ToiParticipant
i havent at all been following this thread and have read nearly none of it. i just want to warn mdd that stress is one of the major causes of heart attacks. chill dude.
ToiParticipantYussel- its kinda funny that you have a live and let live approach to people talking during davening, but not to those who cant help but learn during davening? retarded.
ToiParticipantanyone in yerushalayim know of any job openings for my wife? She has a masters and is good with any office/secretary/management roles. thanks.
ToiParticipantshrek- and you dont have taanoson those who stand fore the tfillah for the medinah, and sit during laining? ohhhhh
ToiParticipantand i cant wait for the OU to chuck them.
ToiParticipantjewish novels are awful, awful stuff.
ToiParticipantpshh, azah daykan. yes. the neighborhood is a mix of americans and francs. the americans are, biderech klal, much more baalitbatish couples who mostly are the type to come for a year aid vacation in israel yes, there are some serious bnei torah among the maericans, but they are the minority in this neighborhood. mostly rich kids.
ToiParticipantDY- Post of the year.
ToiParticipantI think that since everyone already said the maaylos (no pun intended), ill stay off that part of the op question. i think its kiday to ad that after R nochum eisenstien, the next most popular rov there is R caliphon, who specializes im shalom bayis/counselling and is in high demand. nuff said. thats not hearsay, im in the shchunah often and my brother in law lives there, so i have a pretty clear picture.
ToiParticipantwriter- i suppose i hear, but bh im far enough removed from secular jewish culture that i didnt even know those words are used to mean anything other then what they really do.
ToiParticipantthe ruach in a yeshivah is tremendous. a loud kol torah through the night, and a shacharis like yom kippur. theres nothing like it.
ToiParticipantim in.

May 13, 2013 11:50 pm at 11:50 pm in reply to: A Complaint About The Terms 'Frei' & 'Shiksa' #1049062ToiParticipantwriter- i disagree. your point is only valid if the person says something that sounds close to the bad word. like fudge. but if i stub my toe and yell fiddlesticks, im pretty sure im not covering for something else.
ToiParticipantrational- stop sucking lemons.
ToiParticipantlets- “think”?
Ahem.
ToiParticipantpost too long. as a man, i cant get past the first four lines before i space out and think about beer.
ToiParticipantI have an issue with women being rabbis.
They have cooties.
ToiParticipantI need a chavrusa in yerushalyim. Anyone?
ToiParticipantjust to clarify, i grew up frum all my life and never ate treif, though my family does it chalav stam.
dripping yeshivish is a common expression, and i happen to be pretty yeshivish myself, i just thought his mistake was hilarious.
i wasnt at all insulted, we were making fun of each other.
didnt mean to insult anone here. sheesh.
May 12, 2013 7:14 pm at 7:14 pm in reply to: May one eat milky and meaty during the same meal without bentching in between? #1017644ToiParticipantSam2- the issur would be copying an avodah bachutz. probably, if there is any isur, you would have to do tinufah with the lechem. actually, heyos the tnufah was done w/ the shtei kvasim, maybe you need them too in order to be oiver. hmm, ill think about it.
May 12, 2013 4:48 pm at 4:48 pm in reply to: May one eat milky and meaty during the same meal without bentching in between? #1017639ToiParticipantargh. i hate english people. milky. meaty. what the heck.
ToiParticipantuse amazon.
ToiParticipantGAW- youre hysterical. alright, i wasnt clear.
ToiParticipantrabd- i think its more along the lines that the rest (or should I say the whole) of orthodoxy in america rejects the notion of having female rabbis. its ironic for this issue to be posted here on the erev of the parshah of digalim, the yisoid of which is that Hashem gave a specific avoda to every cheilek of klal yisroel. in trying to be ‘as good as’ men are, women are inherently degrading their role in yiddishkeit, and their role as people. kinda ironic.
ToiParticipantcharlie- off the top of my head, the exact length of time it takes for the moon to circle earth. im sure there are more but i havent read any of the science-proves-the-truth-of-torah books for some time.
ToiParticipantwe dont want them to learn like adam wasnt supposed to eat from the eitz hadas. this way they stay easy to control.
ToiParticipantrational-you said” You’re the amoeba. Your emunah is so weak, it has to be bolstered by…”
nu uh, you are.
ToiParticipantrational- the vort was the irony.
ToiParticipantI guess posts only get approved by the editor on this thread if they endorse ywn. i greatly appreciate having this site up and running, but refusing to post posts that criticize things that really are wrong with his site is just fighting low.
ToiParticipantcrational- chazal saw malachim, heard them speak, and regularly met with Eliyahu hanavi. you are an ameoba compared to them, morally, ethically, in terms of scientific undrstanding, and closeness to Hashem. to talk about and critique them is tipshus.stop being a tipaish.
ToiParticipantthe ksav sofer in last weeks parshah talks exactly about this. He says the Hashem cheshbons schar based on the tovah done for the mikabel, but that theres a special maaleh to the mitzva of one who gives although he’s not rolling in cash.
ToiParticipantrational- the vort was the R Shachters shittah says theres no such thing as the less leaned listening to the rabbis in matters not directly pertaining to halacha, what we chareidim call daas torah. the rabbis you so bakovodikly mentioned by their last names, (ahem…hypocrite) do hold of such an idea, and opa was simply stating that lishitaso of R Shachter he neednt listen to what he thinks on the matter.
ToiParticipant“Sometimes, being big is about realizing how small you are.”
ToiParticipanti sing chayiv inish, kol hashanah kulo.
ToiParticipantrationalfrummie- i always thought you were a girl.
ToiParticipantzdad- only if you lose the apostrophe.
ToiParticipanteom- im feeling that someone has some negius in this one
May 4, 2013 7:44 pm at 7:44 pm in reply to: Wait for The Guy Behind You to Finish Shemona Esrei #950470ToiParticipantand theyre making a mistake. az mah?
ToiParticipantitch- a hat is required during the entore intoxication process.
ToiParticipanti have a beast of a single dalet.
ToiParticipantpersonally, i stick to decimals…
ToiParticipantsmile when you say that…
ToiParticipantyes, its really annoying. it drives me nuts. stupid capitalism.
ToiParticipanti didnt look for the rambam in MN. i guess we shall see.
ToiParticipantand pay with your yerusha…
ToiParticipantyou really have 2 options. try to get bochurim or tourists headed to your hometown to shlep one or two and end upsending them all, or get a part of a lift. i dont know of any other practical way, unles you spend 1800 dollars on seforim at shankys and then he will ship your seforim for you.
ToiParticipantwhy is everyone mad at this guy (assumed) for asking the oilam to try and help out their fellow jews who need it? you may have taaynos on certain things a small minority does and they may be justified, but thats no excuse turn your backs on jews in dire circumstances. we all have our differences, and we all need to sort them out but in the meantime, we can do this much.
ToiParticipantSam2- where are you?
