    repeat after me

when R chaim kanievsky and R aharon leib shteinman shlita tell us, the common folk, whats going on, they just might have a better idea then you. honestly, if you really want to follow your heart on an issue you please, stop making excuses and just say so. at least then you wont need to blame it on your “torah hashkafa”.

actually the gamarah in sanhedrin somewhere in the nuns i think says- chosh birosho or bimocho- yaasoik batorah. quite frankly, the ability of so many people in here to discount the torah as the mekor hachaim and disregard the words of the gedolim who see whats happening in a way the layman clearly cant comprehend is appalling.

you mean the flag stuffing? maybe your right. that much ill give you. you named a wide range of rabbonim, from the yu crowd to chassidish, as im sure you know. if youd like to know what the yeshivish/right wing rabbonim would say, id think theyd listen to what their gedolim are saying. like saying avinu malkeinu during shacharis and mincha for the next ten days to be mivatel this gzeira rah. Heck, even R ovadia said so, and he isnt known to be on the yeshivish spectrum at all. and liberal narrow mindedness could be understood with a bit of kishrin. it means that if you decide to be mishabed your train of thought to the tide of liberalness sweeping the modern world, you will be close minded to the approach of our gedoley oilam who view all things as per torah hashkafa. hate is a word to be understood before you decide when its necessary. we are told to hate the evil deeds of reshaim, and trying to force people to go against psakim from their rabbonim, with the likely result being a lower standard of observance of yiddishkeit, and the exposure of the nations holiest to things they couldnt imagine pre-induction, is something to be hated. the mind frame that causes people to think they are doing the will of Hashem, while in reality allying themselves with reshaim who seek to abolish all forms of torah and mitzvos, is one to be decried and likewise abhored. i once heard in a weekly parshah shiur on the subject of zimri being oiver his aveirah of kannoim pogim bo, that zimri was having kavanos for tikun haoilam and other worthy causes. needless to say he was mistaken, and pinchas was zocheh to brisi shalom as a result. sometimes things that look like an act of murder cant be understood except by those who are truly in tune with the will of Hashem, and are in truth acts to preserve shalom. emotions of the layman neednt and indeed shouldnt be involved.

and i hate your narrow-minded liberalness. and your unwillingness to bend your liberal narrow-mindedness to the will of gedolim. and do you really stinking think that the people who you think of as gedolim woul approve of the idfs approach to yiddishkeit. for crying out loud go stuff a flag down your throat.

kiddush Hashem is assessed by how the torah and HKBH view something that happens. Why would Hashem be happy that one of his children is singing with a bunch of goyim in las vegas. do you think it would make R chaim kanievsky happy? and isnt he close to Hashem? So it would follow that he would understand what makes Hashem happy? why in the world do some people lket what they think and what their emotions tell them get in the way of how yiddishkeit view something? Kiddush Hashem isnt toluy on what your gut says, nor is it toluy on what you want to be true. so can it.

OP- Evidentally the people in klal yisroel who know kol hatorah kiulah, and certainly understand the relevant maarei mekomos better then you, seem to disagree. So nu, where in the world do you get the chutzpah to declare yourself more qualified then them? in fact, if they know pshat is fifferent then you and you have not the slightest inkling about whta youre saying, youre being migaleh ponim batorah shello kihalachah. so nu, what do you say to that?

cats in eretz yisrael are like ants or fleas to the rest of the world. israeli kids view cats the way a kid in lakewood views a fly. its not a big deal, though im not saying its right. i would never let anyone in my family touch a cat here, and ive had to kick them a couple of times, when cats come straight out of sewage and try to rub up against you.

i said meis mitzvah the first time. in other words, actively being mitameh b’oifen heter. michubar litumah bihetairah.

in reply to: Trivia Question #879937

but both would be maskim that as long as they are doing a maaseh of actively being mitameh, not just having the status of tomeh, in an oifen muttar, they wouldnt be ossur to keep being tomeh. like an ohel. ie. if a kohen would be carrying his dead father, or in an ohel with his dead father, you could give him another meis to carry, as long as hes being mitameh to his father too. whether or not he could continue to hold the other meis after putting down his father is a matter of debate. so, if a meis mitzvah was already in a house with a nezira, and another person died- the tumah b’ohel is already from the mais she is muttar too; she wouldnt need to leave. ill try to find it inside, its a machlokes rambam and raavid in hilchos nezirus.

Sam2- as far as i remember the machlokes rambam and raavid is only if youre still tomeh but not being mitameh bipoel. in other words, once he stops touching the meis. but i think everyone is modeh if youre still touching the meis. or in a house with one.

sam- your pshat isnt absolute. if there was a meis mitzvah in the house and then someone died, she wouldnt need to leave because shes michubar litumah.

if something else comes up dont ignore it, but to try and get those shidduchim seems fine to me. btw, i didnt learn there.
