I agree googleman. As of now around 30 congress and 3 senators or so are boycotting. Out of 535 that is very little. If this speech goes well and he wins the election, both of which are probable, he will be ahead of any other leader in Israels History in stature (including Begin, Sharon, Ben Gourion , etc). The last 24 hours the Obama admin has eased up the pressure on him as they must sense that they lost this battle.

Nobody is going to care in a week or even a day if the invitation lacked protocol or Not and nobody can do a better job on this subject in a prepared speech then BIBI. Also according to a new Gallup poll today, Bibi has a much more fav / unfav rating then Obama does in the USA.

Uber is not really used to save money over a car service. A trip from flatbush to BP that cost me 15$ on car service will cost me 17-18 on Uber. But I will normally give a tip on the car service so its close. Its just so much more convenient that its worth the price

Yes I do. Uber / Lyft is fantastic for short rides. BP to flatbush, etc. The drivers need to act up to a certain standard (enforced by feedback) so the cars are nice, drivers friendly. Its super safe because the drivers are tracked and you can always complain to uber if you have a complaint. Its also great cause you know when they are coming exactly. As the ride gets longer though – It seem to get more pricier. SO a trip to JFK can be 55$ on Uber and say 30$ with a local car service. There is no money transfer on Uber. Its all credit card so thats good and bad.

Its also great if you travel often and dont want the hassle of calling a car service or renting a car every time. In my opinion , Uber is better then owning a car but its no good for long distances. Ask me any question and I will try to help. I use them all the time

For ebay you can either go on vacation mode or change the handling time.

For amazon you can just keep your FBA going and go on vacation mode for the others. Not responding to messages within 24 hours wont get you suspended but you may get a few more bad feedback. Also – make sure you have an automatic email saying you will be away

There are contradictions. In one place it says “vish lo omad”, no body stood up to the Jews….but then it says they killed 75,000 “enemies”…. – and when it was over they celebrated. If they won a war we can celebrate, not if they killed hapless ppl who are not fighting you.

we also need to understand why it says everyone celebrates “the way they rested” (9:22). I understand shushan itself cause them and only them rested on the 15th, but a walled city other then shushan “fought” on the 13th, so they rested on the 14th, why would they celebrate on the 15th? Its not the “way they rested”

Even had it not say the words “like they rested”, its still not logical for a walled city to celebrate on the wrong day just because in shushan they rested that day. What does the fact that Shushan has a wall around it have to do with it? Find another common random attribute to shushan (maybe all cities that have plumbing like shushan celebrate the 15th as a zaycher to shushan)

Also, why didnt they take the spoils like M said? (according to what was said above, M had to keep the letter the same or similar to H, to make it look like its a clarification of Hamans letter, so he had to say they should take the spoils like it said in Hamans letter. He had never intended for the jews to take it and thats why they didnt)

FIA: The jews in the unwalled cities fought – what happened in a nutshell is that originally haman wrote 2 letters, 1 saying “be prepared for military action” and another secret one given just to the leaders to open on the 13th to “kill the jews”. Had he just written letters for everyone to kill the jews in 11 months, it would never had happened. Then M & E wrote their own 2 letters “clarifying” that when it said “be prepared for military action” it meant “haehudim” – jews be prepared – they had to do it this way cause a King cant Nullify a decree as explained above.

The second letter, “clarified” to mean “kill” who should kill – the jews should kill – instead of the Jews being killed, they should kill others. Of course a stretch (in some languages more then others) – yes – but this was just a “lawyers trick” to get around the decree without Nullifying it. So when the people got Esters Letter – worse case the jews were prepared (from the open letter) and they then had 2 letters on the 13th of Adar, 1) “kill the jews” and 2) “jews should kill” – so even if they didnt fall for the lawyers trick – the jews were ready and had an advantage of being ready and also were far better off from before cause at least they were on equal footing.

In the walled cities, the gov leaders were getting signals from the capital that the King is with the jews (because M got promoted, H was killed, etc) so they mainly focused on Esters letter – so “veish Loy umad Lifnayhem” – in the lawless unwalled cities, the man on the street only focused on the first – so they fought and the Jews fought back..That is why walled cities and unwalled celebrate differant days “they way they rested” – the walled cities didnt even fight, unwalled did – the unwalled had more of a traditional military win, walled was more hashem behind the scenes. This is also why the unwalled cities celebrated the first year, the walled only the second because they did not see a great miracle happen like the unwalled

There is alot more to say…but this is in a nutshell

Leyzer – poppa right on this one- aderaba- the King clearly said he cant “return the decrees” – nullifying it was out of the question, she didnt even ask. You need to read the Gaon and Malbums explanation on what they did and all these Qs and more fall away.

The reason why they killed 75000 Jews was because in the non walled cities, they did not pick up on the signals the king was sending that he want the decree nullified. In the walled cities they did so when they got the second letter that the Jews can fight back, it was understood that the King does not want the Jews Killed and “vish Lo omad Bifnayhem”. Thats going on just the walled cities.

In the unwalled cities, the people got a letter that said “kill the jews” (letter 1) – which was not opened until the 13th of adar. They then got a second letter, Esters letter that the “Jews should kill”. So there was a war from the Die hard anti-semites and the Jews won because they were backed by the army.

And, there is a humongeous Mitzvah in collecting Tzedaka for the Yeshiva too. ‘

Im not sure your understanding. The Bochorim are giving (there koichas) – The askanim are giving pay + extra.

So from the Bochorims perspective – they are giving and collecting as opposed to just collecting

Is anyone suggesting that collecting alone is better then giving AND collecting?

“Most important, you are still making up facts. Because no warehouse is going to pay a yeshiva guy 2500 a month either. A month is about 160 hours of work. 7.15×160=1114. Even if they pay 10 an hour, 10×160=1600. “

People will pay more because its going to Tzedakh. Like when they send you a free tape in the mail – most people give more

I did not complain – just made a suggestion. Hates Yehsiva guys? where did that come from? my suggesting they not collect and offering a possible alternative? Your forcing them to collect so maybe you hate Yeshiva guys

My analysis of your comments is that you hate yourself and that is why you talk in such a demeaning way.

I saw something interesting yesterday. They did not want Yerushalayim to not be special like shushan, so they made it that a walled city is considered walled for the megilla as long as it had a wall during Yehoshua Bin Nun’s times. During the story of Purim it did not have a wall

As a matter of fact , even shushan did not have a wall by Yehoshua Bin Nun’s times.

    tomim tihye,

    1) – You get health insurance + breaks on Tuition.

Also if you make 80 and 6 kids you pay zero taxes. If you make 160 you pay alot of taxes.

    so 160 is 130. 80 is 75 after taxes.

130-40k tuition is 90, 75-20k is 55. Now the insurace savings make up a big chunk of that differance after dental and braces.

Your also eligiable for mortgage modifications , first time home owner breaks, seminary scholoships when your kids are ready etc etc.

If you make 160 – nobody has rachmonis on you and they think your doing so well so they dont stop asking you for money.

My point may not be to the poenny but just about the same

username7 – they all get govt help

Bostoner – I think I disagree that costs are lower for a frum family moving out of town to a small community. My research has shown the only thing cheaper is the initial home purchase. After that, you are hit with alot of unexpected expenses

    1) schools are much more and they do not give you a break so fast as in Brooklyn

    2) Real estate tax is alot often

    3) Food is much more

    4) 2 cars a must – in brooklyn 1 is ok

    5) Traveling back and forth to simchas is pricey

    6) – NYC is known to give every child any therapy they request (speech, PT, OT) – That wont happen moving to Scranton or the like. So if your child needs speech, its going to be hard to get unless you pay 100$ a hour

The overall cost is not less then in broklyn, people just get tricked by the initial cost of home savings

tomim tihye – see this thread..

Health insurance for large families with decent income

if you have 6 kids – you can get CHP if you make up 154k which saves you 1000s on copays and dental over any regual insurance. You will be very close to getting familyh health plus.

Wic you get also i fyou make around 70 with 6 kids. Also, if you make 80 and you have 6 kids, you will not have to pay anything close to full tuition.

However if you make 160 – you pay full insurance and tuition – so whats the differance between making 160 and 80? who cares if you pay 20k Tuition or 40k? Between the insurance and Tution and camp differance – its the same thing.
