be a concern for shidduchim- fine, you can also decide youd rather not marry someone with a limp, but to rule it out entirely is jst dumb. blame the girls for their own shidduch crisis.

ToiParticipantyit- ayin shumm in tosfos. ain mochin.
ToiParticipanti think the op meant peyas harosh. in which case, its a machlokes rishonim exactly where the peyous are. the halachah of the is length, not never touching them. go look at rishonim there cuz its too complicate to write.
ToiParticipant“have fun at your chanukah party and all works out in the end”
probably the dumbest thing i ever heard.
op- they wanna shmooze (or at least the guys) for bad bad reasons. so its bad.
ToiParticipantassur.
ToiParticipantpba- your inability to detect sarcasm is without equal.
ToiParticipantnever thought of that. maybe cuz xmas is a compound word so your saying x as a complete word unto itself like yushke-fish. christian is refering to those who follow him ym’sh. so its a new word. just a thought.
ToiParticipantfuzzy
ToiParticipantitche- loflippinl.
ToiParticipantwhatever helps their self-image and allows them to feel more fulfilled in their service of Hashem.
